  1. We decided not to buy a ring in the Philippines because they just kidnapped a woman there that was married to an American. We just didn't want to advertise it. We did visit a dentist and I am dropping just short of a carrot on her teeth. Her teeth look great but she is a typical Filipina who can use some work.

hummmmm KIDNAPPED!!! why im still here????why other filipina fiancees and wives are still here and there and everywhere? we all are wearing engagement rings/wedding rings..but so far..no one ever kidnapped anyone :)

you're amazing one.you still have a lot to learn about filipino...CULTURE AND TRADITION..

    good luck and hummmm

  2. I have met the woman I want to marry on-line and visited her two months later for 11 days. I am interested in those who know others that have been successful after only one trip, not two trips, not three or more but one trip !

    More information...

My due diligence and hours of Skyping with her proved successful because we had the best time together, we do want to be married and have children together, we will be able to show 1-3 hours of chat logs up until our interview, there will be phone calls and many, many emails through this process. I am very orgainized and documented. We spent 11 days together in a resort in Cebu. Provided that she stands up to the grilling of the CO in Manila, what do you think our chances are since we have only met once ?

    Barriers to travel...

My job in technology makes it difficult for me to travel again for 2 weeks straight and it is exspensive (all cost were around $ 5,000). I know a ticket only cost $ 1,700 but there are other cost. How big of a hurdle do you think we will climb to get the Visa Approved?

    Commitment...

yes, I will go back again but she wants me to save the money and so do I. Success of a relationship doesn't matter on the length of time you have known someone but rather picking the right someone from the beginning. I was intentionally skeptical of every woman that I met and asked lots of questions before I got involved with this woman. She is a keeper. Please don't judge our fast decisions as we know the risk. I have people all around me that dated for years in America and are getting divorced. This woman and I are both cooperative and supportive people and I think we have a great chance and I am willing to accept a calculated risk because of who I think she is and who I am.

    hello...

my fiancee and i met in person only once..that was january 2009...(i met him only oct.2008)...january 15 ,2009 when we had our engagement party wtih family and friends.

we started processing for our k1/k2 petition august 2010...(it took time due to my annulment).dec.30,2010 when our I-129F approved.and now...after yrs..of waiting..my daughter and i will fly to us on the 23rd of august.

    good luck on your journey

  3. Oh Jesus I can't afford another trip to Rio the Janeiro, I'm completely broke and so is my fiance. Would it be possible to mail it to them like, overnight or something, or would I have to go there personally?

I said it wrong, it's not a "hole", it's more like a tear. I just measured it, it's about an inch long...

Edit: here's a picture of it (that's centimeters, not inches)

    B4zHg.jpg

uhuh i guest best to let the embassy know about it

    good luck

  4. My Fiance got section 221 G given to him at his interview. Can any one tell me what this means? I know that our package is getting sent back to the USCIS but what does it mean a denial or the want something else or more info if so will i get a note or something telling me what they wait??? any help please thanks for taking time to read this and answer

    Bridgettewarren

sis,not all 221g form is for denial.it is depending on the box the CO checked.on my case..may 24,2011..was my interview..and the CO given me a 221g form.at it was checked on the box that needs another documents to be submitted then he returned to me also our passports.

after few days i sent the documents..and now i have our visa and we will be leaving on the 23rd of aug.:)

    good luck!

  5. Hey everyone!

We are about to begin the process, I need to get some things straight in my head first. Perhaps you can help me with this!

So, we have everything gathered, signed and dated where applicable, highlighted dates on additional info (flight iteneraries, emails, skype logs).

Now, am I right in saying we should now copy our entire package TWICE?

Then, I, the foreign fiance, should keep this safe and take it with me to my interview in a few months? Correct?

    Thanks!

yes.just like what i did on mine;)my fiancee sent me copies on all docs he submitted to the USCIS for my interview references.and it did great help bcoz the CO asked me copies of this and that;)

    good luck!!

