After reading @Ryan & Rachaya's story about potentially having to start over, I figured I should check our I-130 to see if anything stood out that I may need to potentially fix now since we are so early in the process. I went over the form so many times that I was confident everything was kosher, but figured I would check for the 100th time to be sure.

1. On my current address, I know that I entered a start date of 01/01/2023 and for the end date I used the date I submitted the form, but the date fields are showing blank on the submitted form. Is this OK since it is my current address and I provided the remaining addresses for the past 5 years of required address history?

2. question 46 "Was the beneficiary EVER in the United States?" I clearly checked "NO" because the form shows a check box on "No"; however, on question 46a "He or She arrived as a" : there a value of UN. Again, is this normal?

Good morning, I have a question for the group. I am planning a wedding in Thailand in October. I was wondering what happens if the CR1 Visa gets rejected for some unknown reason? Has this happened to anyone on this site? Thank you

Good morning, something has been in the back of my mind so I thought I would ask here. My fianc and I are planning a wedding in October in Thailand. We have been together for over 2 years and I have traveled to Thailand last year to meet her. We decided on the CR1 path for us. My question is she has 3 boys, 2 are over 18 and have their own lives, but the youngest is 14 and he lives with his father. Also none of them have any desire to move to the USA. Will that be an issue when we apply for the visa to bring her here? Thank you.

Should we wait to apply (K1) until after baby is born?

Currently in Thailand scheduled to return to states in mid-September.
Baby is due in Jan 2024.

My work rotation won t allow me back in Thailand until March or April 2024.
Already planning the consular birth report to get everything setup for citizenship/passport. Putting as much together that I m aware of for impending applications.

So should we wait until after the birth to apply for the K1?

I think we even still have time to get married here (Thailand) if that helps. Looked at the Zoom Utah wedding too to try and understand if that s an option. One concern with leaving unmarried is getting the birth legitimized in Thailand if we do wait and get married in the states. Birth certificates here mean very little in terms of if anything were to happen to the mother. And the visa situation is getting worse by the day as immigration is seriously cracking down on nearly every visa scheme which is why I m worried to come back in as a tourist instead of applying for a marriage visa or at least showing immigration upon return that I plan on changing to a non-o visa based on marriage or Thai child.

if we wait until after I will probably have to hire an attorney in Thailand to help facilitate as much as possible because of my work situation and other personal issues.

is there a prep thread here for getting everything together for the application and subsequent requests for other docs?

Thanks! And I ll prob be floating in many threads from here out so if I post in the wrong category my bad !!

Time for NVC processing after I-129F approval

Hi all, our I-129F was approved on 6/19/23 and we have still not received anything from the NVC. The letter said it should be processed within 4 weeks - are they just delayed right now? I submitted an inquiry through the NVC's system on 8/1 and received an automatic reply that it had been received but nothing sincer.

Also, was there some step we missed in terms of sending forms? The letter says we just wait until processing, then are assigned an interview time, and while waiting for that time to come it was my impression we'd complete any required forms as well as medical exams, etc. Is that how it works?

Thanks,
