I have a security clearance, both from Military and also in my current position...does it help?
-
We used Vermont, but they cashed my check in a matter of a week, or less...I was very surprised.
-
Good luck guys....
-
I hope you meant
THIS Sept not LAST Sept?
-
We filed early Sept....
-
Thanks guys...yea we hate to wait, but what can we do? wait, haha

Our official NOA 1 just came in mail today...I know its not much, but its progress and baby steps....(yea I started a whole thread because we received our NOA 1 in the mail...already had the email/text update, haha. )

What does the 'little guy' tell you, IOW, your gut...your gut never lies brother. The answer is obvious, what to do about it, thats the difficult part. Good luck.

Yea to cover my butt I not only sent the boarding pass stubs I had, but I signed back into my account with Delta and Continental and found my flight info on both of my flights when I flew over to see my fiance and printed those up too. In addition to the passport stamps I copied both of my birth certificates, the official one and a copy I drove down and picked up in DC when I had to get my passport renewed.
I do have a question on the pics, I dated them and wrote where we were, etc and put in plastic bags, etc. But the dates I was not sure of, to the day. Obviously I knew I was in Manila from such and such a date to such and such, and also for Bangkok, but the dates for the pics, I sorta guessed. I did make duplicate copies of everything, including pics, but I didn't write down the dates I jotted on the pics...so when my fiance has her interview, she will have the exact same package I sent to USCIS, but not knowing the exact same dates on pics, will that be an issue?

That is definitely a possibility as they seem to have a habit of doing that. It frustrates people working there also.
If you are going to try to track this like a Fedex package you are going to be VERY frustrated as it is not designed to work that way. My suggestion? Believe me dude, this visa stuff is the small stuff, the easy part. Do you and your fiance(e) a favor and spend your time preparing for a very major change in life that is going to happen much sooner than you imagine
Either that or wrap your head in duct tape, because if you keep this up your head is going to explode and you will want to keep the pieces.
Best reply ever, lol.

Excellent retort guys...backed with actual STATS, not with the posters, "I will stick my neck and and say I BELIEVE the divorce rates...blah, blah)....I was a case in point, with all odds against the marriage, (culture, both of us teens, and so forth)....and I am glad to learn FACTS, that our types of marriages actually last longer than the averages.
I would say the original poster was a troll, but I assume he actually went through the process so maybe he's not.

we have allready done the k1 etc etc.we are now removing conditions.i for one would like to see this whole process more stringent than it already is.we have our circle of friends whom are all k1 holders and ive closely watched all of them and there marriages.first,i would like to see more up front than just meeting 1 time within 2 years.second, this 90 day to marry must be extended to at least double (180 days)third,i believe that the income levels of pationers should be much higher than 125% of poverty level.we all have to admit the process is already long.uscis can only do so much when it comes to paperwork and background checks.but in all reality it is up to the petioner and the k1 visa holder to make a marriage that will last a lifetime.im gonna stick my neck out here and say i personally believe that only 40% of these marriages last any length of time.dont get me wrong i am happily married to a wonderful women and weve been together now a full 2 years.but looking back it sure was very tough.any comments welcome?
You BELIEVE 40% of these marriages last any length of time, well the percent of marriages that fail, in general, in the US is greater than 50% and thats a fact, so your 40% belief isn't a stretch. You're not stretching your neck out much at all, lol.
My first marriage was for 31 years, to a Filipina, we met and married over there and we didn't know each other very well at all, in reality. I feel its not so much if the marriage is between two people of different races, or the same...all couples have problems, be it language, cultural, money, etc, etc, etc X 4 million other problems. Its about how you deal with those problems, that will make or break your marriage.
And how one deals with those problems is important because if they get a divorce without dealing with the problems in an adult manner, they will carry that same personality trait into their next marriage, and the cycle will repeat itself.
But I digress, this process is good enough, IMO...any two yahoo's here in America can get married without jumping through hardly any hoops. Just because they are Americans certainly doesn't mean their marriage will last longer, or fail quicker, than any other type of marriage.
The only thing that I would give you in your post is the 90 days....if it were longer, that would not hurt anything, I believe.

Dear Applicant/Petitioner:
Your USCIS application/petition has been received and routed to the Vermont Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number.....(etc).
Just FedEx'd it the other day, glad to have received this notification. I know this is just a notification, but feels good to know we are in the system and being processed.

Just wanted to let you guys know if you dont' see Jetdoc postings, lol.

