  1. Had my interview today. It was for 11:10am but I was called at 11:00. My IO was Mark, really nice guy. All went really well and spent a lot of time talking about other things than the application. the questions were:

Who is the father of our country?

    How many voting members?

Which month do we vote for President?

    Name of chief justice?

War fought by US during 1900's?

We elect a US representative for how long?

And what does the Oath mean to me. He said my answer was the best he had heard..ha ha

Went through (fast) line by line my application and stamped my file 'Approved' in a big red stamp.

Said I should get a letter in approx; 2 weeks and Oath 2 weeks later (but we will see).

He didn't get me to sign my photos, so did he forget and should I check, and if so how?

I have his name (on the N-652) but no phone number etc.

  2. FInally some action...my status changed late yesterday.

Your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION is now scheduled for interview. You will receive a written notice with a time and place for your interview. You should receive this notice within 14 days. If you do not receive this notice within 14 days from June 7, 2011

Don;t know what day of course, but now I hope it's after July 4th...I was thinking of going to viist my parents on the long weekend. Beggars can't be choosers though, I'll take whatever they give me.

    Yeah!

  3. OKC is slow. That is, if my case has even made it to OKC yet. I'm not so sure anymore :( Last I heard from them was from Lee Summit 2 months ago.

Probably will start calling them, I don't know.

That's weird because my YL was 4/22 close to yours. I really hope you hear soon. You and I are the only OKC filers I think.

  4. hello people

Today was my interview and was very fast!

I took an oath and he ask me:

    What is your name?

    want to change it?

    you married?

give me the marriage certificates and divorce.

    taxes

    letter from Selective Service

made the 6 questions and answers well, but I do not remember who asked me and I was super nervous! LOL

and it did not read or write! it took 34 years to be resident permanante (all my life since I was a baby)

I said sign here and here and there I said

Congratulations you are a new citizen of the united states america

in a few days will be mailed the letter of the ceremony date and time.

from there I took a paper that I have to present the day of the ceremony.

I left there wanting to scream !!!!!!! I did it !!!!!!

but there were many people! hahahahahaha

is amazing how long I wait!

wow now to prepare the I-130 for my wife and daughter.

thanks to all see you later, bye

    Congratulations!!

  5. So still no IL or anything. My case has not been touched since 02/24, which is odd, since I did receive a YL in April. I know I'm still inside the official time frame, but watching folks that applied at the same time or later than I getting their ILs or even taking the Oath makes me wonder. I should not have any background check issues, since I never changed my name, never had any trouble with the law (not even a traffic ticket), only left the country for 3 weeks back in 2008, have been living in the same state for over 5 years and married to the same person for almost 7 years. And anyway I suppose they'd mail me an RFE or something, right?

That's getting really frustrating... I've been dealing with immigration for 6 years now and would very much like to be done.

It is wierd, as I was after you, all I can say is there is no rhyme or reason....

  6. I had my interview this morning. We got to the USCIS office bright and early. Checked in around 8:15am and got called around 8:35, so not a very long wait. The IO wasn't overly personable but polite enough. lol She started me off with the civics questions and then did the written/oral testing. After that she quickly went over my application and then told me to sign a form which had all the information that would be on my naturalization certificate. It was over and done with in less than 10 minutes. . After the interview was done, I was told to have a seat in the waiting room and wait til they gave me my oath letter. However, after a 15-minute wait or so, my IO called my name again and told me they'd actually mail me a letter since my ceremony will be held in my hometown, not Chicago. Yay! Saves me a trip. lol Chicago is a VERY busy office, there were a ton of people in the waiting area. So glad this step is over with and I'm looking forward to my oath ceremony when I will finally become a USC.

    :star:

Yea! Congrats glad it's over and you passed!

  7. I just got this email message today from USCIS:

    Oath Ceremony

On May 23, 2011, we placed your application in the oath scheduling que. We will send a notice when the ceremony is scheduled. If you move prior to the scheduled ceremony, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Still anxious on how long am I going to wait.

  8. Just want to share my interview experience in case other people go throught the San Antonio, TX office and are curious.

Appointment was 05/20/2011 at 1.15 pm but we were 30 minutes early. Only waited about 10 minutes until I was called in. The officer went through the N-400 application and only asked if we were renting or owning the house we're living in. Never asked for any documentation, no passport (was requested to bring in the yellow letter I received), no IRS tax returns, nothing. It only took 15 minutes total. I can't remember all the questions I had but for the writing test I had to write: "California has the most people", and a few of the civic's test questions were: "which ocean is on the west coast", "what is one of the states bordering Canada", "how many senators are there". All very easy and quick. Hopefully I receive my oath letter soon and good luck to others still waiting for their interview letter!

    Congrats!

    3. Who is the President?

    4. Who is the Vice President?

    5. What is one reason colonist came to America?

    6. What is one thing Benjamin Franklin was famous for?

    Good luck to everyone elase!!

    Congrats!

  10. The date thing happened to me too. We filed for our kids' AOS on 06/28, had FP on 07/28 and the interview on 09/28 of last year.

I looked at the March thread also. Made me sad... People who filed later than I got their IL's. Even at the same field office. :crying:

I know it's wierd, I think I am the only other person going through OKC.
