  1. Not earning enough and approval of paperwork don't have a direct correlation. You're approved based on the validity of the application by USCIS. The CO can handle your case as they deem fit and of course, send you through major hang ups if they are not certain of your not being a public charge or if the relationship is suspect.

I would assume that, at least 1/4 or more of the people applying for visas run into these obstacles. My wife was approved at her interview, however it was done through very careful preparation and reserach. Even the CO stated that most people do not get a visa on their 1st time or 2nd around and I should consider myself lucky to have been so well prepared. Point is, move on and tryy to bring your loved one home because you don't want to cause issues at this point which will not work in your favor...

Im guessing a lot depends on which country you're from too..

My husband is army, about to get into basic and he makes well over poverty line, its 'future money', but the signed contract has him in for well over 3years.. - and we have a cosponser making well over it aswell.. i think i am good when it comes to that ...?

  2. Some of the items are culture/religion/country specific items.

    • Jewelry Receipts (both sides) for the wedding.
    • Receipts for the party plot where the wedding was held.
    • Pictures of the Wedding in a small flip book album with family members on both sides and specific important religious parts of the ceremony (Hasta Melap, Fire Rounds, Sindoor, Mangal Sutra etc.) THIS IS VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT!
    • Hand Written Cards and letters
    • Phone Records
    • Skype Screen Shots and call history
    • Summary of Instant Messaging transcripts. Will be done on a month by month basis. (I would have over 500-600 pages if I printed it all).
    • E-mail transcripts
    • Photos showing after wedding relationship (Her parents marriage anniversary we had a small party etc)
    • Wedding Invitation (3rd Cousin's) from USA that is addressed and invited and recognizes both of us as a couple.
    • Facebook profiles showing relationship status as married to each other.
    • Honeymoon Hotel and Room Service Receipts.

This is a pretty good list for both of us as we had an arranged marriage.

Also I sent the documents today and it ended up costing me around $ 31 sending it first class USPS. Should take 6-10 days to get there.

I might be sending some more stuff as the next 2 months will have more chat transcripts so I will try to get those ready and sent that to her before the interview in early November.

    Wow,, that is a lot!

I was thinkin to take the required documentation.

Than the postcards, invitations for the wedding, pictures from the 1st wedding in USA and 2nd wedding in Belgium, pictures of my husband's visit to Belgium (he stayed for 2 months), skype records from the time we were apart, facebook things, pics from us with the family and friends, pictures from when we were back in highschool... Lots of pictures really, but I think this should cover it?! Also have receipts from our new weddingbands we got, the guestcards, weddingalbum, etc etc... Am i missing something? Suggestions?

  3. I spoke with NVC yesterday and our case is closed and they "tried" to schedule our interview. They said they were told there werent any days available in October. This is a line of ####### because the embassy told me there is plenty of availability. NVC said "Well we only schedule interviews at certain times and will not try to reschedule until 1st or 2nd week of October". She told me to email the embassy our info and inform them that our case is complete and waiting for interview scheduling and to request an October date. She said the embassy will then call and request our package if there are appointments still available! Im gonna give it a try!

On a good note our case flew through NVC so I do feel blessed to have made it this far already! Thanks to everyone who has helped me along!

I got my case closed Sept 21!

Called NVC couple times last week, they also said they TRIED to schedule, and said all I could do was wait! The case is not even in the Embassy by this time, so as a matter of fact, what CAN I do?

They never even told me that we could contact the embassy ourselves?

I am sooo lost on what to do right now?

    hi all..

my case was completed on Sep 7th 2011.. and stil i didnt recieve email from NVC.... i called them and they said that Sep is full and OCT 2... and that i should call them on the 2nd week of Oct to know if my interview on Nov or no.. I hope it will be on Nov.. :( ... i mean r they honest or jusy saying that...

and what the different between case completed or case closed.. i would like to know.. thx

Mine was complete on Sept 21st. And still no news. Also said 'call back second week of Oct. But they sure cant tell me when I would get an interview. From what I read on here, so many ppl get so many diffrent info on this by so many diffrent operators! This is frustrating, I'm lost on what to do really!

  4. My case is now completed as per NVC operator. Even though I still do not get SIF online and the AVR anyway is not updated as usual. Should I call NVC again or this is usual ?

If the operator says complete, its complete .. dont bother about SIF or AVR ... Have they given you an interview date yet?

Just got an email from the NVC saying they are still waiting for my response to the RFE they sent. I sent all the info and they should have received it on Monday. I'm all worried now!

Call NVC, speak to a human and ask if they have received/reviewed anything.. If not so, call back in a few days ... They always say '20bussinessdays" .. usually its a lot less than that ...dont worry! its getting there!

Next step is case complete,, and unlike me I hope you get an interviewdate rightaway!

  5. SIF is short for sign-in fail to the online payment portal. Until recently, if someone was unable to sign in to the payment portal after sending all documents to the NVC, then it was a precursor to a case complete. However, in very recent times, people are still able to sign into the payment portal even after they receive a case complete.

SIF means nothing, case complete means everything.

Calling NVC again,, I need more info and further process on how getting my interviewdate... This is frustrating ...

  6. Hey there all!

Just got a case complete from NVC.

I talked to operator and she said they werent able 'to schedule me' ... than to just wait untill I get any mail...

But well,, when will that be though?

Is there anything I can/may do to find out when I can be scheduled in Brussels??

    Thanks for any replies!!

    Blessings to all!

  7. Whether or not you receive an October interview date will depend on just how busy the Embassy in Brussels is, I don't know one way or the other. Realistically, you should anticipate an interview date in November and be pleasantly surprised if you get an October interview date.

I anticipate my wife will have a November interview date.

    Thank you for reply.

One phone with operator, she said they tried to schedule it but no luck, and just said to wait .. well ###### how long really?

Is there anything i can do in meanwhile?

  8. Even though they told you to wait until October 7th, I would call again on Thursday.

I guess i'll go ahead and do that,, i dont understand how it could possibly take so long to review one single paper ... ugh!

its frustrating, but we're getting there!

Nice to see the improvements for all of you!

All i'm looking forward too is my interviewdate now... Hopefully before Oct 31st ... Or is that not realistic???

  9. I got probably the same email. Can you post the wording of the email you received?I am not sure if it means the email just reached the queue to be reviewed, or that they have actually put teh document into my case file.

Here is what my received email says:

We received electronic documentation for this case. Please allow up to 20 business days from the day the email was sent for the scanned attachments to be uploaded to the electronic case file and reviewed.

    Congrats :)

  10. Still no news on NVC. How do I find out besides calling?

Will I get an email at some point? I know they have received everything Sept 3rd (tracked our package) but when we called yesterday they said they hadnt had a record of anything and we'd had to wait 20 businessdays?

Do I call them again in a couple days?

    DOS? Why call them?

    I'm a little confused here I guess..

    Thanks for any help guys!
