My husband's sister wants to come visit us and she's adamant that she was told there are currently no tourist visas from Peru being approved. I haven't been able to find anything on Google. I was thinking maybe they've maxed out the number for the year, but she told us this in February. Does anyone know? We've lived here for 9 years and none of his family has ever come to visit. Haven't even tried but now we have a 2 year old and they would really like to visit and have the means to do so. Thank you for any and all advice you may have! Also - if you happen to look up on my profile, his other sister is hoping to study in the US so I did recently ask about that. These are two different sisters. Thanks

My husband's younger sister is wanting to study in the US. It makes the most sense for her to study somewhere local to us to have family support (all other family is in Peru). Financially, she is unable to pay, but we would help her out. I'm just getting started in the process and am wonder if we can sign some sort of affidavit of support saying we will be responsible for her financially? What is the best way to handle this? Also, would her wanting to study in the same city as we live be seen negatively by immigration at all? As for english language proficiency - is there a specific test she needs to take? She is also hoping to find a job here and be able to stay, but that isn't 100% of her decision. Regardless of where she ends up working, a US degree would give her more opportunities. She's most likely going to continue studying computation. Thank you!

MIL had her interview today in Lima, Peru. They kept her passport but gave her a list of documents that she needed to upload: 1. The one in the Subject Line. 2. Original W-2's for petitioner and household member. 3. An IRS Transcript We provided Taxes for this 2022 year. Does anyone know what this Migratory Movement thing is all about. Thanks guys

After 14 months of waiting, my wife s i130 petition was finally approved and sent to the nvc last week! I have 2 questions I need help with: 1) I just submitted the i864 and the DS260. Now what comes next? And how long until she gets an interview date? She is in Peru? 2) big question. I was able to submit my most recent tax return and it shows I make double the amount required for the 2 of us. I started a new job as of February of 2023 though and I submitted scanned copies of the last 5 months of paychecks as well as a written letter from my new boss at the new barbershop that I will be expected to make at least double the required income. My question is that I hear they also want W2s and 1099s and I don t have copies of that for last year. Does that really matter or will I be okay with what I submitted? This is taking place in Peru. Please help me understand this, thank you.
