US Immigration from Pakistan

Hello everyone,

question one of my friend is looking to adopt her 16 years old nephew from Pakistan. How can she bring him to US. She s a US citizen it s her biological nephew he lost his mother at very young age and she wants to adopt him and bring him here. Anyone with experience or idea please advise about the process and if it s possible. Thank you!

my mom s case (IR5) is DQ but I got this msg from NVC

"The income reported as stated on form I-864 is insufficient to overcome the public charge grounds of inadmissibility for visa issuance. To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 from a joint sponsor may be submitted. For more information visit https://nvc.state.gov/aos and https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p. A consular officer will decide if you meet these requirements at the time of the interview. Note: You, as the sponsor, and any other sponsors household members and joint sponsors, must provide updated or additional evidence for the applicant to present at the time of their interview such as: * Other income * Assets * Proof of current employment Note: You submitted documentation to the National Visa Center through the Consular Electronic Application Center CEAC. You can continue to upload documents to CEAC up until the date of your visa interview."

my husband was a joint sponsor with me and he has a good income and we are sure that our income is way above the poverty line

maybe I haven t submitted my 2023 taxes yet I have only gave them the IRS extension letter??!

Is anyone here current on timeline of case transfer from NVC to Islamabad Embassy. We received our NOA 2 in April and have inquired and received our Case Number from NVC. However, the Case status on CAEC is still at NVC. Any idea how much time will NVC take to send it to the Consulate and then what is the current K1 Visa Interview timeline pls?

I recently moved to Riyadh for work from USA. I have filed a CR1 for my wife who is currently in Pakistan and waiting for her interview in Islamabad US embassy. Current wait time for interview there is 24 months after NVC DQ s your application. I wanted to see if I can move her case to Riyadh US embassy. I wanted to know if the wait time for interview is quicker here or it also takes years after DQ from NVC. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi there! My US citizen spouse and I got married in South Africa and registered while we were on a tourist visa, I am originally from Pakistan and will be filling from here, I need to ask will I have to register my marriage here in Pakistan as well?