Well just tracked my fedex and it was delivered and signed for this morning, 9:10 a.m...who hoo...haha.
Eve/Jim, good points, and I will take up your suggestions, I like it. And thanks for your kind words.
RK/Inday, I understand that the time frame can be long or not as long, and it seems there is not rhyme or reason....so I will pray ours is the 'not as long'. Myself and my fiance' will use this time to prepare ourselves for the next step, we will be ready I think.
I do need to use this time now to realx a bit, as much as I can. These past two years have been EXTREMELY difficult, with the divorce, the QDRO divorce settlement nightmare, the mess of splitting everything , including house, moving into our new house, (fiance and I), and all the paperwork with the I-129F....some of this stuff is ongoing but most of it is on the downward slope now, except for my relationship with my fiance', lol.
Thanks for your reassurance, RK, it does feel good to be able to say USCIS has our 129F pkg now, and we will be entered into the system soon.

@jetdoc/Ron--I am glad you took the time over weekend to look over everything a few times. Congratulations on getting everything together and sent off!! Definitely, a major step. Also, glad to hear your fiancee is on top of things as well. You and her, working as a team, will do wonders for the next part of your visa journey some time later: preparing for interview upon petition approval. Best wishes for a smooth and continuing journey!! --RK
As always thanks RK...we will be ready.

Holy smoke, I know I just filed our K1 pkg, however I was checking out the next steps in the process and the 2nd NOA, acknowledging K1 petition approved, the processing time for this step is 5 months alone? It seemed to not matter whichever service center, except Nebraska, (not sure what their times meant)...., but I've talked to people who were bringing their Filipina finace here and I know one guy said the whole process was 4 months...there were some 5 month folks...seemed 6 was sorta common..?
I mean it is what it is, but didn't think just that one step was 5 months. Too bad living near DC doesn't help or I'd just drive the 50 mins downtown and take care of it, if I could, lol.
-
I noticed the same thing and wondered where to insert which one...so I put n/a where it seemed appropriate and none where it seemed to fit better.
-
Sweet guys, thanks...Fedex said it will be in Texas tomorrow morning...now the long wait.
-
Thanks guys...ugh, I've been so stretched thin lately, with moving, and finalizing some other things and with this process as well...just when I thought I was done, haha. Well was speaking with fiance' just before I was leaving house to fedex pkg.....fiance': 'hon, did you make a final copy of the complete pkg, for myself and you...?"....me: umm, well I have duplicates of everything, I am sure I have most of it...#######...no I didn't, jeez. And by copies for the pics I am supplying, I am sure you mean actual duplicates of the pics, not photocopied pics huh..? .....fiance:, 'umm, yes hon, I need an exact copy of what you're sending so I can bring to interview and to go over it all'....
Well at least she caught me before I left house...so I ordered 3 copies of the pics, and I am at work now making copies of the complete entire 3/4:" I-129F pkg, lol.
I am sending the Fedex out in just a few mins...and will multiple copies of the entire pkg...glad my fiance is smarter than me, lol.

Thanks man...!!
-
Well didn't get back home and to sleep until almost 4am but I've reviewed and corrected and corrected my corrections, haha, I think its about as good as I can get the pkg. I am so happy you guys advised to go over the docs over and over and have other eyeballs go over it as well, it paid off several times...jeez.
Fingers crossed on everything and I will advise and ask advise I am sure....and start a timeline as well.

Hey all, I am done with everything for the 129F..put it all together today, the pics in baggies, everything, whew. I am so glad I proof read the docs a few times, because I found errors and had to re do some docs.
Now one thing I am wondering, I decided to re do the 129F supplement, about if we have met in person or not...what do you guys think of this, and until I get feedback I will stop where I am, as this is the last thing to adjust and its really done except for this one part....
I met my fiance about 8 months after the start of the end of my marriage. Some things happened and came out to the light and basically I could not get past them...so that was around July of 09...I had started to do divorce papers and do mediation a few times, but it kept starting and stalling, (we were married 30 years, so its a lot to deal with, we married very very young, teenagers)....I met Diana, my fiance, in Feb 2010...My divorce was finalized July 25th, 2011.
I was wondering, as its not an extreme long time between starting to split up and meeting Diana, should I enclose a paragraph in the supplemental letter on this topic, giving some detail, in case they were wondering? I mean I didn't not meet Diana until well after the ending of my marriage, but I want to make sure they know this..
good idea or not?
My honey is on her way!!!!!!
