  1. My wife and I are 100% bonafide, but we got married rather quickly. We met online on a facebook dating application in April of 2011. I visited her for the first time in June, 2011. I then returned back to Indonesia in September 2011 to marry her,

We were slightly quicker. Very much 100% bonafide. Met online in April 2011. Met in May 2011. Married in June 2011.

We have submitted pictures from every trip to visit. I have visited 9 times in last 1 year. I hope that they find the quantity and quality of evidence sufficient and do not have issues with a quick marriage. (We married so quickly because we knew this visa would take forever. The sooner we were married the sooner we could file for the visa.)

    Police Records

Indian Police Clearance Certificates should be obtained as follows:

All Indian IV applicants aged 16 and above, residing in India, should obtain police certificates from the local Passport Office.

Indian passport holders applying for visas outside India should obtain a statement from their local embassy or consulate confirming they have no criminal record.

Non-Indian IV applicants residing in India should obtain police certificates from the District Police Station serving their area of residence.

Indian police certificates are not available for foreign (non-Indian) applicants applying outside India.

  3. Since your NVC stage had been completed, what did you send?

DS-230 Part 1 completed and signed by beneficiary

DS-230 Part 2 completed by beneficiary – unsigned, as of yet, per instructions

Photocopy of the Biographic Data Page(s) of Beneficiary’s Passport (also page 4, my wife has a page 4 endorsement with my last name as hers)

Original/Certified Birth Certificate of beneficiary (with an attested translation provided) and a copy

Original/Certified Marriage Certificate and a copy (we did not want to send our Buku Nikah, so we got a form from KUA,"Piagam". It is from KUA (the issuing agency, has stamps, seals, etc..) (with an attested translation provided)

and of course the photocopies of the civil docs

    hope all this helps!

  4. Oh okay, my mistake. Same building, different dept. We sent our packages to their respective addresses as stated on their barcoded cover sheets. What i previously meant by sending them together was bringing all those packages to usps the same day and sending them out the same time and pay only once, as opposed to sending aos as soon as aos status becomes paid, and then wait for iv status to become paid before sending iv package.

Probably work in same, but getting really cautious when dealing with immigration people.

I will be so happy when journey complete.

  5. Assalamoalekum Dear all Members, need your urgent help.

In NVC stage, need to submit originals?specifically Original Police Certificate?

I am going to send the attested photocopies of Birth Certificate,Police Certificate and original English translation of nikah nama.Because at the time of interview we need to show them all the original ones. If original documents of Police certificate or birth certificate misplace in any stage of NVC. So it will take alot of time and effort to make it again.

    Please update me asap.

    Salaam

NVC needs originals or certified copies from issuing authority.

  6. Same address, only the ATTN is different.

If ATTN is different then it is a different address. Consider you send both together. Only one gets to correct desk. Now you are counting on the generosity and goodwill of an employee of the NVC to route and send the other package correctly and in a timely manner. That employee might not be in a hurry. Your package could (IMHO) be slowed by not sending to correct ATTNs.

  7. Hi all,

please help me on this :)

when is the best/perfect time for me to do medical check up? my husband said we have to wait for our Interview letter from NVC/embassy. he said so, cuz NVC said so. but when i asked friends (from Indonesia) some of them said i can do it b4 interview letter (cuz they did it) others said i have to do it b4 interview letter, now..im a bit confused here, so can anyone tell me? i will mail my ds 230 package tomorrow, hubby paid all the bills too, so now he's waiting for my DS 230 only. i really hope things go well with his I 1864 n my DS 230. if it works fine, how long will it take till they assign interview letter? your experience??

thanks so much for any help :)

    Salaam

    Our ds230 package approved quickly.

Medical one day, then 3 days later we had results. You can wait to do medical.

Jakarta embassy scheduling about 7 weeks in future for interviews so no rush.

I insisted my wife have a copy of her interview letter at her medical yet no one asked her for it.

    (surprised but they didn't )

Nvc told me same. "must have interview letter to do medical".

    Good luck to you guys

  8. I received an RFE from the CSC stating that I MUST submit a Marriage Certificate showing the page and book number of the book in which it was recorded. My county now records these electronically, thus there is no page and book number. What would you guys recommend I do?

I have no experience with this electronic record, however, IMHO I would write a letter explaining that. Perhaps you could get something from county registrars office stating same.

  9. I sent the DS 3032 email but AOS bill hasn't been generated yet.

Should AOS and IV packets be mailed separately or together?

Basically I know that AOS and IV bills be invoiced on different dates.

But I want to know if I should pay AOS bill and mail the paperwork for that

and then pay IV bill and mail the paperwork for that - meaning 2 separate mail packages sents on different dates?

or it is recommended to wait and mail both AOS and IV packets together.

    Thank you.

    We sent separately.

  10. so I just recieved a text from them and I checked online. and it says RFE. What is that ? what could they ask for again.? I havent gotten the actual letter yet. can you guys give me some feedback on this. thank you

We got an RFE back at the uscis stage. Our letter contained a list of required items. We complied with list and cleared uscis. (took another 2 months).

Comply with their requests. Ours were "how met", how I got time off from work for travel, how pay for travel, photos of wedding, photos from trips abroad, etc.

Your RFE could contain different items, just follow it and send it back.

    Good luck

  11. Hi All,

I'm new but I've been reading a lot here lately and very helpful. I have a question about my affidavit's for a bona fide relationship, for the I-130. My wife and I got married officially in the US, at a town hall in New York City, by a civil worker, with only my Aunt there as a witness. We had a traditional ceremony in Korea a month later,(with most of my immediate family, and about 100 guests) as we had originally planned before we got married.

As far as my affidavit's go, will it be an issue that I only had 1 witness to my actual marriage in the NYC? I can have loads of people attest to the fancy ceremony in Korea, but concerned UCSIS will wonder why my parents were not present at the actual ceremony the month prior. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

IMHO, I think I would include pictures from both events. I would think that would suffice.

  12. I spoke to officer there in Jakarta this last week about my wife's upcoming interview.

He said my presence not required. He said that they probably would not even talk to me. He said I could wait in lobby if I came with her.

You should probably email so as to ensure your name is on the list for entry to embassy.

  13. Hello VJ friends

I have question that I need an advice from freinds, I have already filed i30 about 6 weeks ago for my wife overseas, we been married for about 3 yrs now and I have visited her twice and it seems like nothing is happening concerning her getting pregnant. she went to see a specialist to make sure everything is OK and she did several test which proved that she having a complecations, anyway she is close to 40yrs now, the question is can use that to expedite our case? and if so how do i proceed the whole thing? what documents to show as prove?

please any advice is much welcome

    Thanks a lot

i have heard pregnancy is not a reason to expedite. good luck

  14. So i was reading that your visa can be denied on the grounds of a gang related tattoo. First off i would like to state i am not in a gang, i have never been arrested and have never commited any kind of gang related criminal offence. Ever!

But i do have a tattoo on my leg, and the thing that it is linked to has been classed as "gang related" by a few states, but not the country as a whole (and not by the state that i am entering or living in once i get to the usa).

My husband also has a tattoo like it and is in the US military...

Ive had my medical with no problems and i dont plan on showing any of my tattoos off during my interview, but do they really have grounds to deny me based upon a tattoo on my leg even if i am not part of a "gang"?

    confused.

so you have gang tats, managed to avoid arrests/convictions, and now are asking this VJ community if you can "get away with it" ?
