- i am married to a Yoruba man, that i file for with k-1 visa, in the beginning of the k-1 process he told me that he have a Son but he is not married to the mother of his child. Just now the mother of his child is asking me to send money to her in Nigeria. i told her fine, "just provide me your id information". her id information shows my husband last name, I am very upset, because this proves to me that she is really his wife.
she tells me that the reason she have the son's father last name is because of the birth. Is this true Dwheels76?
because later in life, if i decide to live with my husband in Nigeria. i will definitely not tolerate having two wives in the same house.

For her having his name means they had some form of traditional wedding. Probably no official paper registered. But in Nigeria a Traditional wedding means more than a white wedding with a marriage certificate. Many do this to not bring shame upon the woman for having a baby out of wedlock.
For immigration purposes he is married and you can best believe they will find out this information. So be prepared for a uphill climb.
Ask you fiance' when did they perform the traditional wedding? Ask her. And why is she asking you for money that seems way out of line.

Hi Everyone! I miss you all! Just a little update, Yesterday was my 2years anniversary with hubby, Things are moving along nicely, He already been 10 months since his arrival he working, and he brushing up on his English! He don't like the cold nor the snow. LOL. Over all thing couldn't be better. Wishing all best to all the recent filers who have gotten approved. and to those who are joing the crew. Good Luck. Hi pls i'm in tears!! My k1 visa wasn't approve...the lady gave me my passport and holdon to my facebook messages and told me they we send it back to uscis to reveiw and they will contact my fiancee to provide bonafide info'..do u think theres hope? Or what should we do? How long could it take them to contact uscis?

Prepare for you next steps get married but first review review the questions asked and your response. Older woman younger man for a K1 just won’t fly in Lagos. It’s been years since it has happened if at all. They want to see commitment and I feel when the woman especially is older K1 they deem for young folk. I feel it’s there way of slamming the age gap. So get married if that’s your only red flag issue. But do review.
