Congrats and outstanding job. VJ is the best site ever.

on a thumb drive?

Ok, well I filled in the 'how we met' portion.
Besides proof reading my g/f papers when they get here tomorrow, and going over mine again...I am down to the passport style pic and also the other pics for proof. I have a million on my phone, a bunch on my laptop...I've not done this before, but I guess I can create an account and transfer pics from my puter to Walgreens, (or someplace like that), and pick them up later?
-
Congrats....

The address you put on the letter is irrelevant. It's considered a courtesy when you write a business style letter to include the recipients name and address in the header. It would be sufficient to just put "USCIS" or "United States Embassy/Consulate" without any street address. In fact, it wouldn't matter if you addressed the letter to Mickey Mouse on the planet Mars. The only thing that matters is the original statement of intent and the signature - this is what the I-129F instructions ask for.
Thank you Jim....
-
I like it Dale, haha
-
Hey guys, how much detail did you guys provide for the how you met letter? I can be very long winded. Did y'all pepper it with how much you love each other and such?
-
RK, at first I was like, what the heck is this G-1145....then I looked in my stack and saw I already filled it out, lol. And yes, I will let the 129F set and look at it thur or friday, or even scan and email to finance and let her look at it.....I wonder if I could have you guys check it out? Oh, but our personal info is on the forms, hmmm....well I will make sure I check and recheck, good idea.
Thanks Bigdog, trying too, it is overwhelming a bit, without you guys it would be much worse.
-
Yes RK, tracking shows it to be here on Friday, I am off, so if I can finish off my stuff, I can fedex it to the Dallas lock box friday, and sorta be in the system....
-
RK, thanks for the info and we will use the FedEx address.
-
The Service center address for the Dallas Lock box makes sense to me for the cover letter....yes. And also for the USCIS service center address too, (Dalllas lockbox), for the fiance letter of intent, but not sure about the embassy address info in the letter of intent however.
-
Hey all, well fiance' sent me her docs, etc, today via FedEx, should be here on friday.
I have completed the G325A and the I-129F, still have to do the 'how we met letter', I followed the pre filled suggestion on question 18 and will use blank sheet and attach it. For fiance letter of intent to marry, the USCIS address, what to put there? The next place where it shows United States Department of State
United States Consulate, [name of country where Embassy is located]
[Embassy Address]
My fiance is Filipina and lives in Manila, So would the area in red be Philippines and the US Embassy address in Philippines? Rest I think I can figure out, lol.
And I also guess the I-129F cover letter as well? Sample letter explains it pretty well except for address of service center?
Thanks, you guys have been a vast help so far.
-
Actually just read entire thread, (yes I posted that previous one without reading whole thing)...he sounds like a douche bag to me. If you are married, do you have your green card? To me, if someone is abusive, mentally or physically, its their personality, and they will never change. It will prolly get worse.
As I said before, you are responsible for yourself. Him threatening to send you home is a control thing, as you know....he has no control over you, f-him. Take care of yourself.

Homesickness is killing me right now..... I miss my family.. My friends... My Life..
='(
Katzie, I was married to a Filipina for 30 years, I married when I was like 19, and I am engaged to a Filipina currently, so I know which what I am speaking....homesickness is a normal feeling, you should embrace that feeling and understand it, to understand that feeling is to understand yourself. Its perfectly healthy to feel as you do.
I can't speak about your husband, but to me its very important for you to become family with his family, especially if they are local. I would hope you can join a local church or temple that maybe your husband goes to...to join a gym, enroll in college, etc. You have to keep yourself busy and to become an American. You of course will never lose your Philippine identity at all, thats the beauty of being an American, you will be a Filipino/American...
I am not sure where you live, was it Texas? I live in Maryland, there are TONS of Filipino's here. The DC area is Filipino central. There are Filipino grocery stores, Filipino restaurants, and so forth. I've made literally hundreds of Filipino friends here over the years and you know Filipinos, they love to party. Its usually one of their kids birthday, but its really a party for adults, Filipino food in abundance, hahaha.
Once you go to one party, you network with more Filipinos and get to know them, then you will go to more parties and develop more friendships...I met a Filipina a couple of months ago at the store, she and her husband were Physical Therapists, just got here to Maryland. She was sure, very sure, there were NO Filipinos in our area, I ASSURED her they were plenty of Filipinos in the area, you just have to meet one, then you will meet their friends, etc, before you know it, you are in the Filipino community..its there, you just have to find it, lol. I gave her some phone numbers and I saw her recently at the gym and they have become comfortable here and made new friends, of all races and cultures.
Dish or DirecTV have Filipino TV channels also, to keep you in the loop on the Philippines, and you have the internet.
You will be ok, just keep your mind open to new experiences and your feelings are normal, just don't become too sad...you are here in America, you have unlimited potential....you are the only one that controls what you do with your potential.
Good luck, I know I am long winded...lol.

