  1. hi sis wat d u mean of that AKA for nbi?

AKA a name that has a supplied last name from your first marriage.

the USE got the passports and NBI last monday and i called them yesterday and adviced me to call again on friday..to check if those documents are already in the hand of the CO who'd interviewed us.

i hope i will get our passport with visa within next week or within this month :)

  2. Good day!

To all VJ friends and members, I just want to share all of you about my case, my interview is on Feb. 01, it is pretty fine the consular question and I answer all his question but he focus to my AOS. He ask me addt'l AOS of my husband step dad because my husband Mom and his sted dad are filing same income tax return so he required me my husband step dad I-864A form only, then he gave 221 (g) letter. The embassy gave me further instruction how to sent the addt'l docs. together my passport its via 2GO. I sent the addt'l docs. on Feb. 14. together my passport in 2GO and got text message from 2GO on Feb. 15 that Embassy Manila received my docs. Did anyone here in Phils. got same problem like mine that consular officer issued 221 (g)? And how long it takes to get your visa on hand?

I hope somebody here same problem like mine and kidly share.

Thanks a lot and God Bless.

  5. hello vjers!

    how's everyone?

i wanna ask anyone of you guys if how many day will it take to have my passport with visa since the us embassy received yesterday my 221g form together with the required document.

  6. Hi everyone, I had my interview first week of this month. All papers are okay but the consul asked one more from me - NBI Clearance (I already submit NBI clearance for my single name and married name). There's an error in my birth certificate (from NSO) but corrected it 2007 when I was in college so now they are askng for my uncorrected name. Since I have a history already, I put the uncorrected name as A.K.A and sent the clearance (together with my passport) to the embassy after 9 days.

Just wondering how long will it take for them to process it? Will it take months? Is there a way for us to find out the status of it?

    Thanks!!

hello!i just wanna ask..how long did it take before you got your visa..after sending back to the embassy your passport and nbi? we have the same case.

i sent our passport(me and my daughter) this afternnon together with the nbi with the AKA thing.

i will be awaiting for your response.my fiancee is already go gaga on this.

    thanks and god bless you!!

hummmm window 70..huhi wont forget that #.i was asigned on that window during my interview.and heck!!that guy asked me many questions..though he'd asked my daughter only 3 questions...but on me?hummm he seeks an alibi for this and for that..and what a heck!he told me.:ok.you are approved for a visa but in order for us to complete the process you will need to submit an nbi with AKA thing.and sad to say..he'd given me this holy cow...221g form and returned the passports and has a check on sent the passports and nbi to the consulate.it suck!!!!

just today..i sent our passports and nbi with aka.

i have a question to everyone...does anyone knows how long will it take for them to send back our passports with our visa??pls.help..i go gaga already on this thing!!

I hope everything goes well for me with my medical and interiew. I need your prayers. Will include everyone here in my prayer too.

    JB

  9. hi everyone, now I'm confused..because I read 1 post regarding appointment letter of K-1 and K-2..I scheduled my interview and also with my kids at the same date on june 22,2011..but when I download my appointment letter I saw only my name on it,passport no., date and UID.. do my kids need a separate appointment letter?..

    Thank you..God bless Us.

my daughter and i had separate interview date bcoz on the appointment letter..mine was may 24 and my daughter was may 25.but i brought along with my my daughter during my interview and i asked the us personnel if my daughter can have her interview on same day with me.to make it short..they allowed her..since she is a derivative child.

dear have you been married before?if you are..dont forget to bring along your annulment decree and hummm this one sucks..and this makes my visa on hold..nbi with aka name on it.

after the CO told me that i am approved but in order for them to complete the process for our visa.i should send together with our passport the nbi with aka name..and sucks..i was hit lol.and right now..i am on the 8 working days waiting for my nbi to be released then i will gonna send it to the embassy together with our passports and as they'd promised..it will be released 2 weeks upon receiving the documents

    good luck!

  10. Yes you must submit an NBI clearance on any name you have used. This includes previous married names. My wife had to submit NBI clearance on her previous married name, and another NBI clearance for a spelling error on her birth certificate.

    AKA = also known as.

after sending back the passports and NBI with aka thing to the us embassy...how long will it tale for me to know or to get our passport with visa?

  11. Halo Ganda, thank you so much sa number na binigay mo. I call them few minutes ago and they told me na I should have my visa on-hand on Monday.:dance::dance:

wowcool!! congrats dear.i will gonna copy the number ganda given to you bcoz i will also gonna call them when i send this nbi thing together with my passport.

kci was interviewd may 242011.and the CO told me that i am approved for visa but they returned to me my passport and with 221g form.and that 221g form has a check on the box that says..send back the passport together with the nbi with aka. i will gonna have that nbi on friday hehehe.

    thanks a lot!!!

