HELP!
So there you are, trying to find out how much the Embassy will actually have you pay them ... But this is like SOOOO confusing!
So we're all in here for CR1-IR1 ... Take a look at this link
http://belgium.usembassy.gov/visafees.html
I am confused on which amount i am going to have to pay...
Anybody who reads this link different than me? And can explain?
It'll prolly also be on the letter I hopefully will soon, receive from NVC/US Embassy BE ... But so far, nothing yet ... Still working ahead...
Anyone any advice on this?
I totally dont see what category I am ...
Pls and thankyou!

Ours is November 08.
Same here! Good luck!

Priority date? Where can I find it? Category, if you mean what I apply for is CR1 ...

I will preface my answer with this, I know your story from the April filers thread (being a fellow April filer) and I believe you don't need to worry about this. Be calm and confident when you have your interview.
To answer your question, these are some reasons and it's not a complete list:
dishonesty
CO believes you will become a public charge (you already have a joint sponsor so this is not something you need to think about)
CO doesn't believe your marriage is legitimate (see my preface statement)
I think some countries (UK being one), an appointment letter is not necessary. However, since you have yours, I would bring it. As I have said in the past, it's better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it.
Problem is : havent gottn that later in my mailbox yet ... and as we know, waiting for the NVC ... I havent even ever gotn any mail in my actual mailbox at my house from them? lol ... So, i wasnt trying to wait on that letter to come in and only THAN go do medical...
I think i'll just have to call that doctorsoffice to find out wont I?
Btw, thank you for the confidence you have in me!
But women: emotional, paranoid, worried, and this woman is alll of it at once!
Have you found any links on 'the interview denial facts' perhaps?
But seriously, thank you!!!

Any advice on this Ryan H ?
I resided in the US on J1 visa for an exchange student program ...
It was not my legal residence, yet I stayed there for over 6 months ... on that program, hostfamily what not... never got a SSN, ID, drivers license or anything..
I didnt get a police certificate for that, i wouldnt even know how... I mean, how would that place now where to look you up if you're not even subscribed in their registers ... ?
Also, didnt get an RFE for it, yet a Case Complete on Sept 21st + interview date November 8th...
Should I get worried now?
think i found the answer :
IF you…
___lived in a different part of your country of nationality for more than 6 months and you were 16 years or older at that time___
we're such a small country : we dont do such things are not able to provide for 'diffrent' certificates'
___lived in a different country for more than 12 months___
is not the case!
AM I RIGHT ON THIS?
-
No, the original birth certificate of the petitioner is not needed (I missed that earlier). For your other question, take what you have already submitted, that should be ok.

I'm on the same boat with you. My wife was here on F1 visa. She stayed for 9 months. We did not even bother with it. That's what the instructions clearly said. And nobody asked for it.
Yeah well, if you're not even 'a permanent resident to that country, with no SSN or any 'rights' ... how would you be able to get one anyway??

Hi all!
I just found out my interviewdate! So very excited, yet anxious, yet worried ... All feelings in one..
It'll be November 8th, 2pm in USEmbassy Belgium..
I was wondering : What is a reason to get denied?
I'm sure someone on here has already made a post like this, so excuse me if I am repeating...
Anyone a good link to answer my question?
Also, to be able to do the medical : Do you need to bring appt letter from NVC? Or is that diffrent from country to country? (I cant find any specifics on this matter in the medical guideline for BE! )
Alson requested documents you take with you is what it states on NVC website? Correct?
Sorry for the prolly silly questions, but I cant help but ask just for the peace of mind!
Thank you for replies!
Blessings to all of you!
Lytha!

I have lined out the things you don't need and included a brief explanation as to why you don't need it.
Do we need the original birthcertificate of the petitioner?
And, the only 'financial proof' i take with me is what i already have submitted in our case ... is that okay?
-
Are you sure ? I see that you have Belgium listed as your country. Not sure but I found the instructions for Brussels at least
http://travel.state.gov/pdf/medical/BRS-MED-ENGL-0001-1001.pdf
Yes, for the medical... No specification on whether you should take your NVC appointmentletter with you.. that was the question really .. But, i'll call one of those doctors monday and find out. Otherwise, i'll go take that medical asap and try and call Us Embassy in BE and see if they can give me an earlier date. You never know!
-
There are no specifications for my country on the medical on NVC... So idk ... How do I find out maybe?
-
In order to do the medical, do we need the appointmentletter from NVC to bring along with us?
-
congrats.....yaya....
Happy for you
Did you call or got an e-mail?
No email, no nothing! Just called!
But now we need that confirmation letter to do medical I suppose?
Let's do some more waiting to get things done lol ...
-
Congrats to those of you who have received interview dates and good luck!

AVR has changed to case has been forwarded to consulate on september 28th.
So, when I talked to an operator my case was completed Sept 21. Now I call back today AVR says case completed Sept 27th ... Does it matter to anything? Like, did they just mess up? Does it affect my interviewdate?
-
Are you guys still able to log into the payment portal? I am still able to log in and no SIF for us.
Does this mean anything?
Doesnt mean anything as far as I know ...
All of us that have interview scheduled for October still have the AVR states "Your case was completed....." and we can still logon to the payment website. So SIF is no more significant.
Thats true...
-
I am still finding myself getting angry about missing the October interviews, getting a date and finally being able to plan and see a light at the end of this tunnel would help a lot.
Totally understand this ... feeling the same way ...
-
Case complete today!!!! Come on October!!
Congrats!!! Indeed,, all waiting on those interviewdates! Keep us posted!

I just got the appointmentletter ... NO specification if I still owe them a fee ... Needless to say, I'll call and ask anyway to make sure... Other required documents are collected, calling doctorsoffice first thing monday and do medical Maybe I can push it to an earlier date, you may never know It's worth the try i'd say ... but with the embassy up here only working monday tuesday and thursday from 2 - 4pm ... I doubt it...