  6. Ahh, I'm sorry your your troubles.. Just wondering and if you don't mind me asking..what did both of your fiancees do that make you feel they were both after your money?? It might be helpful for others to know, and also I'm just really curious! Like others have said, stop looking and also how have you been finding these women? Remember the saying, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me" Goodluck on your future endeavors!

    lol you are right

  7. Just got woke up with a text to call my fiancee... she just was telling me the visa interview was passed and they told her she was approved, but she did have to go to the NSO and get an additional doc with her ex-marriage name on it as it was when she was married 12 years ago ... then she is to send it and the passport in to the embassy for processing. :crying: They also gave her a paper to send in with it and the 2Go forms and told her it was a free shipping service.

Once she gets the required doc, what time frame would we be looking at? Does the processing take place rather quickly? The CO did tell her she was approved upon arrival of the additional doc.

hey,i have been in her shoes almost more than a month ago

let me give you the time frame i had before my daughter and i got the visas....:

may 24,2011 was our interview...the CO told me that i am approved for a visa.BUT in order for them to complete the process for the visa.he requested me to submit an NBI with an AKA name from my previous married..our passports were back to me and on the 221g form it says that passports should be mailed together with the required documents.

it took me 8 working days before i was able to submit the required documents bcoz my name was HIT AT THE nbi.

june 9,2011 when i got my NBI.....on that very same dayi sent the all documents...

june 13,2011 when the embassy got the docs...

june 14 when the CO got hold of it.

june 30, when our visa approved and printed

july 6, when i got our visa packets

i hope this can be a help....

    good luck!!

  8. innocent.gifHi! After 12 days of waiting, my fiance finally got her visa. She received a clear plastic pouch containing her passport and the yellow envelope. But we are kinda worried because the yellow envelope was ripped diagonally on the corner, it was wrapped by a rubber band and where can we find the immigrant data summary? Is this normal? Should it be entirely sealed? I have seen the same issues in the forum, what can you say about this. Will this affect her arrival at the POE? Thanks.blush.gif

    first of all...congratulations!!!

Corner would be ripped diagonally that's normal..hehehe i was surprised too when i got mine.

    good luck....

  9. Thanks for the idea Daisy 22. But Casa Bocobo is too expensive to live there for the next 6 months. She is looking more to share a room or bedspace. Thanks a lot.

wow that's quite long...there's an adriatico pensionne..also near from the st. lukes.

  10. try in casa bocobo hotel, it is near in saint lukes and it is safe there.

this hotel is cool and safe with free buffet breakfast.my daughter and i stayed there for 2 weeks its only 1945 for double bed...

its walking distance from the st.lukes.

  11. should i bring my son to the interview? i know that you're not required to bring the k2 applicants along...but my son is an american citizen. if i take him, will they focus too much on him? will it lessen the chances of having my visa approved? thanks!

well,if he is a derivative child (k2)you should bring him to the interview.and you should also fill up a form for him for k2.

but i wonder sis...if he is an american citizen..why he's on k2?...hummmm kinda confusing :blink:

    good luck!!

  12. You make a very good point about going to St.Luke and getting the test done. I wish she lived in Manila but she does not so her taking time off work and flying alone are two things that don't work for us. I have just been reading all the people who are delayed from this test and it worries both of us that maybe we should be proactive and not wait to find out that she needs treatment. When do you receive the MNL#? Once its forwarded to the NVC? Our timeline indicates that we should be getting our NOA2 in late Sept time frame..if it comes earlier then that is awesome. I would just love for her to be here for Thanksgiving and Christmas.:)We filed June 20, so to be done with this part of the process and have her here in the U.S. in less then 6months is a blessing.

We will be getting the test done where she lives in Valencia City, at least we will have a little peace of mind and be ahead of the game if anything was to show up. I really like your idea of going to Manila.

have to make sure that during the medical test..no CAUGH :innocent:

  13. I was talking to my fiance and we talked about going ahead and getting a test done prior to the exam and interview. We don't expect any NOA2 notification till the end of September. The X-ray itself is very inexpensive and to have a doctor examine the xrays is also very inexpensive. So to avoid delays and to ease our minds, we was thinking of getting it done outside of the ST Lukes exam and just bring the xrays and exam documentation to St. Lukes when she is scheduled for the medical. Is this a good idea or should we just wait for the medical at St. Lukes?

