I had my interview scheduled today on August 24, 2020. Interview took about 30 minutes for everything including the wait time for decision making and printing the certificate. I was approved and had my oath ceremony on the spot with my citizenship certificate in my hand.
My journey has come to an end, I wish you all best of luck.
Location: Yakima Application Center, WA.

Congratulations on your interview! Wow, you filed back in September 2019 you for sure deserve your interview!))) I filed mine in February 2020.
Thank you.
Two of my friends had also applied back in September 2019 and both of them had their interviews before me, they are already US citizens now. I guess it just depends on our luck and also the state where you filed. My friends had filed in Louisiana and New York. Ohio has had even shorter processing times like two months.
If you have decided not to go, just make sure that you have a cancelation notice either in mail or posted on your online portal (just as a proof of cancelation). When mine was canceled, I had not received a notice and I had called USCIS; the operator told me it was still scheduled but about 4 days later, I received the cancelation notice.

Original Interview: April 3, 2020
Interview/Oath Ceremony De-scheduled Date: March 24, 2020
Interview/Oath Ceremony Re-scheduled Date: August 24, 2020
Field Office: Yakima, WA

My initial interview was scheduled for April 3, 2020 and then it was de-scheduled due to COVID-19.
On July 28, 2020 I received a notice for next appointment which is on August 24, 2020 (hopefully) it stays.
I am in Washington state. Most Field Offices and Application Support Centers have opened back up starting July 27, 2020 so I do not understand why they would de-schedule your interview. As someone stated, it is your choice whether you want to go or not.

Hi, I just got the email from USCIS about the Extension of the office Closure until (at least) April 7.
I have the naturalization-interview scheduled on April 8.... I am so worried! I think that, given the situation, they are going to extend further... What do you think? Thanks for your attention!
The Covid cases are still on the rise and the U.S. has topped even China so most likely and unfortunately, they might extend just like they extended from April 1st to April 7th. My Naturalization interview was scheduled for April 3rd and then ... this happened

Our interview was scheduled for March 26th. It got cancelled on March 18th. They didn't mention that they cancelled it for covid-19 reason. The USCIS wrote in the cancellation notice that the interview has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. This is the third time our AOS interview has been cancelled since January this year.
Did they send you a paper notice in mail to inform about cancellation or was it an online notice?
My Naturalization interview was scheduled for April 3, 2020 and initially they had planned to stay closed until April 1, 2020 which later was extended to April 6, 2020. I had called the USCIS contact center and I was told that if my interview is cancelled, I will receive a notice in mail. I waited till March 26 and called again because I had not received any notice in mail except two generic Emails and a text message from USCIS stating that they had cancelled and will reschedule when possible.
This time the representative told me it could be either in mail or an online notice.

I have Applied for I-130 for my spouse. I sent in the NADRA Marriage Certificate with the I-130 application. the case is at TSC .
I started reading the threads for NVC and realized that the Islamabad embassy requires the Nikkah Nama (with English Translation).
My Question is that has anyone gotten their I130 approved by sending only the NADRA marriage certificate? Does USCIS know the difference between Nikkah Nama and NADRA Marriage Certificate.
Should I try and preempt a RFE and send in the nikkah Nama Now to TSC?
PS: I am going to send the Nikkah nama once my case gets to NVC .I believe that Nikkah Nama has 4 copies, two Urdu and two English. I had sent a photocopy of both versions as well as NADRA marriage certificate. It is advised to send as much as possible with your I-130 petition however if you have already sent it then just wait for their response.
Yes, they do know the difference between Nikkah Nama and Marriage certificate so you shall be good however if they need more evidence, they may send you an RFE (Request for Evidence) in which case just follow what they ask for.

My card was mailed out on 06/14/2016 and was out for delivery on 06/17/2015 by local USPS post office ... and they have lost it. After going back and forth for several times, they have finally admitted that they have lost it and cannot track it. I called USCIS and they require me to pay $450 for a replacement card because it was not returned to them as undelivered. Anyone else encountered similar issues or any suggestions on getting a waiver?

