Parents SSN required?

I am applying to replace my Social Security Card as well as change my citizenship status to U.S. Citizen from Permanent Resident. Currently, it has the VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION writing on it. When I got the replacement card back in 2018 it had my parents name on it on the form they provided but no SSN info. I am now a USC.

What is the purpose of SSA asking for parents SSN? I do have them. Should I write those down on the application? Father is deceased (he was given a SSC and number when he was on tourist visa in 1987). Mother is a USC.

Also, I would put my mother s born last name and not the married last name correct?

I would now check the U.S. Citizen box and not Legal Alien Allowed To Work box right on the social security application?

Has anyone able to setup an appointment at your nearest SSA office or is it a walk in?

I need to provide original Certificate of Naturalization form and an unexpired state Driver License correct? Do I have to bring my Social Security Card in as well to turn in?

Transfer a case to an embassy in another country

My understanding is that to transfer an IR\CR case to an embassy in another country other than the beneficiary's home country they need to be a resident in this other country. Meaning you need to reside in this other country and not just be a tourist visiting.

Someone I chatted with is insisting that you can ask your IR\CR interview\case be transferred to any country as long as you are able to visit the other country and you can do this if the beneficiary's home country has a backlog of cases.

For example if the beneficiary is an Indian citizen and the US embassy in India has a huge backlog for IR\CR interviews you can get your case transferred to Kuwait which has a shorter wait time for an interview. I am quite certain that is not the case, you in fact have to be a resident of Kuwait and not a tourist to get the case transferred to Kuwait from India.

Can someone confirm if I am correct or if this other person is correct?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I will try to make this as brief and easy to understand as possible.

I married my husband in Pakistan (his home country) in October 2018.

He finally got approved for his visa and arrived here on June 19,2024.

His cousin, who is American handled all of our documents, applications and fees.

On Tuesday my husband took his things and left me. I do not know where he is exactly, he only says he is in Baltimore and will not be returning to me. I am devastated.

I have tried to call USCIS many times but I don't have our receipt number as his cousin refuses to give it to me and the call system will not connect me with anyone. I want to report that he has left me with no intention to return and I will be filing for a divorce.

Is anyone able to tell me how I can actually speak to someone? Please any help is appreciated.

I apologize if I put this message in the wrong category. Please go easy on me.

Thanks in advance,

Natalie

Hello everyone,

I am trying to assist my mother-in-law a LPR to file for her divorced daughter who is over 21. I have some questions that hopefully you can answer.

1. My mother-in-law's mother passed a long time ago and we does not know her date of birth. What do we put on 1-130?

2. What should we write on back of mother-in-law's passport photos? name and A#? on daughter's photos name and date of birth?

3. Should we submit the daughter's divorce certificate along with I-130?

Lastly this is not a question but I wanted to write to everyone who is waiting for their loved ones to have patient and hope that you and your family member will be united soon. I have been through this process and remember those agonized days which were difficult, my words may not mean much when may be feeling down or alone, but please have hope and know that there may be better days ahead.

Thanks for reading my post and answering my questions
