  1. This is for everyone but mainly for OKflyboy and any other OKC filers.

It was good, long day but good. I was told they don't always have it at the Federal Courthouse. Apparently they have about 20 people taking the oath at the USCIS office. We had 97 taking the oath. I parked on 4th st. right on the corner of 4th & Harvey for $5.00 for the day. Had to be there at 9:30, they had us sit in the courtroom on the 3rd floor (your family can be there), they tell you to fill in the letter and sign it if you haven't already, but it's ok to fill it in and sign it before, then they call your name, you go and talk to an Immigration officer, hand in your GC, sign your certificate, hand in your filled in letter and they give you a number. Then you can leave (the room) and come back at 11:30. They then sit you in a numbered seat for the ceremony which starts at 12:00. That lasts for about 30 minutes. You then pick up your certificate and leave!

  4. Just got back from a big day. Spent the night in OKC. Had to check-in at 9:30am. The actual ceremony was at 12:00pm. It lasted about 30 minutes and was great. Finally a US citizen, 11 years in the making.

Also, the local public access tv station was there filming and asked me if I was would mind being wired and interviewed later. So it will appear next Friday on oeta at 7:00pm.

There were 97 new citizens from 38 countries, I was the only Aussie :-)

Adjusted my SS while I was there as well.

Good luck to all who are still waiting, it is well worth the wait.

  5. Yeah, you're almost done

Well, I hope the insurance companies settle that. The other driver turned out to be pretty mean. I hope she won't (and can't) bring the law in post factum.

Nah...that would be hear say on there part so they would not be interested in that. But it's an accident and not speeding or dui etc.

  6. Thanks. I know they would not deny me the citizenship based on this, but I'm really stressed over the whole thing.

I know how you feel...but this really is no different than claiming on a house insurance policy. If you were ticketed then it would be different you would have to show it was paid etc.

One week today to go for me :)

  7. hey guys, a question.

this has been a crappy day for me. got into an accident in a parking lot while backing out of a parking space. the other person behind me decided to back out too and as a result their and mine right taillights are busted. anyway, I believe it's a no-fault, there was no cops involved, no tickets since it's a private parking lot, her and me exchanged the insurance info.

What I'm wondering is do I have to report that before or at the oath?

I would say no, it didn't involve the law and there is no fine. That is all they are concerned about.

  8. OMG! They're trying to get rid of a whining kid like me, LOL.

    Great news! :)

  10. That's a good way to do it. My husband threw in questions every now and then when I was prepping for, until the very day of the interview. It helped.

I played my CD in the car every morning/evening to/from work, till I was sick of it  and I had it in 3 voice types (accents), American female & male and hispanic male, I found that it helped hearing in these various ways (I wasn't sure who I would get at the interview!). Probably overkill but hey, it worked.

  11. Thanks! Report will be as detailed as I can remember...if I can remember anything after! :bonk:

I know, I had a hard time remembering what was said, but looking back it was a breeze, I know human nature is to worry and it (the interview) becomes all consuming but truly it is very easy and everything (answers etc) just comes out of your mouth without giving it too much thought. And the feeling afterwards is worth it...a great relief :)

  12. Congrats! Knew you would be fine :-)

    Well, I passed

Messed up on the question about the number of senators - I was thinking "two for every state" and said "Fifty". The IO looked at me funny, so I quickly corrected myself. She said I was the first person to have ever answered this question wrong

I got there at about 11:30, went through security at 11:40, was called in the interview room about 11:50 and was out of there ten minutesbefore the actual appointment time, which was 12:15.

Anyway, she (her name's Brenda, I didn't catch the last name) was very nice, chatted about weather and her two sons. Saw my husband and three kids in the waiting room and said, "I see you have a good marriage". Asked for my DL, GC and passports. Went over the application questions and Oath lines. Had me read "What state has the most people" and write "California has the most people". I signed two forms, and she told me they will put me on the list for the next available Oath, which happens to be September 14.

    That's pretty much it.

I hardly slept last night, got up at 5 am, so I couldn't think very straight. I guess I did well after all, considering
