  2. Question: Do you know how long is the psychological exam?

    Answer:

If they order a psychological exam. They will give you a date on when you need to come back to SLEC. How long, is upon the first examiner discretion. It can be as quick as 3 day or 10 days from your first medical exam. That's business days. They will contact you once they conclude on there the results. Again its all on the examiner.

I think the best is convince examiner calmly and confident of what happen and truthfully. Its all on how you present your story . Calm and collective, Confident, Truthful and Prayers will help if they question you on the scar.

Don't get discourage and stressed if they do order a psychological exam. Roll with the process and complete it. We all have stories in this crazy Visa Journey for our loved ones. Always remember to believe in yourself, believe in GOD or whom ever is your higher power and believe in your goals. You will prevail!!

    Good Luck and Good Bless!!

  3. If I am calculating correctly 2 business days after Nov. 17th. You submitted your NBI clearance and CENOMAR on November 21st. It take between 14 - 30 days to update paperwork (this going by an average only). 14 business days from Nov. 21 is Dec. 8th.

Now USEM will send your passport and visa to 2GO that will take between 5 - 10 business days. Depending on if you requested for it to be delivered or pick-up at a 2GO location.

CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) Information.

CFO Seminar is a 1 day seminar and process. If all is good you should be done between the 15th - 20th.

  4. Hi Love83

When they ask you about the scar on your wrist. Just explain what happened and when it happened. If the scar does not look like a slash or was made by razor or knife type of cut. Then you shouldn't have anything to worry about but I a have read from others that SLEC examiners look for any excuse to do the psychological exam. :(

So pray for the best but plan for the worst just in case they do order the evaluation. ie cost, extra time and planning.

Don't book flights and schedule interview until your finished with SLEC and pass.

    Good Luck and Good Bless!!

  5. At SLEC, petitioners are only allowed inside if they have children with the beneficiary or specials needs. Other than that petitioners are not allowed inside. He can drop a donation in a guards pocket to get a seat outside but it's hot and he will get harrassed by a few begging street kids

Lotus is in Ermita area. That is one of the tourist areas. So it pretty much safe. like any place keep your wits out you surroundings. Most likely you will be in SLEC for the better part of the day (6 hours or more). He can either go back to the hotel and relax and rest or walk around. He can go to Robinson Mall and walk around etc...

To get to Robinson Mall walk south on Jorge Bocobo. Jorge Bocobo end right at Robinson Mall. (10 min walk) 40-60 pesos taxi. Always make sure they turn on the meter and carry small bills 20, 50, 100 pesos because taxi drivers won't have change and you will have to give up the extra money or search for change.

If you want him closer to SLEC. He can book at Hotel Soriente http://hotelsoriente.com

Its right across the street from SLEC.

    Good Luck and God Bless.

  7. Jim

I suggest not to even try to book tickets this late in the holiday month (December). Airlines rake in the dough during this time. From thanksgiving thru New Years is the Highest travel time of the year and most expensive. Alternatively If traveling to Philippines is a must. Travel there by yourself as you will save half on the expense from including your son.

Also the expense will tally up once she arrives there in Ohio. You will need to get her all new warm clothing. I have family in Columbus Ohio and I know how cold it gets there. Your in Cincinnati near the lakes where you get cold frigid air and snow falls. Remember she will be coming from a average of 85 degree weather to winter here in the states of 10 - 35 degrees.

Socks, leggings, sweaters, gloves. Also get her measurements (Bust, waist, hips, shoe size) so you can convert to american sizes. This will save you from trial and error and wasting money. Shoes, just like women here. She will need to try them on as shoes for women have many different cuts and may need to adjust to a bigger size depend on type of shoe.

Also foods will be another adjustment for her.. Take it from me and other VJ'ers on this make sure to have some Filipino ingredients available to ease the transition. Website I have been ordering from is http://www.philamfood.com/.

Price are 6 to 7 times what a Filipino pays in Philippines but we are not in the Philippines LOL!. Prices are comparable to what you would pay for USA food.

Let me know if you have any questions

    Good Luck and God bless

  8. Hi Jim

In regards to your son's passport it can be expedited and one visit to the post office. Just make sure all is completed and correct or it will lead to delays..!!!

  9. Print out the last 3 months to current date of YM, Email, Gift receipts, Money sent receipts (Western Union, Money Gram, LBC ETC. If you have a encyclopedia of YM chat logs and emails. Then choose a few days for every week. They only need to see that there is still a ongoing relationship.

    Good Luck and GOD Bless

  10. Contact NVC office. They are the only one's who issue the case numbers. Call to see if they have received you 1-129f package. From you timeline you have your NOA2 approval. Give it 10 - 14 days before call NVC. You can always call at anytime but they will tell you they don't have it. Once they have your package they will ask you a you Name and DOB and your fiance's Name and DOB. Then they will release the mnl# to you.

  11. Yes i know that it can be a shell shocker to find this out now. But there is hope! Its call being honest!! She needs to be honest completely with you first. This will help you to figure out how to guide you asawa in this process. Don't get mad at her and understand that she may have gone through a time in her life that was not stable or she was not able to deal with the problem.

As evidence she is still alive and you are in her life. Like I said complete honesty and love will help you and her through anything.

Ok now to the medical because my fiance had the same thing and it was stressful. After talking it over and researching and read other stories. Seeing how other got through this and those who fail and why, helped us on the pyschological exam.

She will need to explain to the doctor when it happen, why it happen and if she still feels that way now. Now the doctor will question her and make her feels as if she is lying or not telling the truth. This is done to test her will and esteem.

She needs to be strong and stick to her story. Assure the doctor that it was the past and she is over that stage in her life. They will make it seem as if they will make her wait. This will drive both of you crazy a little because you want to know if she passed or failed.

8 out 10 pass if they explain truthfully with confidence and do not waiver from the explanation.

After the doctor's evaluation they will contact her to either return for further evaluation or she will be asked to return to finish vaccinations and get the medical completed.

What helped us was praying preparing and planning. Staying confident and loving each other.

Here is a website with stories of medical and other visa experiences:

    http://ducecoop.com/interview/

Remember these are their experiences not yours. So read them as guides and advise!!

As always let me know if you have any questions

God Bless and Good Luck!! It will work out

  12. It could be an annulment. If not an annulment it could be that she has scars on her body (wraist, neck, arms etc..). Any scars that they deem as suspiciously like suicide attempts. They will order a psychological evaluation. They will charge her for the evaluation also.

She will need to be truthful and honest on all questions.

    Good luck and God Bless

  13. It will take 9 - 10 days to receive your passport with visa inside. Please please remember if you have not taken your CFO seminar you will not be permitted to leave the country.

CFO is a one day process.

As the state Do Not book any flights in advance because there is maybe delays in processing your Visa, delivery, and CFO. I know the feeling of excitement and after the long wait for your loved one to be there with you but it is still a process and a missed up one at that!! You may end up paying more now for rescheduling the flight. Call the airline asap to see what there policy is on flight changes and fees.

    FYI

Also check with your airline to see if the filipino depart fee is included as you may end up double paying that fee airport. Most major airlines include that in price.

    Good luck and God Bless!!

She can schedule her CFO anytime before or after the USEM interview. CFO is not required for the interview but is required prior or in order to leave Philippines.