  12. if after knowing that her divorce has been approved..she will received a court order and certificate of finality and then she will gonna go to the civil regestrar place where they get married and will give them a copy of the court order and the civil registrar will forward a certificate that she and her marriage is already done.and then after a month she will go to the nso office to get the CEMAR (CERTIFICATE OF MARRIAGE)the certificate of marriage has already annotation that her marriage has been done.

that's what i did on my case. sparky's fiancee and i are on same case.after the CO told me that i passed or approved for visa..he told me to send them a copy of an NBI with aka using my ex surename.

oh i forgot...the last window given me a 221g form and that form has a check on the part saying...send back to the embassy the passport together with the nbi that has an aka thing:)

  13. Sorry if I did not make my point clear.

When a foreigner has divorced a Filipino, the consul officer will know about the divorce because the information will be included in the current G325A.

If the Filipino has not gone through the process of obtaining a Petition for Recognition of Divorce duly stamped and received by a Philippines court, the Filipino will not get visa approval because the Filipino will still be married in the eyes of the Filipino government and will not be able to produce the necessary CENOMAR/CENMAR that the U.S. Embassy requires.

About the CENOMAR/CENMAR...It is my understanding that Filipinos apply for what's known as a CENOMAR. If they have never been married before, the NSO issues them a CENOMAR. If they are married, the NSO issues them a CENMAR. In your fiancée's case, she applied for a CENOMAR as she was supposed to. The NSO isued her a CENMAR because she is still married in the eyes of the Filipino government.

It is my understanding that, until she completes the Petition for Recognition of Divorce, she will not receive the proper CENOMAR/CENMAR recognizing her divorce.

I hope someone who knows the process better will chime in.

In any case, your fiancée must have received form 221g at the end of her interview. It spells out what's required of her. What exactly did it say?

if after knowing that her divorce has been approved..she will received a court order and certificate of finality and then she will gonna go to the civil regestrar place where they get married and will give them a copy of the court order and the civil registrar will forward a certificate that she and her marriage is already done.and then after a month she will go to the nso office to get the CEMAR (CERTIFICATE OF MARRIAGE)the certificate of marriage has already annotation that her marriage has been done.

that's what i did on my case. sparky's fiancee and i are on same case.after the CO told me that i passed or approved for visa..he told me to send them a copy of an NBI with aka using my ex surename.

  14. Hello all,

Well Fiancee had interview today, unfortunetly didn't go so well. Despite all the Info on here they threw new twists and hoops in our now 3 year path.

They requesting her have an NBI for her previous married name (she was divorced 17 years ago) Many people on here have been getting there visa without the cenomar (previous married and divorced to American). Well they want her to request a cenomar (wich she already did)We filed petition in the court 9 months ago but every time her hearing comes up the judge takes the day off and that is automatic 2 month extension (happend twice so far)

The third request I am still trying to figure out, they sending her to Passay and to a website for what I don't know. Either way since I deploy within 70 days and a new NBI takes 30 days or more....... Its almost guarantee that the visa be null and void before i return and be starting ALL over again for 3rd time. Why do we get nothing but bad luck? I personally talked to 2 ladies in same situation as my fiance and they got there visa no problem.

hummm we both are in the same boat dear :).but dont worry..things will go ok..

your fiancee dont need a cenomar if she'd been married before.all she needed is a marriage certificate with annotation that she's annuled.she can get and apply for it at the NSO.there is no divorce here in our country.she maybe annuled.

about the nbi thing..hummm that THING is what the CO requested from me after he told me that im APPROVED for the visa(may 242011)..but in order for them to completely process the visa i need have to send them an NBI with AKA from my previous married name.as of now i am waiting for my nbi bcoz..i got hit.its a 2 weeks waiting.it sucks but i have no choice:(.

by the way..you can ask your fiancee if after knowing and getting the divorce decree/order has been approved..did she do some processing thing or did she submit the decree order to the nso?bcoz on my situation..i did it all by myself in order my marriage certificate be annotated.

i hope this can be a help...or if you have questions on me..just send a buss and i will receive it on my e mail.

    good luck!!

  15. Anyone used the immigration service providers? The ones who promise to do the paperwork for you? Just curious if anyone has and what the experiences are. Also, which is the best.

    Mahalo.

my fiancee and i hired a RAPID VISA...though they will just advice and provide stuff needed for the petition thing.

but on my requirements for my interview...i did it ALONE..from the ds forms..and everything.but i guess that's normal...the immigration thing will just really give you advices what's for this and for that.

but to sum it up...humm i may say..they help us alot.the good thing on that site is that..on the forms for uscis thing..

i many times made mistakes on filing it..and i never have a problem for any forms bcoz i can anytime have print outs from their site;)

you can try to check this website: www.rapidvisa.com. i recomend it to my friends and they all have no problem on their application for the uscis.

    good luck!

