NVC required documents for joint sponsor

We are currently at the NVC stage after having filed an I-130 petition for my husband (Spanish citizen) and I wanted to make sure I have all the documents required for NVC.

We are using a joint sponsor (my dad) who filed 2021 taxes as married, filing jointly. Does this mean my mom needs to fill out an i864A? Even though she does not work nor have any sort of income? My dad s income easily covers the 125% poverty line requirement.

I ve uploaded my W2, federal tax 1040 document from most recent year and i864,

I ve uploaded my dad s i864, proof of citizenship (passport), proof of us domicile, W2, federal tax income return 1040 from most recent year,

My husband s passport, passport photos, birth certificate, our marriage certificate, and police certificate.

Does it sound like we are missing anything else?

Filing for CR1 visa within the US and moving abroad(spain)?

My wife is from Poland and I am from Texas and we got legally married while living in Canada. Due to visa reasons we had to leave Canada. My wife has moved to Seville, Spain and I have returned to Texas. My wife is currently searching for a permanent residence (apartment) in Spain and I have plans to go live and work with her in Spain in 1-2 months to be able to be together while the CR1 visa processes. I want to submit the I-130 soon but am wondering whether I can submit it from Texas and leave and continue the rest of the visa process from Spain, or if submitting from Spain via the Direct Consular Filing would be the option for us. I am currently staying with family during the month or 2 of me being in Texas between Canada and Spain and if needed would be able to have documents forwarded to me in Spain if needed. I also am wondering whether we should make sure and have a permanent long term residence in Spain for my wife/beneficiary rather than a temporary monthly stay until an apartment is found, although I'm sure that will be very soon. Thank you very much, all advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

We sent all the documentation for the CR-1 and sent a request for expedite the process and send it to the Embassy since my spouse is in the military and we are PCSing this year. The Embassy denied the request and on this same email, the NVC said: 'This case is now documentarily qualified. This means that the NVC has all of the documents we requested. Your application is now waiting for an interview appointment, where a consular officer will adjudicate it.'

Does it mean we are DQ? How long does it take to get an interview for CR-1 in Spain???

I really need some help with this since we are not sure we are going to make it in time for us to leave together!!!

Greencard Interview experience with a BUT

Hello everyone,

We just made it back from our interview at Boston USCIS office.

All went good. We waited for 25 minutes before being called in. My wife, the USC was called in first, then I went in after 20 minutes. We both interviewed alone. Apparently that was the rule at the office today.

We were asked the dame question, pretty standard ones. Easy, all good.

Here comes the BUT:

The officer told me my medical file was not with my file, it was supposed to be sent to the local office bwitybthe rest of my documents, but it was not there. I never received an RFE requesting a new one. I show her my DS 3025 and said that she needed the whole thing. I explained it was on the sealed envelope you hand at the port of entry and you never see it. She said it has to be on another USCIS office where my case was first reviewed and she said she just placed a request for it to be sent to her. She also said we were a strong case but she cannot approve it until she gets the full medical, said two days to get there (maybe).

That probably means I won't make it to my trip back to Spain on the 18th since either I won't have my greencard on hand and I guess I can't risk leaving the country with my EAD/AP with a decision pending on my greencard.

Anyway, another experience for the VJ forum!

Hello everyone,

I would like to know some insights about this.

I doubt it's possible but, can anyone travel out of the US and come back right after having a greencard interview, but before actually receiving the card in the mail.

Basically I'd like to know if the validity of the AP (from the combo card) is still good before receiving the GC. Assuming no, bit wanted to double check with you guys.

I have our interview the 8th in Boston, hoping to get the card before the 18th!

Thanks in advance!
