We just had our interview today and we were curious on some of your timelines out there for how long it took for you to get your passport back in hand. We chose the option to have our passport delivered to the Lak Si post office because it was the closest to the embassy, but curious what experiences you all had so that we can try to plan accordingly thank you.

Hello,

My fianc e just had her K1 interview with the US Embassy in Thailand. They told her she was approved and took copies of all of her paperwork except the Declaration of Financial Support (I-134). Should they have taken this form as well? She said they looked at it but didn t take it. I m worried that they forgot to take it and it will cause an issue when they try to process the visa. I was under the impression that they would need to submit this document to the US Government. I ve tried calling the embassy but cannot reach a live person.

I-290B for denied I-485

We did get notice of intent to deny due to no year on our Marriage license.

I resubmitted the same license and we were denied July 20th.

There is a year for the the purchase of the license and I thought that and the date on the official seal of the marriage license that shows were married within the first 30 days was adequate. Not so. the fact that there is no date where it says "in the year of our Lord two thousand and__________________ " did us in.

The county clerk was happy to send a new updated license and she said she had the evidence and ability to put in the year and send a new official seal one. We also have a letter from the minister as he kept records.

My questions are

1 Is this mistake really going to set us back 800$? any chance to get a refund when they see how it was a government mistake? I read where there are no refunds but??

2 I am thinking we should check the box for motion to reopen and reconsider? as I've read the motion to reconsider wont use new submitted evidence.

3 In part 1 and again in Part 4.4 do I use the immigrant wife's (applicant) name or mine as the petitioner and signature? I used her name and signature so far.

4 Is the only submission method to mail this in or can we file online?

by the way this is the SLC office and its been 38 months

Thanks for any help.

Hello

Well here we are almost 3 years after we mailed in our I129F.. Man what an adventure its been.. My fiance and her K2 daughter finally got here in Jan and we got married in Feb filled AOS (I485, I765, an I131 in Mar and in May had the biometrics done here in NC.. Were now getting ready for 2 things.

1- the marriage green card interview

2- in Oct our other 2 K2 kids will be interviewing atbyhe BKK US Consulate in Thailand for their k2 visas

While i thought things would get easier they are just as complacated as the I129F was when I really didnt know what I was doing.. Iv learned a few things since..

So my questions are:

1 - what documents do i need to send to Thailand for my 2 follow on K2 kids interview...? and is it an interview since they were listed on the original I129F that got approved in Oct of last year?

2- for our ( myself and the wife) K1 green card interview what docs should i be getting together for that interview? and is their any other forms like the DA260 or I130 or I864 that i have to fill out an resubmit new or just bring copies of the originals to the interview.. iv been reading alot of conflicting stuff Theirs pretty good stuff on the USCIS site that iv seen then i read some legal immigration sites who say different.

3- also has any body who's been thru the interview have any advise on the interview process they could share

Hello

My wife got her K1 visa in Jan 5th of 2024 and 1 of the 3 kids traveled with us to the US. we have 2 K2 kids that will be traveling soon their schedualed interview is Oct 10.

Im wondering how long after their interview do my K2 kids have before they have to travel to the US? My oldest has her finals in Dec.

Also since our I129F has already been approved by the US consulate BKK and the 2 follow up K2 kids are named on the original petition what documents do i need to get to them for the BKK consulate interview as the petitioner?

Also does their interview date in Oct effect the 1 year time line to travel for their departure form BKK since we filed their DS160 back in Mar and just last week got the Oct date..?
