We have also received an e-mail from NVC stating our expedite request (even though we didn't do a request?) has been approved by USEM.

This is similar to the previous mass auto expedites done in Jan and June of 2023.  I know, I had to think about it for a moment to figure out when I requested an expedite then had that slap forehead moment.

  2. So now the next question for the next step.  How long till us expedited cases receive IL's?

Also I have been looking through the NVC uploaded docs and noticed that the NPC is expired, and will have to have her do that again.  But does the Advisory of Marriage have an expiration, someone told me it's only good for 6 months.

Another grim milestone.  It has now passed 7 months since any VJ member has updated their timeline reporting issuance of a CR1 or IR1 visa by US Embassy Manila.  A gap for Philippines spousal visas that as far as I can tell is unprecedented in the entire history of this forum.

I know I've been itching to update my timeline.

I just got my tax return transcript for 2023 and I know for sure, if my husband's interview will be after April 15th, they will require us to upload the transcript on CEAC.

Now my question is, for those of you who got interviewed already, will my husband need to bring a copy of the transcripts? Since I got the transcripts from IRS site, he can just print those, right?

Also, is it true that the AOS copies he needs to bring has to have my wet signature? (asking since the 2023 tax needs to be on another AOS form - pls do correct me if I am wrong)

Thank you to whoever can answer!

Here is something I found that might give you a clue.  Found this on the travel.state.gov FAQ:

If the poverty guidelines change between the time the petitioner signed the Affidavit of Support and the issuance of an immigrant visa, must the petitioner/sponsor and joint sponsor, if required, submit a new Form I-864?

No, the Form I-864 remains valid indefinitely unless evidence of failure to meet the poverty guidelines in effect on the date of I-864 filing arises. The consular officer will determine whether the income claimed by the sponsor and documented with financial evidence meets the poverty guidelines in effect at the time the I-864 was filed. If the income claimed does not meet the poverty guidelines, then the consular officer may request that the sponsor submit current year income information.

I would send copies of your transcripts and last few paystubs just in case, but your husband shouldn't volunteer the documents during the interview if not asked.

One thing's for sure that there's movement and eventually, all of us leftovers will be done as well. There's really nothing we can do at this point but to be positive.

Thank you for your insights. I actually already advised my friend that what they wanted was quite risky and that entering the US a day later wouldn't be so bad. I guess they just wanted to make their anniversary extra special 😅

I, for one, wouldn't care too much as long as I get my husband here with me soon (better if he gets IR1 though)

Suggest for them to make a stop in a different country for a couple of days on the way to USA and make their anniversary extra special that way.

Apologies if I stated the question wrong. What I meant to ask was, if the beneficiary arrives in the US exactly on their 2nd anniv date.

But guessing from your answer, it should be the case?

Worst case scenario,  just wait in the airport till one minute past midnight, then go through immigration (?)  IMHO, I would wait to fly in the day after, perhaps take an extended layover.  I know with Korean Airlines, I have options for  3.5 or 15 hour layovers for Chicago/Manila flights.

Btw, does anybody know if the beneficiary arrives exactly on the 2nd yr anniv date, will the GC still be automatically converted or do they have to wait for at least one more day?

    Asking for a friend

As far as I know IR1/CR1 is determined by date of entry, not by interview date.  So both categories should be treated the same during the interview.

Maybe I read that wrong somewhere (?)

And here's what I got from my response:

NVC documentarily completed this case on 17-JUL-2023. As of JAN-2024, the NVC is scheduling IV interview appointments for the U.S. Embassy in MANILA, PHILIPPINES for Immediate Relative applicants that were documentarily complete on or before JAN-2023.

Seems like they're just spitting out random dates.  Or there's a difference between IR1/CR1 timing?  We are CR1

There really isn't.  From what I have gathered; If your spouse lands on US soil after your two year anniversary, immigration will make her visa an IR1 automatically.  It's only treated differently depending if you're CR1 or IR1 while in the USA i.e. 3 year conditional residence (similar to that of the old and obsolete K3 visa).  Besides most cases have been taking so long, they turn into IR1 anyways before landing.

I have been also following the Manila - US Embassy (DQ) group on Facebook.  Seems like ILs are being sent today; 08 FEB 2024.  Those that have been IL'd that I can see for now have been for Feb - Mar 2023.  So finally things are starting to move at the very least.

what is an IL? i am not familiar with this acronym. I thought we were all IR-1/CR-1

    IL is Interview Letter

    2) My son is a US citizen and will go with my wife to the US. Does my wife need some written consent or any form of consent to take my son to the US? I know there will be pre-TSA before her flight.

