Hi everyone, I m tracking my K-1 case out of Bogot and would love to hear about your real-world timing for the remaining steps. Here s my timeline so far: -
I-129F Sent: 09-26-2024 -
USCIS Receipt (NOA1): 10-04-2024 -
I-129F Approved (NOA2): 03-12-2025 -
NVC Case # Assigned: 05-20-2025 -
Case in Transit to Consular Section (CEAC): 05-20-2025 I'm now waiting on next steps which should be as followed: - Packet 3 received
- Interview Date Scheduled at Bogot Embassy
- Visa Issued
- Visa Received
- Date of Entry
My question: For those of you who went through the Bogot K-1 process, what was your timeline for each of these stages? In particular: -
How long from In Transit to At the Consular Section and then to Documentarily Qualified/Packet 3 Received ? -
After submissions were complete, how long until your Interview Date was scheduled? -
From interview to Visa Issued and back to you? -
And finally, how long until you were able to enter the U.S.? Any insights or specific date ranges you experienced would be incredibly helpful as we decide whether my fianc e should remain in Argentina or return to Venezuela while we wait. Thanks in advance!

Hi! I am looking to bring my 2 sisters to the US. The process takes many years. I would like them to visit me with a tourist visa. In order for them to apply for a tourist visa, they need to show the immigration officer the last 6 bank statements and available balance. Does anybody know how much money they should have in their bank account for the tourist visa to be approved? Has anybody done this process recently? if you did this process recently and got approved. Which US embassy did you go to? What was your available balance in your bank account?

Has anybody had this problem filling up the I134A form on the following sentence below? We are unable to verify your address with the U.S. Postal Service. You must provide a valid address to submit this form. I went to the US postal office multiple times and I was told that my address is fine. I called the USCIS and I couldn't get in touch with anybody. Can someone who had the same issue help me with this, please?

I submitted my I-129F a couple weeks ago. I received the NOA1 text on 11/21, still waiting on the mailed I-797C receipt. On Friday, I realized I needed to make a correction to my application. I misunderstood/misread the question about past citations; I should have answered yes instead of no (I had a non-criminal disorderly when I was a kid). I called USCIS and talked to an agent. She said to submit the following: - a copy of my I-797C receipt - a letter detailing what exactly I want changed (including question no./page no./etc.) - the court documents/etc. that I should have submitted with my original application She said I shouldn't submit any revised versions of the I-129F, only the letter detailing the changes needed. Does anyone else have any experience with this? I've heard of the USCIS call center giving incorrect advice in the past. Since I'm waiting on my I-797C anyway, I wanted to see if anyone has any thoughts.

Hello, I apologize if this is the wrong forum area. What we would like advise on: Wife's removal proceeding case (from asylum application not granted - never in the US illegally) was dismissed last year (December 2023). We have not heard anything from USCIS. We have submitted multiple inquiries. Asked our congressman for help. It's been 11 months and nothing at all from USCIS. I understand that with USCIS waiting is the name of the game, but it doesn't hurt to ask: Is there anything we could do to get our case get out of limbo in our situation? Timeline since removal proceedings dismissal: - The case was dismissed in December 2023.
- We waited 2 months to see if we would hear anything from USCIS. We did not.
- March 2023 - Submitted an out of processing timeframe inquiry via online tool - informing them of the decision. Received generic response.
- Beginning of April 2024 - Ask congress man for help.
- At the end of April 2024 - USCIS tells congressman to tell us to call and request an appointment and bring dismissal.
- End of April 2024 - Call and request an appointment. Told we had to wait for a call back.
- End of May 2024 - Receive call from agent. Agent says that we do not need an appointment. That she sees that the case was dismissed, and we should receive an official letter within a month with next steps.
- Mid-June 2024 (waited 45 days) submit another out of processing time inquiry. Informing them that case was dismissed and tier-2 agent said we should have received something by now. Response given said we would hear something within 90 days.
- September 2024 (waited more than 90 days) - submit another inquiry. Keep referencing previous inquiries and asked what else we had to do for next steps. Finally, a response that made some sense to our situation. Response says that they see that the immigration judge dismissed the case and that they will take jurisdiction over the case and that they requested our file from the Texas service Center. That we would hear something within 60 days. The 60 days have passed, and we have not received anything.
- November 2024 - Ask senator for help 2 days ago. Waiting to hear back before submitting another inquiry. Asking VisaJourney for help
More background just in case (Timeline is a few years): - Wife entered US legally
- Applied for asylum
- was not granted asylum and was referred to immigration court
- We married
- I-130 got approved
- At the advice of our lawyer, submitted I-485 form to the court and USCIS (Texas service center)
- Moved to New York
- Finally on December 2023 case was dismissed.
