Very scary, I live in tornado alley as well (Oklahoma), so far this year we have been lucky.

Amen to that about being quick. Yesterday was a horrible day for us. We had 3 tornado warnings during the day. 3 times we rushed to the community storm shelter across the road. The third time was when it hit. We stood outside the shelter and watched a tornado bounce over our house. It had been on the ground about 2 miles south west of house. After it came off the hill, it bounced over the Tombigbee waterway and over our street. We watched it coming and we rushed into the shelter. Hachemi could barely get the door closed. It was over in a few seconds. People in the shelter with us started getting phone calls and we learned it had touched down 2 more miles up the highway and totally wiped the town of Smithville, MS off the map. So many are dead, injured. and missing. Our house was saved but our neighbor's large oak tree split his house in two. We were so lucky. I turned my ankle over running to the shelter. It sore and swollen today. We were without electricity until early this morning. I was glad it came back on before we had to leave for Memphis.

Hachemi's appointment was at 9:50am. They were pretty busy, and we waited about 30 or 40 minutes. They finally called him and he was gone for about 5 minutes tops. Did not have to show any of the documents we brought. He did the swearing to tell the truth. The CO asked the yes/ no questions and Hachemi signed the paper. He was asked the Civics questions and he got the 6 right. The man was very nice and friendly. Gave him the white document that said "Congratulations, your application has been recommended for approval" and told him that he would get a letter about the oath in a few weeks. He walked out smiling, but it is hard for us to celebrate amongst so much death and destruction in our community.

No, website still says 'Intial Review' and the date is still the same March 8th (FP notice).

Well finally some movement today. I received a YL in the mail (dated 4/22) to bring state issued photo ID.

Any ideas if this means I am closer to an IL or not?

Hachemi's interview is tomorrow in Memphis. I am so ready to get this over with. Will update everyone on how it went when we get home tomorrow afternoon.

Just recieved an email to say that my case has been transfered to the local office(detroit).....at least I know things are moving....I hope everyone had a good easter!

I think you're asking a bit much - I mean, c'mon - they've only done about 3 backgrounds checks on you since you started with immigration - how dare you expect prompt service?

Hi everyone. Had my interview and oath today at the Baltimore office. I guess I am done! For those interested, Baltimore office seems to be really efficient! They have oath ceremony every day at 3 pm so if you have your interview in the morning you will most likely be sworn in the same day in the afternoon. I will post the overall experience later.

Saterday I received a yellow colored letter from the USCIS. It states:

USCIS recommends you bring the following documents to your interview:

"Bring all passports and travel documents (including expired and current) issued to you by any government".

I'm not worried because I haven't been out of the country anything close to the 180 days, but I was wondering if there are more February filers who received a yellow letter.

Yellow letters are normal, if that's what you are asking. Just lets you know what to bring with you.

They made you spell the sentence??? That's wierd because getting the spelling wrong doesn't go against you (as long as it resembles the words).

I also included my step-daughter (only the one who was younger than 18 when I married, not the adult ones) on my N400.
