  1. This is why I'm nervous about my case :(

Anyone here whose not all receipts showing up on USCIS? Hope this is not just me :(

Don't worry, all 3 of my receipts don't show up in the website. I've read that it's quite normal, and that USCIS even said not to rely on their case status updates online. It still sucks though that I don't see my case status even if it's under "Initial Review". The same thing happened to my K1 visa, so don't worry about it. You might even get approved faster than all of us. :P

  2. My fiance was with me for my interview. You'll be allowed to enter and be with your fiance/wife the whole time. Just bring your US passport with you. Don't worry, you'll be fine. Since you're there, they'll also ask you questions. They'll ask about your job, how you met each other, but mostly it'll be "Yes/No" questions. Just make sure all your documents are ready. Most important is the affidavit of support and supporting evidences. Good luck!

  3. Hi Tara, first in MN you have 60 days to change over your license, I had to do a written test...I passed! There is however the staff were not sure how the DMV will look at my I94 status...she said they may request more proof that I will be staying in the USA...I gave them a copy of my I-797..see what happens. She said if I do not get the license within a month to come back to see her. But what has me hopping mad is my RFE...which says "You submitted form 1-693, Medical Examination and Vaccination Record. However, the civil surgeon certified the exam more than one year before the date the applicant filed the Form I-485." Not wanting to swear on this message board...use your imagination....my medical was completed Aug 2, 2011, they processed my I-485 Oct 4, 2011. Somehow that does not add up to one year for me! So....I got to drive 90 miles each way yesterday to get a SSN, and Monday I get to drive 90 miles each way for a friggen INFO appointment. Good thing I keep everything related to USCIS!

    I am very cranky now!

    Lise

Damn! I don't blame you for being cranky. Looks like gas money should be included in overall AOS expenses. LOL

  4. Well, I still never received an email notifying me of my NOAs...the hard copy was good to get.

However, I did receive an email today from USCIS...the dreaded RFE. I am not going to stress about

it because I have kept absolutely everything from the get go. I will wait for the letter and do

what I have to do. At least I am here with Michael!

    Lise

Damn! That sucks. Well, at least they're going through your papers. Usually you get your EAD/AP approved a couple weeks after sending in your RFE. I'm just worried cause I haven't heard anything ever since I received my NOA1 (aside from the biometrics appointment). Keep us updated on your RFE. I'm hoping it's nothing that big. Good luck!

Okay guys big problem - I've lost my passport with my visa in it. We've been through the house and car multiple times, top to bottom, called the family we stayed with and the hotel we stayed at and it isn't turning up anywhere.

You cannot call the montreal consulate where I got my visa. What do I do?!?!

Reading this made me so nervous for you. I'm so glad you found it! Can't imagine the feeling.

  5. I paid for my own medical. I had my fiance with me, but I knew their policy of not allowing anyone in. We tried and asked if he can go in, but they said no.. It wasn't a problem, since it was their rule. He stayed in the car and went to a coffee shop to wait for me. There is a plan B. Also, there are lot of people inside the building. In the 1st floor, you don't see them, but when you go to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th, there are no available seats left. Take into account that Canadian, Australian and other countries conduct their medical here. Also, there are communicable diseases that are being treated inside. There's no need for someone to be victimized.
