  1. To play it safe, have her take everything she has taken to the interview to CFO especially if she goes to the Taft Avenue CFO. They can ask and do ask for things like a copy of any divorce decree, pictures of yoyu and your girl together. If you do not have...no sticker in the passport. Even though a copy of any divorce decrees are needed at the interview, CFO are plan pain in the butts. Go to the CFO in St Marys if you can.

Really? Well, PRISM is nearer.. so I was thinking of going there. But, I can also go to St. Mary's.. It just takes more effort. I will think about it. Thanks for your response, it really helped a lot. Basically, they ask for evidence. GRRRRR.. Will get that done. Thanks :)

  2. Question:

I was looking at the CFO website and checking what documents are needed. On number 4, it says there "other documents".

What exactly are those other documents? How vague can it get. LOL

Do I need to bring proof of my relationship with my fiance? Or other papers or documents? Help please. :)

  3. you can take the CFO at any time. It seems to work much better IF you take it BEFORE the medical and embassy interview. The counselors feel better that you are more informed on things. At least that is what I am hearing from those who are traveling to US. the family I am involved in:I am bringing a niece of the family. One girl has her parents traveling in a few weeks, and the aunt has two brothers traveling in a month, plus the daughter hopefully in a year or two. I am involved in a while new section of the family in the village. But it is like a section of the village is already here in my town.

Once you take the CFO guidance session, when you leave the Philippines, you can stop at the CFO desk in NAIA and get your sticker showing the certificate (looks like a green check). You do not have to go to the CFO office unless you want to. the key is to have two valid id's for the guidance class. If you want the certificate and the sticker at the same time, that is only at cebu. In manila, you go to the center, then to the CFO main office.

from the CFO face book site: CFO's extension desk is located in all 3 terminals of NAIA.

(the last I heard the extensions desk hours at 6 am to 11 pm - airport hours - but not confirmed recently.)

Just know the CFO is ONLY part where the Philippine government really can exercise control. EXPECT additional requirements at times. Sometimes it goes smoothly. But in my case where my fiance IS significantly younger then me, I expect massive problems.

great information! Thanks! Might have it done anytime soon :)

  4. your passport is delivered to you after the interview with visa in your passport. you can take the seminar before the interview, but they will not but the sticker in it until you have your visa. after you have you passport with visa, you'll need to go back to CFO for the sticker.

Okay! Is it wise to take the CFO seminar already even before the medical and interview? Is that allowed?

  5. Wow! I didn't know that they would take your passport after the medical, and you will get it when they issue the visa? That's new news to me. So, it is best to take the seminar before the medical and interview?

  6. I just want to share this, last week May 12-13 (thursday-friday) I went for medical.

I went at 8:00AM and got out at 11AM, my medical exam went well and they asked me to return the next day for the vaccine at 9AM and i was done at 10AM.. that was fast. no hassles and no long lines.

By the way, bring 2 copies of appointment letter, 3 pcs. 2x2 pictures (ears should be exposed and no earings) I had to repeat my pictures because they did not meet the standards of st.lukes, plus photocopy your passport. no food allowed just water in a bottle (not C2 or soda or anything with color they are very very strict).

If you are on your menstruation, just dont go because some tests wont be done when u have your period.

    Good luck...

Thanks for the picture info! Will have it redone.

  7. lol @ competition. I totally feel ya on that. But then when I read consulate reviews about UK they barely even look through your evidence it seems and they ask very straight forward questions. I think all will be ok :)

I don't think there's anything to worry about in regards to the online. Go by that paper, for sure! it's official!!

And give NVC a little time. It may still be early :)

    Yeah, thanks Dizzy :)

  8. i'm so confused, on monday my bf told me he got the NOA2 on the mail... i checked the uscis website and it hasn't been updated, and he hasn't gotten the text saying we have been approved... the "NOA2" is dated on may 2th... i called the NVC today and they haven't gotten it and today is 12!!!

i just dont get it, i dont know what the heck he got... i doubt is the NOA2.

    any thoughts ????

    Setherwyn,

Same thing that happened to us. Case Status is still "Initial Review", no text or e-mail, but last May 6th, he got the NOA2 in the mail. Safe to say, we were both extremely surprised! We called NVC, but it's still too early, and our NOA2 is dated May 3. We'll call again tomorrow. Weird, huh?

  9. No. He can scan the NOA2 and send it to your email. medical at slec does NOT need the original NOA2,Only thing i brought in as originals is my passport andID pictures.

Hmmm.. Let's see. So, all I need is my printed out NOA2, ID pictures, some ID's, passport, and that's it? Am I missing something?

  10. Before answering your question, let me ask you this first. Does your fiancé earn the minimum requirement (for you and his household size) from his/her employment? (I'm assuming their job isn't collecting stuff but I could be wrong.)

The reason I ask is that if his/her income (from working) is sufficient - there is no need to list personal property; the same goes for bank-account info, stocks/bonds, real estate, etc.

    Hi Otto,

He earns an average of more or less $30K per annum. Does this mean we can just leave these items blank?

  11. Good day!

My fiance is in the process of filling up the Affidavit of Support and we are kind of clueless of how to answer item #7. See, he is a collector of stuff, and he has watches, guitars, stereos, and other vintage stuff. We are wondering if we need to have this appraised and get an appraiser? We thought that was expensive, but do we really need to do it? Please help us on this.

    Thank you so much.

  12. By the way guys,

I know that this might have been a fluke, but a pretty good one!

Yesterday morning, I had my fiancée CALL uscis, just to check if we were approved and they said that they haven't processed us yet. Which I accepted since we were not at our 5 month mark yet.. But then last night we got approved... fluke or did that call help?

for you people still waiting on your NoA 2's maybe it's worth a shot just to call in a friendly matter, specially if you are not at your 5 month mark yet

    Worth a shot?? ;)

Yep! We called a couple days before the 5 month mark. Hubby was so calm. If I were to call, you'd here the impatience in my voice. He was polite. Next day, NOA2.