    Eddie

i may say...better first have an xray outside st. lukes just to make sure that nothing gonna have problem when the medical time comes.that's what i did :innocent::thumbs:

but when the medical time comes i did not bring my xray result

  14. With regards to school, you would have to check with the school you are interested in.. my school let me apply pending a GC but in order to enroll for classes I had to have it already :)

hello....what graduate courses you're taken up as of this moment?im have a master in management units in the philippines and im thinking to continue my studies...i may ask sis...what particular graduate courses is in demand now a days?is university diploma is one of the requirements for upon enrolment? or the transcript of record for further studies is enough?

    thank you

  15. photocopy your Immigrant data summary...do not detach it from the yellow packet as you will have difficulty at the POE immigration...the security guard at the CFO told me to be careful with the immigrant data summary ...goodluck!

sis,im really confused on this immigrant visa summary..where can i find it?remember we talked about this before hehehe..

i noticed sis..only the cr1 and IR 1 are on this topic heheehhe

  16. So we got the visa today and it says all over it do not open-- got that.

What I wasn't expecting was for a corner of the envelope to be cut out so I can see what papers are in it. Is that normal? I assume everything is in order because the visa is in his passport and everything I guess I just want to double check because we don't want any problems at POE!

    that's fine.

  17. I'm done with my medical. Everything went well. My interview will be on August 2, I was just wondering if it matters to the consul if my fiance visited me only once. Will this be a probable cause that we won't get approved? I'm really being paranoid about the coming interview. lol

no it doesnt matter sister.coz if it does then why they've issued me a visa hehehehe.

its normal to be paranoid too  i have been there ..done this and that...

just be gutsy and make sure your documents are complete esp. the affidavit of support.

    good luck!!!!

  18. I have applied for a K-1 visa for my fiance and included her 16 year old daughter, Mae, on the visa application. They both live in the Philippines and the school system there is much different than the school systems here in Ohio. She attends private Catholic school in the Philippines and I think she is in her 10th year. Can anyone give me an idea of what will happen when the visa is approved and they come here as far as how they will determine what grade level she is placed in our school system?

I really feel a bit uneasy about Mae having to change schools and possibly being set back or something due to the changes.

I know this might not be the right Forum and please move it to the correct one if it isn't.

    Thanks,

    --Jim

hello.i have 8yrs old daughter and on k1 & k2 visa..my daughter will be on grade three for this school yr.she's also from catholic school here in my hometown tacloban, leyte.

we will leave for bardstown,ky sometime this month.we got our visa last week.the school where she will be enrolled for this school year is BARDSTOWN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.and the school principal of the said school given my fiancee a letter for my daughter school principal stating that the school credential like form 137 should be given to me to hand carry to the states.

nothing much to worry about filipino children adjustment when it comes to communication because our second language is english...and kids can understand and can comprehend on that particular field.though kids will kinda have a hard time on adjusting the environment...(i guess)

    good luck on your journey!!

  19. I sent in copies of my divorce decrees with my 129f. The first is from 1978 and has a stamped seal on it but it doesnt show up on the copy. The second is just a copy from the copy I had. It's from 2002 and has no stamped seal on it. Is this going to get me an rfe or our these copies enough? What will I need for my fiance to take to the interview?

nothing to worry about that.just send her a xerox copy of your divorce decree.bcoz the C.O will just wanna see or have it and it will be returned to your fiancee. just like wat he (the CO) did to me.

    good luck!

  20. suggest you get an SSN 2 weeks after poe date (use advanced search tool, terms 'SSN SSA SAVE' for more steps)

then after you marry, file the AOS packet with the EAD (free to file)

usually 3 months after filing the AOS packet, EAD is approved, then you can work.

total time from POE date? hard to guess, most depends on when you file the AOS packet.

    thank you sis!

    god bless!!

When you enter the US you have 90 days to marry. After you marry you can apply for AOS. When you apply for AOS you can also apply for your work authorization document. When you either have the work authorization document OR your green card, you can start working

For your driver's licence, see the requirements in the link below

    http://drlic.kytc.ky.gov/non_us/non_us_ctzns.htm

    Good luck

    thanks!!

    have a happy day!
