  1. So we got our NOA2 approval last Aug 10. Called NVC and they gave us our manila case number Aug 15. My fiance called yesterday, Aug 24 to ask if our case is already forwarded to the listed consulate. The agent said our case is undergoing further processing and unfortunately there is no time frame for that. I called again today and got the same response. I'm getting really worried that there is something wrong with our case. Has anyone gone thru the same thing? any inputs will be appreciated. Thanks!!

Hi if you have already the Manila case number from NVC you can have an appointment for your medical thru online in St. Luke (SLEC) website

then after medical appointment, you can pay visa fee in BPI just bring your passport after 4 hours of paying you can have your interview appointment in USEM thru phone or online just open the website in USEM. Good luck

documents to bring for medical: appointment confirmation SLEC, NVC -Manila case number the e-mail that was sent to you by NVC,

3pcs(2x2)pics, 213 usd, photocopy of your passport, and bring also your passport.

  2. My fiance bought me a one way ticket through his visa card and think I will need the photocopy of his visa card and a valid ID as what I have read from some post here..Hope will not have any hazzle in the airport as my flight is early morning..

Hi Rencor yes you will need the photocopy of the visa card that he was using when he bought online and his valid ID scanned, as the airport staff will ask it. God Speed.

  5. Greetings everyone,

My fiancée has an interview scheduled for next Friday at the manila embassy...Sept 2nd. She has not completed the medical at st. Luke's yet...as she was planning to do that today and tomorrow.

however her menstrual cycle has just begun and won't be finished until Saturday or so and the St. Luke's website says that a female of child bearing age should not go to the medical while menstruating. St. Luke's is closed on Monday and Tuesday of next week so she can't go in until Wednesday and Thursday of next week...and her interview is Friday of next week.

I've had to reschedule once because of her NBI clearance and it put us another 2 weeks out...I really don't want to reschedule again. Can someone please advise me on what we should do.

thanks so much for all of the help!!

    Re- schedule

  6. Hello all. Me and my fiance just got our NOA2 approved lastweek and are preparing the necessary papers for her to bring to the interview. We're having concerns about her not having police clearance from saudi arabia(she worked there for 2 years). Has anyone gone through the interview without having police clearance from saudi arabia? Thanx.

Hi I had done my interview today and my friend there was not asked of her police clearance but it is required so she gave it to the pre-screen window so that there will be no lacking on her docs. my advice just have it for interview. Good luck

  7. I haven't been able to use the NVC automated phone number 603 334 0700 at all to find out my status. I only get a dial tone after dialing, no connection at all. Has anybody else had this problem? I am using the magicjack, calling from Philippines, but have never had this problem calling any other number. I even tried calling 202 663 1225 and that went through without any problems. They were closed but I will try them again tomorrow, is there any other number I could call to find out my case status? I am waiting to be issued a NVC case # and it's been more than 3 weeks since my NOA2. Thanks

I also asked how long to get interview if things were ok. she said the 22nd was the first date available.

best in PRISM taft, for 1 hour seminar, they will not scare you (nor show any scary film) what you will do in other foreign lands but let you know how to do in case of any emergency.

  13. Let's face it, immigration involves endless paperwork and requires a lot of patience. As you dig through piles of documents, it is only necessary to be organize and clutter-free. I would like to share some useful tips as to how I kept my sanity through proper filing and arrangement of important documents.

    1. Always keep a file of all the forms you submitted, and the email notifications from NVC and/or USCIS. I print out 3 copies every time and arrange them neatly on separate folders. (One copy for me, one for my husband and a back-up copy). I also created a personal timeline in order to track down our case's progress.

    2. Before my visa interview, I neatly arranged my documents using color-coded folders and clear plastic separates. I also placed labels on every folder and printed a cover page for each.

Folder A - Affidavit of Support Packet contains husband's employment certificate, tax records and W2's

Folder B - Proof of Relationship Packet contains billing statements, receipts, email correspondence, money transfers, housing arrangements, contract of lease etc.

Folder C - Wedding photos, proof of travels, family celebrations etc

    download-1.jpg

Plastic Separate 1 - Appointment Letter

    Plastic Separate 2 - Ds-230 & I-864 (original and photo copies)

Plastic Separate 3 - NSo Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Police Clearance

    2011-07-31125300.jpg

Please note that in most US Embassies where interviews are held, the applicant and the consul are separated by a glass window with a narrow, 2-inch sloped slot - this is where you slip the documents they request to view. It is advisable to use FLEXIBLE folders instead of hard or spiral binds because they wouldn't fit.

    3. If you are married to an expat whose been working outside the States, you also need to produce Proof of Domicile.

[Domicile. Place where a person has his or her principal residence. The person must intend to keep that residence for the foreseeable future. The sponsor of an immigrant must have domicile in the U.S. before the visa can be issued. This generally means that the sponsor must be living in the U.S. In certain circumstances, however one can be considered to have a domicile while temporarily living overseas.]

We requested my husband's company to issue him with an employment certificate explaining the projects he's handling in Asia and the length of his assignment. On top of my husband's Income Tax Forms and W2s, I also included Form 2555 - Foreign Earned Income. All these documents I inserted in the Affidavit of Support Folder.

