Does anybody knows when it is wise to file for divorce after receiving the ROC on my greencard? my U.S. husband broke up with me a couple of months ago (we have been struggling for a while before that) and now I am torn between file for divorce, considering that he is someone very irresponsible and I am afraid I will be affected by his bad financial decisions and not messing my citizen application up. I am already elegible to apply but I haven't had the money to talk to an immigration lawyer yet. Your help will be much appreciate it.

I just received my visa stamp, but still have not entered the US (will do this in the next 30 days). Is there a time on when I could petition for my child, start the filing of the i-130? Meaning do I need to wait to enter US first then apply for the F2a, specifically starting the i-130 or can I do that before entering the US?

As a permanent resident, you can file for you spouse. Then you can add derivatives (children) to the F2. Has anyone been in the case where the spouse decided not come to US, but derivatives (children) still wanted to (and could they)? Assuming the spouse (and derivatives) went through the process and received the visa but only spouse decided not to use it.

Hello, it's been a while since I posted here but I am back looking for some guidance, I am applying to remove the conditions on my green card and I am in the final stages of putting my application packet together, I was readin through the official instructions for the I-751 application form and they include sworn affidavits as evidence of marriage, so I am wondering if this is more of a recommendation or if it is a requirement, so far I have included the following for evidence of marriage:

Photos in the United States

Photos of trip to native country.

Photos of American spouse with applicant s family.

3 months of phone bill statements.

Applicant's work benefits with coverage for both american spouse and self.

3 months of Joint Bank Account Statements for Checking Account.

3 months of Joint Bank Account Statements for Savings Account.

Joint tax returns of the past 2 years that we have been married.

Applicant's 401K statements that include american spouse as beneficiary.

Joint Car insurance policy.

How do you guys feel about this evidence packet, should I include more? Are affidavits a must? I just feel funny about asking our family to get involved in this process.

Thank you for all of your help throughout this.
