When I went there was only one other person it was like a morgue, it was way more relaxed than I had imagined and NO paperwork was required, he only looked at my GC and nothing else.

I filed the 5 year route, so not sure if that helped.

If you want to point out how poorly the instructions are written, you could sign the letter the moment you receive it. But since your signature is an oath that everything you filled in is the truth and nothing but the truth, you can't really fill it out before getting into the building because things can happen on the way to the Oath Ceremony that could change your answers. For example, you get pulled over by a cop and cited while driving to the Oath Ceremony. There's no way of knowing whether or not that happened before the time has passed when that would have happened. Since it takes about 2 to 3 seconds to sign the form, it makes sense to fill it out and sign it before handing it over. I filled out mine and signed it in the building, right before going in line to surrender my Green Card.

I had my Oath Ceremony Yesterday and I checked the questions at home and signed when I was seated waiting to be called to give the IO the Resident Card . The officers asked us to signed everything before we reached them.

Yes, after reading the letter again:

'...After you have answered every question, sign your name and fill in the date and place of signing, and provide your

current address.

You must bring this completed questionnaire with you to the oath ceremony, as well as the documents indicated on the

front, and give them to the employee of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services at the oath ceremony. You may

be questioned further on your answers at that time...."

It never states to sign it in front of an IO.

i filled it out and signed it when i got there. right before i handed over my greencard. you dont know what happens on your way to the oath ceremony.

I was not going to fill it out till I got there, but wasn't sure if I could sign it while waiting.

I've read conflicting posts as to when you sign the N-445 letter.

Some say on the day before arriving is fine, others say it has to be in front of an immigration officer when you hand in your letter.

The letter doesn't say one way or the other.

Can someone who has RECENTLY gone through their oath ceremony put me straight.

Thanks guys. I got my letter yesterday (7/28/11). My oath will be on august 12th at a park on the shores of lake superior in michigan's upper peninsula. I hope the weather is nice! I will post my ceremony experiance when I have done it.

I got my oath letter in the mail today :thumbs:

Oath ceremony will be 9:30am, August 26th at the Federal Courthouse in OKC.

Leaving and entering the US you use your US passport. Entering and leaving Australia your Australian passport.

To put it another way ,you are a US citizen when dealing with the US and an Australian citizen when dealing with Australia.

Oath Ceremony

On July 27, 2011, we scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice providing the date, time, and location.

I missed the July 29th ceremony, so I am guessing it is August 26th....if only I could find out the date... :devil:

Well,last night I got an email to say that they have mailed me the oath letter....I should know in a couple of days when and where it will be, I cant wait to get done with it all....i will post as soon as I know
