For any of you who is still waiting, let me share with you the response I got from my case inquiry!

This is absurd! Make sure to call, submit request, and do anything you can to push them.

Otherwise, your case may end up sleeping in a offsite storage facility eternally without being processed! And those tier 2 officers all had absolutely no clue, misinformed me about my case transferring to another service center!

Shocking! 😧 How can they be so negligent with applications on which we spend so much money!  I hope you hear something soon.

  2. When you travel from the USVI, you clear customs there.  I had to show my PR card, I don't know if that is up to their discretion or if it was a requirement.  Point is they can ask for it.  I don't have experience with Guam and Puerto Rico though, I'm sure you will get an answer on those two quickly from someone else.

I didn't think about that. It does make a lot of sense though. That's what I will do. By the way, speaking of "request of tax transcripts"..It will take 10 days for them to process it. I really need to file as soon as possible, I think. So I'm just going to sort the copies and get the most important ones...It's weird that our 2015 one is 145 pages long, where the 2016 is 7 pages...Don't want to receive a RFE notice, but I do know we have a lot of other documents such as both vehicles, insurance, health and life insurance...I think we should be fine.

Please let me know if you disagree. Happy to hear any suggestions!

    Thanks again!

They say 10 days, but ours took three or four days to arrive.  Of course it can take longer, but that was my experience.

It sounds like you have a lot of evidence to submit. I would think that they probably get more nitpicky if you do not have a lot of evidence of your relationship, or if the bank statements you submitted doesn't show much activity.  I'm not an expert though, of course these are just my opinions.  And also, you never know if the person processing your application is having a bad day or is just stricter on certain things than his colleague next to him.  I would say submit with whatever you feel comfortable with.  And if you haven't yet, read some more here on VJ about other people's experiences (in threads where people were already approved).  That was very helpful to me, because some people submit a mountain of documents, others submit the bare minimum, and both gets approved.  I think mine was somewhere in the middle, and I'm crossing my fingers for no RFE's :)

The bank statements with all the transactions for 2 years. Now that will be a lot of pages.

    Hope to apply next week!

    Have a great weekend everyone~

I did not submit every month's statements.  Only for a few months stretching over the course of the two years to show continuous use.  Now, of course I am still too early in this process to say if I will receive any RFE's because of that, but I have read about others who have done the same and all went well.  So that is up to you.  We also have more than one account together, so I don't know if that will make a difference.

    Good luck to you!

Congrats .that is awesome. Thanks for sharing the good news.I have been wondering the same thing about how long until we hear from them. Hopefully someone else has a better idea of the bigger picture.

The April 2016 thread and people's signatures in the thread might give you an idea... http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/622749-i-751-april-2016-filers-part-2-merged/?page=45

I'm not so stressed out about it this time around.  I now know it can take a long time for anything to happen, so my attitude at this point is "it is what it is."  Still sucks to wait so long, but...it is what it is :)

Sure, you can have the name you want on USCIS, I guess, if you had it declared on your marriage certificate and were going to use that to update Social Security. That's my understanding. If I'm mistaken, someone else please point me out.

My GC matches my Social Security, so I'm not entirely sure about your situation. In fact, I changed my name with Social Security before I AOSed, not knowing that I could just put my new name on the forms and then change it later. I am only telling you what I know.

It depends on the state you get married.  I did not have the option of  which last name I wanted on my marriage certificate in the state I got married.  My maiden name is on my marriage certificate.  My green card, social security, and driver license have my married name.  I had to show my green card to get my social, social to get my driver license.

  7. The country matters. High fraud countries the chances of a visa decrease, if you will, and your application will most likely be scrutinized more. Could you disclose your country?

I got my student visa with a sponsor's help, did not provide my own bank statement. BUT like other's have mentioned you clearly have intentions to immigrate which is evident from the DV (and your "American Dream" statement). So that does not do you any favors. Only way to know what your chances are is to apply, no one on here can tell you.