This is the reason I am going out there to pick my Wife and Son.  My wife cannot take my son out of the Philippines with her Philippines Passport and him having a US Passport.  Vice versa I cannot bring my own son with my US Passport if all he had is a Philippines passport.  (For my situation, this is not a US Border thing, this is Philippines BOI.  Anti-human trafficking efforts.)

15 May 2023 DQ here as well. IR1 Visa application. The only progress we've received is the invitation to create an account on Travel Docs; I've been checking at least once a week to see if we're able to book our own appointment, but nothing yet. Hoping for this month.

I haven't even seen that yet.  DQ 24 July.  When did you get the invite?

    Hope you're right.

One of the members of the Facebook group claims to have met with a congressman and that he was responsible for the June 2023 expedite. He said that the reason for the issues is some glitch in the system that they expect to be fixed in 2024. Who knows how accurate that is (between the guy, the congressman, and the embassy), but that's what he said.

If that's the case, then we might not expect another auto-expedite possibly ever and this was won't be resolved until that "glitch" is fixed (if it exists).

I saw that.  Let's all pray we don't have a Bananorama year.

Hey guys, I'm another May 2023 DQ case with no interview date in sight, and I've just started reading through this thread.

Question: for cases that are "auto-expedited", does that typically happen without the petitioner doing anything at all? Or is that usually something that occurs for people who have sent an expedite request in the past?

It seems to be just the method the USEM  uses to batch up a whole bunch of petitions, unique to Manila.  The first two auto expedites  happened in ends of January and June, so we all hoped for end of November.  It didn't happen.  So now it may be the same pattern of ends of January and June again this year, lather rinse repeat.

I don't understand what the USEM is doing. The NIV backlog is cleared, so why can't we get Ir/cr interview dates?

Well, the old pattern myth has been debunked. I think there will be a mass expedite end of January, followed by another mass expedite in June like this year. December is a holiday month and you know how seriously Filipinos take their holidays, which may explain what's going (or lack thereof) there.

  15. 10 hours ago, DUBSTER1 said:

We got our DQ July 8, 2023 has anyone heard if the auto expedites that happened in February and September have moved ahead and are in their destination?

It seems like so many are asking the same but there is no follow up. I will try to update here when we are moving again in the system so that others may have an idea what is happening overall.

The auto expedited happened in January and June. So if the pattern follows, we should be hearing sometime by the end of the month, perhaps because of Thanksgiving, it may happen beginning of December.

Another month andUSEM still not processing IR/CR visas. Applicants with DQ date of Mid May until now still cant get interview appts.

We are a July DQ, I feel your pain.

It seems like USEM Manila is doing auto-expedite every 5 months.  Happened in January, then in June.  I suspect we won't hear anything till Nov, just another couple of months.

Heh, a smidge of panic, here.  I already got my ECC, our flight is tomorrow, I cannot find my ACR card.  Is it required at the airport, or just the ECC?  I remember bringing it to BI obviously, but i don't remember if i had it when i left there.  The one place left for me to check is the bottom of a well-packed and sealed box. 🤔

Having lived there for 4 years with my wife, flying to Hong Kong for visa runs and finally moving out during covid, they never asked me for the ACR, just the ECC.

  18. This upcoming Wednesday will be the 13th week of waiting for passport renewal (received by DOS 06/07/2023).  My dumb self didn't expedite due to my father having got his in 6 weeks last year (he decided not to go after all) I would like to have it in my possession so if my wife's IR1 interview comes up and gets her visa, I can just hop on KAL to pick her and my son up.

Has anybody had any luck with getting a passport renewed lately or is everybody still in limbo?

    Not required

Moving to US will be life changing event and u r able to add her then under "Special enrolement circumstances"

check your health care as some say within 30 and some say 60 days

But don't wait too long after she arrives

Thank you for the reassuring answer.  My HR hasn't been able to answer this question as to if it's a "life changing" event, and quite frankly haven't had much time to call the insurance company.

Yes. This should have been done at the time the spouse’s I-130 was filed.

I did clue him in on this being an option, but his petition was prepared by an attorney without consideration of him becoming a US Citizen.  I personally think it's irresponsible of his attorney not to present that option at the time of filing.

I will suggest to him to get his son's I-130 as soon as possible so it can be approved around the time he takes the oath resulting in, perhaps, a slight delay in his family's progress.

Without knowing the timeline, i must say yes

He can hire a lawyer then

Thank you for those answers.  I'll go ahead and relay that info.

Can he file the I-130 now as an F1 for his child now, so that by the time he becomes a citizen the additional I-130 should be getting approved by USCIS?