Ron, Sorry i just read your first post on the K1 forum. Looks like you already have your answer there on the lawyer question. Again welcome to VJ!
Paul, hey no problem...yes we are doing it on our own, with the support of the VJ family.
-
@jetdoc,
Nope, that was not a dumb question at all. Many similar and other questions have been asked about that place on form G-325A. Many of us--including myself--have asked such, at first seemingly trivial questions. We are still asking. And I know I myself still have a TON to yet learn!! But I figure when it comes down to doing the best one can to pursue a future together with a wonderful person and/or striving to live as good and fulfilled life as possible, then there is very little that is actually "trivial" in this pursuit. The existence of the VJ site, the many questions (and the nature thereof) posed by other VJ members, and the helpfulness of so many here, seems to indicate the existence of some core truth to this claim. Ron, may all continue to go well with you--and also your fiancee, of course--in your own pursuit(s) during your own visa journey and beyond. --RK
RK, you're a kind soul and may your Karma be bright.

@jetdoc:
One G-325A each; that is to say, one for you and another for your fiancee. On your form, fill in your family, given and middle names and put "none" for Alien Registration Number, or as appropriate. Oh her form, under "Applicant..." your fiancee's information is also filled in accordingly. You each must sign your own form. Suggestion: each (you and your fiancee) print out at least three copies of G-325 and sign each copy. That is to say, you sign your three G-325A copies; she signs her three G-325A copies. That way you can send copy(s) with original signature to USCIS and still retain a copy with original signature for your own records in case one which is sent becomes lost. [The third copy is because it is highly recommended that petitioner send a complete duplicate of submitted I-129F packet and supporting documents to fiance(e).]
--RK
Thank you very much. I hate to sound like an idiot, but I just want to make sure these forms are filled out fully correct the first time....will do.
-
No because the petition is not staying at Dallas. Its going to either CSC or VSC. Do not bother putting an address on the letter.
ok, thanks
-
Write: NONE Does not apply For the Alien number.
Ok, but in the actual name part in that box...my name, or is that n/a or doesn't not apply, also?
-
Yes, I filled out the line items using Adobe so it looks typed written and cleanly done. I sent it to her via email, she printed it, signed it and Fed ex'd it back to me.
That is what I am doing too
-
For letter of intent, we are both wondering is it the Dallas lockbox addy to use? USCIS service center address. I live in Maryland, if that makes a difference.
-
So Dale, you filled out the 325A for yourself and for your fiance?
-
Write: NONE Does not apply For the Alien number.
To be sure Tim, bottom of 325A page, in the highlighted boxed area, I put, 'does not apply'..?
When fiance is filling out her, (actually she is done), would she leave it blank as well?
-
G325A...I am about done with mine, to be SURE, I know its dumb, but where it states applicants name and A#, down towards bottom, is that still me, or fiance'...?
Correction on forms?
in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures

Well I am not fully sure if my official divorce date is 29Aug, 2011 or 25Aug 2011...there are two different dates on the decree. Now I have not mailed in our pkg yet, but I did put down 29Aug 2011 on forms....I have the question in with someone that can prob give me the right answer, however if it is the 25th, would it be a big deal to white out the 9 and make it a 5 with a pen? If not I'd have to re do the whole form, and it will only take about 15 mins...but you know, just wondering.
Thanks in advance.