    4. On the day of your interview, it's always better to come in prepared and memorize important details mentioned in your forms. It's ridiculous if you would have to dig thru your documents every time you need to answer simple questions such as:

    - Petitioner's full name (emphasis on the middle name)

    - Place of residence in the States

    - Your petitioner's employment background

    - Wedding date, or the day you and your spouse first met

    - If you are constantly travelling, dates when you left and arrived in diff. country, and length of stay.

It creates a positive impression if you remember these things by heart.

    5. You have to remember that NOT every consul would like to view ALL your documents. In our case, the consul just asked for the wedding photos but she complimented us for coming in "extra-prepared." So yeah, it's a major plus to carry excessive amount of proof, documents and forms - than lacking.

To everyone who's scheduled for an interview, keep smiling and be charming! I hope you find this post useful and best of luck!

we really appreciate this systemized filing of documents presented to CO thanks for sharing to all VJ members, God Bless!

  14. If you are living together in the PI you should marry there and apply for a spouse visa, not a fiancee visa. Spouse visa Direct Consular Filing is faster and results in a green card upon US entry rather than having to marry and adjust status before you can work, etc. with the K1.

Paying his bills in the US does not matter. There is no credit check. Showing current income or assets that are 3 times the required income is what matters.

    Hi thanks for the Advice

  15. Thanks Inyong :)

So you are saying my status wont be a problem, right? (thanks for the dropping a message in my inbox too) I wonder if you still remember some of the questions during your interview. Did the visa officer scrutinize your relationship with your friend?

    Thanks again.

    Caerine

By the way the CO will also ask if you met already the one who will sponsor you in person, then ask about your income, how many kids you had, about your family (parents, bro & sis) and if your x hubby is still supporting your kids, whats your purpose of going there to the US? just answer the CO's questions that's all. good luck! have determination go go go

  16. It will be a very positive thing, because it shows you have a bonafide relationship and you will be able to answer questions about him. The only potential problem is how he will financially sponsor you- he will need assets or a US co-sponsor.

Hi Penguin, nothing to worry about his financial status he is able to sponsor me of his income the only thing that matters was his presence in his place if that will affect. But as you said as long as he has the potential for a financial does not affect... thanks

  17. I am applying for a tourist visa to visit my boyfriend in the US but kind of worried about my civil status because I am still married, separated for 7 years now. We already have his letter inviting me to the US and letter of support as well with all the supporting documents that will show his financial capacity to support my stay with him. I also have my requirements completed. Except for a "good' bank account, I have my new passport, NBI, original birth certificate from NSO,marriage contract and birth certificate of my daughter as well. I also have my certificate of employment and ITR also original from BIR. And Eric, my boyfriend advised me to prepare some of my pictures with my daughter coz those can probably help to convince a visa office that I am coming back.

What worries me most now is my status. What will say if the visa officer ask my relationship to my boyfriend? Is my status a problem? I am not good at making up stories. There were some who advised me not to tell my real relation to my bf but I think it can just make my situation worst.

Your advise will be highly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Caerine

Hi I had been on this situation 2 years ago and my sponsor was only a friend and I was still married that time yes you can go as long as

you have sufficient in financial aspect and your income can cope up your kids basic needs like food, shelter, school. then you can apply

    for B1 visa. Good Luck

  18. I am on F-1 visa in USA doing my PhD. My gf came to US on B1/B2 visa 2 months ago to attend a conference where her research paper is published. Her travel and other cost is sponsored by Higher education commission of our country of origin. Suddenly we decided to get married. We want to apply for her F-2 visa right after marriage. I have few concerns:

    1) When should we marry? (I have heard its better to get married after 90 days of her B1/B2 stay)

    2) Would it be straight forward to change her status from B1/B2 to F2 OR USCIS can object?

(Note! She already visited on B1/B2 to attend a conference 3 years ago as well and went back to home country. We didn't know each other at that time)

    Thanks a lot

    BE WARNED:

You must qualify to file for an I-130 in the US. Not everyone does, and in some cases doing so can be considered fraud and result in being deported and banned from re-entry into the US for a period of time. If you attempt to file and you do not qualify your legal status in the US can be placed in jeopardy. J1 Visa holders will almost always require a waiver and should consult with an immigration lawyer or the USCIS for more information. If you have any doubt, consult an immigration attorney.

If your fiance/fiancee came to the US on a tourist visa with the intent of immigration and marriage, and you are not yet married, then he/she should return to his/her home abroad, and the K-1 visa should be filed (using an I-129f) instead of the I-130 to avoid a denial, deportation, or even being banned from re-entry to the US.

If you are already married, and your spouse came to the US on a tourist visa with the intent of immigration and marriage, then he/she should return to his/her home abroad, and the I-130 (or along with an I-129f for a K-3 Visa) should be filed with the relative outside of the U.S. to avoid denial, deportation, or even being banned from re-entry to the US.

The above conditions are serious and can result in the separation of families for many years if not taken seriously.

As far as I knew, You did not mention what country are you, If the origin from the Philippines she should exit first as completion of her B1/B2 visa then the next step you will do is to file another visa for her, like K1 or K3.
