Same thing happened to me. 4 weeks after I applied, I still didn't receive anything.

I went back, showed them the old letter. They gave me a new letter saying wait longer, and I had it within a few days.

I called USCIS today and got my tracking number for my EAD/AP card. Turns out it was mailed from Kentucky. Must be where they are produced.

Congrats! You mean it got picked up by USPS, right? I cannot answer where but you can call USCIS to obtain the tracking number

It got picked up by USCIS yesterday, July 12th. Any idea where they picked it up from? My local office, or somewhere else??

I got my second EAD/AP update yesterday. Another 'its in production' message.

Anyone know where it's being mailed from??

He would need a visa to enter, pretty elementary stuff, and he is working for a law firm?

He is indeed.

So, just to confirm. If he was to go home for a visit, he could. BUT, he while at home he woul née to go to the Embassy in Dublin and have an interview and get his visa stamped in it in order to come back to the States. His paperwork is not enough without a Visa. Right?

The H1B Visa would be obtained at the Consulate.

Thanks for the reply. So basically, he has all this paperwork saying that he has been working witha law firm since whenever and they will sponsor him through October 2013, BUT he needs to have an interview at the US consulate to get his stamp and ensure re-entry? Is that how I should read this?

It's an odd situation because he went from J-1 visa DIRECTLY to H1B. He didn't leave America during that time or hasn't left since. He is due to travel home for a vist on Thursday... but now he doesn't know whether or not he will be allowed back in.

The I-797 is only a receipt notice, it is nopt a visa approval. Are you sure he has had his interview and been approved for H1B? If so, I would probably make an infopass appointment to get the stamp in the passport, just to be save.

Hr hasnt had an interview. He just had a petition submitted and approved. Is the interview mandatory,do you know?

He won't need AP, but he may have difficulty coming back if his visa situation is not sorted.

- Is he still on the J1? If so, how long has he got left and is a H1B interview scheduled yet?

- Does he have the H1B already?

He is not still on the J1.

He has the H1B, it expires in Oct 2013.

What he DOESN'T have is a stamped H1B visa in his passport.

He has proof from his employer that he is employed and that he is being sponsored by them through Oct. 2013.

He has his 797 saying that he's legal, I guess.

He has an I-94.

NO H1B visa stamp.

Any ideas?

I have a friend who came here on a J-1 Visa.

During that time he found employment willing to sponsor him with a H1B visa.

He is due to travel home for a visit on Thursday but is now not sure if he has AP to travel home??

Anyone help with this??

No we haven't. USCIS just keeps giving us different answers! NVC has no records of the petition to date which means USCIS has continued to screw up and the case has not been retrieved from the Records Center yet. 4 weeks for a retrieval seems unreal! I have contacted the local Congressman & need to submit them all my communication with NVC before he'll start inquiring. 9 weeks have come & go! So sad.

Don't worry, once your congressman gets involved your stuff will 'magically' show up. Thats what happened with us.

my question is how does this work? she enters with k1 visa, she applies for ssn, we get married, then she applies for EAD, and how long does that take?

From the time you send the AOS package away it takes about 60-70 days to get the EAD.

Did you get this issue resolved?

Same thing happened to me. I NEVER got my Noa1. Only my biometrics letter.

I rang them and they said that they usually don't resend the NOA1's. Told me it wasn't a big deal.

I have since got my EAD/AP approved, so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Once they have cashed the checks and sent you the Bio letter you should be fine!

Do you know if the EAD timeline is based from Priority date of AOS Filing(NOA1) or is it based from the day of Biometrics?

As I have seen on May Filers, its dependent on the NOA...

My NOA is May 01, 2012 and biometrics is June 12. Still no EAD as oftoday (

anyway, I've been browsing jobs at the same time but to date I could not find anything close to my dream job

So maybe thats why my EAD is not yet approved, I'm just thinking out my mind..

I think it's the NOA date. You should have yours very soon!!

I am 34, have a valid driver's license from my country, have EAD and all other requirements listed at gathergoget website. Am i still required to take this Drug and Alcohol Awareness Course (DATA)?

I called their customer service number and the lady who i spoke with was not sure about her answers and decided to transfer me to somebody who she thought would be able to help me better. Unfortunately i had to wait for over 15 mins and got disconnected.

To you fellow vjers who are done with this step already, i hope you can enlighten me. Please...

I didn't have to do the DATA course. I'm sure you won't either.

Just to add to this.

When I went to get my Florida drivers licence they also wanted my marriage cert to prove I was married EVEN THOUGH THAT IS NOT A REQUIREMENT TO GET A DRIVERS LICENCE!

There was no arguing with them though. They were acting like a bunch of uppity, power-tripping.... you know whats.

My I-94 was due to expire in 2 weeks but they issued my DL for a year. I did not have, and STILL do not have, my EAD/AP.

Where is my EAD/AP approval!? C'mon USCIS!

I'm at 66 days now...

Text and email received that my EAD card has been approved. I'm soo happy since I filed my I765 separatley on May 24, can wait to have it in my hands finally

05/14/12 - E-mail/text notifications received

05/21/12 - NOAs (hard copies for AOS and I-130 received)

05/21/12 - Appointment notice for biometrics received (June 6th at 11 AM)

05/21/12 - Mailed out I765

05/24/12 - I765 received by USCIS

05/22/12 - successefull walk-in biometrics done at Holtsville, NY

07/04/12 - Text and email- EAD card approved

That's what we had to do. It was 7 1/2 weeks before our file showed up at the NVC.