  16. Hi! I was in AR too and it takes 28 days for me to wait to issue my visa. I also receive a 221 g form and that time I was totally freaking out coz my other friend got there visa after 3 days and mine was on AR. I was really sad and worried that time. I just thought that they will denny me for no reason. About our papers, well we are complete and he had enough money to support me coz he is in the Military. I just guess why I am AR that time because of my name coz my name was hit on the NBI coz there's a lot of the same name that I have. And the second is his address, he was in Vegas when he filed our papers and he moved here in Arizona after I received an appointment. It was really frustrating that time but I never lost hope. I keep on praying and writting a petition of every monestery to help me pray for my visa approaval. And one day the delbros txted me that my visa will deliver one to three days. I was so happy!! but I was little worried coz I just don't have any idea if they approaved my visa or the embassy denny me and send back my passport. I was thrilled and very excited to get my visa in hand. Delbros sent to me like almost one week and before that I was worried again. I just didn't know what will be the result or the delbros lost my visa. I was wondering why it takes to long for them to deliver my visa when my friend's visa deliver right after the embassy released. It was another worry, I almost lost hope then again I tried to be strong and be positive. Finally the visa delivered to me and when I open my passport it I was approaved!!! I was so happy that time when I held my visa in hand. I was at eased and feeling better. I was very thankful to God that he heared my prayers. My advised now to those who are now in AR please don't lost hope keep on praying to God just have faith on him and be strong. Never lost hope.

  17. hello Ladies and Gents:

Is it okie to filled up the DS 156 again for the second time? i filled up mine and saved already today, but while reading it i found out some info that i need to edit, my bad i havent noticed i mistyped my contact # instead of 63909... I typed 63009... also the specific date (to arrived in the US) i input there does really matter? what if I'll travel earlier or later on that date would it be alright? your expertise VJers would be great. TIA :)

you can print as many as you like.no problem on that..hehehe i remember my experienced on that ds thing...it go me gaga lol and paranoid too lololol

    good luck on your journey!

  18. Thanks VJ.even though we havent filed yet,i am learning day by day from others experience. My woman becomes a citizen (usc) in 2 weeks time and intends to file a week after. She has visited me twice in the last 6months and we got engaged on d 1st visit,my family loved her

She will be 39 next month and i am 29 already.is the Gap btw our ages wide or could be it be termed in RED FLAG

She is a Christian and i am a Moslem (we both respect our religions)

She has kids and has never being Married b4 but i do not have Kids and never Married B4

We have Pictures/Videos,constant contact details, of our relationship for the past 3 yrs

I need Candid Answers to our chances, even though i am optimistic, what r the chances at the Lagos Embassy. Please Analyse, with no Sentiments as it wont debar my intention and my chances. Thanks while i hope some others fall into this category

dont worry about the age gap.it doesnt matter much.what matters for the consul is on how you can answer the questions related to your relationship.

if age gap is red flag..then why i got an APPROVED VISA? my fiancee is 64 right now and i am 38yrs old.see the age gap?hehehehe so dont worry much about the age gap thing.focus on how you will answer the consul's questions on you;)

    good luck!!

  19. Start on Art 1 of the Family Code of the Philippines and work your way down, around Art 45 should give you a good idea of the process.

oh the word annulment really sucks. i have been there..done this and that..there are 2 things a filipino be remarry..#1--annulment(if you still have contact and know his/her whereabout) #2 --presumptive death (hehe on the family code it says..within 4 consecutive yrs of not having contact from the exhusband or exwife..a person will be presumed dead :):) )but of course you need have to undergo a legal process..

annulment is very expensive while the pressumtive death is only half of the price of the annulment thing.

good luck to you both.hope you can find a good lawyer.

  20. Hi all...well we have our interview in August...I recently went to see him about a month ago. When I was there I left him a new Ipod Touch with the Facetime app so we could talk for "free" and see each other since everything is blocked/banned where he is at. WEeeelllll, Since we have been using Facetime, I usually just call him by my phone and then he calls me back via the Ipod....so my question is this....There is NO WAY to get the records for the calls, but everyday I track the date, time and duration of the calls into a word document. Will this be a good form of evidence to show at the interview?! I am not sure what to do...ever since we had the ipods we have stopped emailing and talking as much on the phone BECAUSE we can see each other everyday. Any advice would be great! Thanks

dear,on the interview day..the pictures of you together and with him,you and your family are more important..and also, the consul will focus on asking you about him..on how you really know him.

during my interview(may 24,2011) i had everything needed the consul will ask for...but he's only ask 2 evidences of the relationship..pictures..and questions about him.no more on less.i was being asked 10 questions and my daughter luckily was being asked 3 questions hehehehe.

just pray and ask guidance to the lord..and hummmm i hope the consul who will gonna handle your case will be nice and cool...not mr. perfectionist lol.they're hard to deal with.

good luck dear!! god bless us ./.