hey if I call the USCIS customer service, do I ask for Tier 2 officer? I just spoke to someone on the customer service and she only asked for receipt number, and checked the status for me which i can see for myself on the website. She did not ask further for birthday, address etc. I even asked what address she has on the system <since i recently moved and updated my new address previously> she told me she cannot give any personal information over the phone. I can only do that through local USCIS office... sigh
How did you end up talking to Tier 2 officer? can I ask for it?
I had actually called them for two reasons. One of course my concern about the case taking so long and second was that I had changed address after filing the request and I wanted to make sure that they had the correct address. When I spoke to the first person who was a very sweet lady, she gave me same information that the case was still within the standard processing times and that she could not provide me any more information, nor could tell me about my address on file as they cannot discuss it over the phone. I stated that I had received a letter from USCIS about my changed of address request. She asked me to read it to her and I did. She herself determined that it was beyond her jurisdiction so she kindly offered to transfer the call to a Tier 2 Immigration Officer. The waiting time was 59 minutes and I was offered by the automated voice service to schedule a call back. I did receive a call next day from a Tier 2 Officer who was able to verify that they had my updated address and also told me that my case has been approved.
So ... Yes you can ask for an Immigration Officer or a Tier 2, just be polite about it though. The people we get to speak to are just the Customer Service people with little to no access to the case files.

If they do not approve the application until september, do I need to get some type of confirmation from them extending the Visa status until they do it? And also if so, do I need to go to USCIS office or they automatically do it?
IF you are an August filer and if you do not receive any confirmation then you should not wait till September. 2 or 3 weeks before you extension expires (That would be the date on your NOA1 letter of receipt which extends your visa for one year), you need to make an info pass appointment with your local USCIS office and get your passport stamped. Without that, you will have no other proof of your legal residency in the United States.
-
I am an August filer, Vermont Service Center.
After looking at my caste status on their official website for days and days and observing no change at all, I called USCIS and spoke to a Tier 2 Officer who happened to be a very nice gentleman. I provided my full name, date of birth and current address. I was told that my case has been approved as of 06/03/2016 but I may have to allow 2 weeks to receive any correspondence from them. A breath of fresh air and such a relief but still no change in the online status and even though I have signed up for text and email notifications, I have received none.
I will update my timeline once I receive an actual confirmation.

They already have the originals as you submitted. You do not need to bring anything else but maybe the photocopies of what you have already sent.
As the other members suggested, do not overthink as it will only add to confusion.
Rejection or approval depends on how you answer the questions at the time of interview. They may also return the originals to you after interview because they returned mine to me, except your passport of course. They keep the passport to affix visa on it.
Relax and prepare for your interview, do not mail them anymore.
All the best.

so when i file for a petition to lift my conditions as a permanent resident, it would be good for a year? (i heard it should be good for 10 years?)
thanks a lot guys, i really appreciate all the replies.
When you file to remove conditions and once your application is received by USCIS, they will send you a Notice of receipt which will be good for one year (keep that notice / receipt safe with your green card or passport). It takes them anywhere between 4 months to 12 months to process the application. Once your application is approved, the Green Card you receive will be good for 10 years.

Hi
Got confirmation from NVC representatives twice within this week that Singapore police clearance is not required anymore by NVC for Non-Singaporeans.
any others faced such reply? Please reply.
Thank you
Singapore Police Force does not issue COC to Singapore Permanent Residents or non-Singaporeans any more. You shall not need to provide any COC, NVC and the embassy do understand it. Still, You can take a printout of the attachment and send to them / bring with you at the time of interview. I was afraid for the same thing, the delay and NVC would not give me any letter. I contacted SPF and got this notification. I sent it to NVC along with other require documents and that was all. I was not asked for any COC from Singapore after that at any stage. However, I did have to provide them one from my native country.

I posted this as a new topic but nobody has answered maybe you guys can help me. To be sure the embassy will accept the co-sponsors Affidavit of Support how much
money should he make to be over the minimum 125%. A thousand, 2 thousand or 5 thousand?
I don't want him to be right at the 125% because I fear they would reject his I864. Somebody please help me.
Also I wrote to President Obama about my case 3 months ago. Today I got a letter from USCIS in the mail. I have not read the letter yet. I am too afraid to read the
letter. Why would USCIS be writing to me and not the Department of State? After 4 years of dealing with the visa process all my money is gone and my nerves are shot. I can't take it anymore. I feel so much pressure. If I tell my husband I got the letter he will say open it right away. So I am not going to tell him. I am just goingto leave the letter alone until I feel more courage.
Sooner or later you have to open that letter so muster up some courage and open it. Who knows what it contains, might be something good?

Approximately how many days does it take for them to deliver the passport and visa package to local American Express office after it is issued (For U.S. Embassy Islamabad, Pakistan).
I have tried calling Amex Lahore but it keeps going to voicemail, no human.
-
go to the ceac.gov website and put in your number's that was given when you are at the NVC stage. IF not there yet then once you get you numbers you can look and it tells you if you are issued, admin. processing, or what ever the CO told you during the interview. The numbers start with your country for example: ISL = Islamabad Pakistan, and then a series of numbers to follow the letters. Hope this helps..
