  1. I've figured out that somewhere between 3-5% of the filers are on VJ for the I-129F. Do you honestly think that its pure coincidence that for an entire week that people who aren't on VJ got approved? Pretty big coincidence if so. I'm quite sure that even one person out of the ~32/wk would be updating their timeline.

Where are you basing your evidence of visa filers vs vj members?

Don't read so much into it. Btw, next week. Holiday. Think it's slow now? Wait until next week.

  2. I am new to this site and find it very helpful. I am preparing for the interview as my case is at NVC. Anyway, I have a doubt over my marriage ceremony.

Actually my wife from US and I married in India despite my family consent. My parent were very hostile to this idea of getting American DIL. They tried all their best to stop this marriage though.

Because of this fact we were compelled to marry without consent and even keeping other closed family friends at dark about our date and place of marriage.

Now can this cause a case lac of document for interview. They are not even ready to meet my spouse.

can it be a deadly issue ??

If family not in attendance someone may ask for explanation.

Uscis rfe'd us.....wanted , among other things, pictures of wedding and family in attendance or explanation of their absence.

I would not worry about that though. Unless there is some law in your country that would require parental consent.

If your question is more country specific then perhaps you would get answer from regional forums.

  3. Incredible. She just found out you have these children with you? And now after arriving here tells you to sit them down and tell them they have to go? This is the most selfish thing I have seen here for quite awhile. I would never ask such a thing nor agree to it with anyone.

I would worry about the future demands and reactions.

    Agree with this.

No matter what your decision. Problems will persist as long as problems continue.

  4. I don't know were to start? She want's me to give up my two young boys to my X who is the none custodial parent. She wants her own family/kids....mmhmhm Well of course,, I understand

I said! She also can not find work. .,,,so she wants to go back.?:help:

    So sorry for your troubles.

Probably not about kids or work. Issue could be her fitting in to USA.

Does she have other friends that immigrate also?

Also....has she visit home yet after arrive USA? Could be homesick. Grass is always greener kinda thing.....

    Good luck to you both

  5. I didn't even know the UK forums could answer those kinds of things! Thanks for the recommendation.

By affidavit of support, do you mean the I-864? My darling mother has agreed to be a joint sponsor, so she will promise the government to heroically step in if my fiance ever becomes destitute.

    Anything else I've overlooked?

Unless you have some kind of unusually difficult situation, you can do without the lawyer.

If you can read and follow instructions the lawyers are basically just good at depleting your money IMO.

As far as the K1. That is visa you guys to marry in USA. Cr1 is visa you apply for if you marry there, then file

    Good luck

    Grats

  6. I assume the answer is no, but no harm in asking.

In my I-130 packet, as required, I included a copy of the divorce decree dissolving my previous marriage. DHS responded with an RFE, demanding that I prove I fulfilled the minimum time of residence required in the jurisdiction where my divorce was granted. In my case, this was the US Territory of Guam, which requires a minimum stay of 7 days from at least one party to the divorce.

Now, I have copies of my flight itinerary which shows that I arrived in Guam and departed precisely 7 days later as well as a letter from my hotel, confirming that I stayed there for six nights. Furthermore, I have an original, officially stamped interlocutory judgement of divorce from the Superior Court of Guam, in which it is stated: "The Court finds that it has acquired jurisdiction over this matter and finds that the defendant has been a resident of Guam for at least 7 days."

Given that the court has ruled that I fulfilled all the statutory requirements for filing a divorce petition, does DHS have any authority to declare the court's decision invalid? If not, what recourse would I have were DHS to exceed its legal authority?

Your answer here in your previous post I think

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/374531-are-dhs-agents-forbidden-to-think-logically/page__p__5477672__fromsearch__1#entry5477672

You can either comply with them or not. DHS not saying a court decision is invalid. DHS saying send us this proof that is required.

If you have the info. Send it.

  7. Does DHS generally try to screw with petitioners who have been divorced? If I had gotten divorced in, say, Connecticut, would they be demanding proof that I had satisfied Connecticut's six-month residency requirement? It's difficult to believe that DHS would employ people lacking the logical capabilities of a second-grader.

    feel for you.

just give them what they want. and stay cool when dealing with them. venting here not so bad, venting to them will screw your #### up.

  8. Once an interview date is scheduled and the Embassy has the file, contact the Embassy and see if they have an earlier date available.

    this (above)

    use email.

    email the embassy

be polite. state current interview date, and ask for an earlier date should one become available.

    include:

    current scheduled interview date

    case number

    petitioner name

    dob

    beneficiary name

    dob

    good luck

  9. I am gathering all the required documents. On form DS230, please I was just wondering if it is ok to fill it out for my spouse, then scan and email it to her for her signature. After her signature, she will then mail by Fedex, DHL or any other mailing service together with other required original documents such as police certificate, birth certificate, marriage certificate, et. Your thoughts. Thanks.

personally imo, i dont see why not, as you are creating the document yourself using a printer...what is difference if printed here or in another country?

i would ensure that the scans and printings are clear, and do not alter the size of the document.

that said. i did not do this, just my 2 cents on the matter.

  10. Don't know if this is the best place to post these questions, but I think I could be using this website more effectively. How can I search through posts for keywords and similiar questions that I have? I don't want to post questions loads of people have already asked.

How do I update my timeline? I see some people have in their timeline when they met and moved in together, when they visited each other, etc. When I try to update it only gives me the options to update when I filed for what. I would like to add more information so if anyone else has a similiar situation they can find me.

    Thanks for your help.

click on your profile name in upper right corner...you can see your profile. you can find the "timeline" and "photo" selection on left side under "my information". click the one to change, either then has options to edit, add, organize timeline or photos.

    the "search " function....wow...does anyone use that ...? :P

    good luck
