Hello, My wife came to US on K-1 in February 2019. She got her 2 year GC in September 2019. This year her GC expired, but about 4 weeks before we've got extension letter for 24 months. Originally we were thinking that she will file for her citizenship after 5 years of having GC. Now I did some reading and she's eligible to file N400 under 3 year rule of being married to citizen. Can we actually do the N400 application if she still doesn't have her 10 year GC? Are there any side effects? Can we do it now? Thanks

All, I am looking for help from the collective wisdom of the group. My wife filed her N 400 over a year ago online and has been radio silent since. My biggest concern is that we have heard nothing on either reuse or a new appointment on biometric. From other cases, this seems the be abnormal. We have sent an email, but the response was generic the case is still within normal processing time. Any ideas on how to figure out why the delay in biometrics? What would happen if we filed a new application? Thanks in advance

Filed for my wifes I751 back in November of 2021, Just filed for her citizenship (N400) on the 19th of November this year, only 20 so days ago. All of a sudden.... Bam! I-751 approval, and card in the mail all in the same day! Probably get the interview notice for the N400 next week. Don't know how USCIS is all of a sudden fast tracking my cases, but I'll take it!!!

Had our interview in June cancelled because of an interpreter no-show (we had contracted someone from a local agency to be available by phone). Showed up at rescheduled 11/29 interview and a second interpreter we hired was standing by waiting for our call. Instead, USCIS interviewer called another number somewhere within the organization and was connected to an interpreter almost immediately. Wish we had been this lucky 5 months ago but we were approved and I guess all's well that ends well.

my wife just got employment authorization, hopefully green card soon. she'd like to get citizenship ASAP. is it usually necessary to have a work/tax/SS history in the US to get citizenship? i ask because we're retired and not working, but maybe she should do some work if it helps the citizenship process. thanks
