US Immigration from Pakistan

My husband recently traveled to Karachi, Pakistan on an expired 10 year green card without realizing it. When he tried returning after 3 week trip-he was denied boarding. We contacted US Consulate in Karachi. Were told to apply for "Transportation Boarding Foil" which we did through their website and paid the $575 Dollar fee to USCIS website After a lot of emails we were told to make an appointment online and someone will call us. We weren't able to make the appointment , No one picks up the phone at Consulate. Everthing is done via email. So were being told it could take up to a year for this process and were better off just applying for a visa instead. Once he's in US then he can apply for green card renewal. Does anyone know if this would be the correct way to go about this situation? Should we hire a immigration lawyer? Were getting conflicted information. I am a US citizen. He's in dire situation as he has his job to return to&support his family.

my sponsor had a very less difference in income to 125% poverty level like $2000 so she submitted her assets value (those assets which can easily converted to cash within one year) to fulfill the difference which is three times of the difference and becomes $6000 and her asset value was of $18000. my question is will the pakistani embassy consider it or i still have to arrange joint sponsor? any pakistani have faced this situation,kindly share his experience. thanks

Was under administration ir1 for 17month. Finally got 2nd interview after interview got approval letter but it s been more then 2weeks but did not get passport. Any one went through like this. Do any one know how long usually they take to issue the visa.

A month ago we went to get my spouse's state ID at the Texas DPS but were refused because

(1) she does not have an SSN and

(2) she can't get an SSN Waiver even with the NOA1 (coz she has apparently already applied for SSN via the filed immigration forms?)

I'm confused about point 2. When we check "yes" to the portion on the papers that ask if we would like to get the SS card, does that imply we have "already applied" for the SSN and hence makes her ineligible for the SSN Waiver?

Person at the DPS said she would be committing fraud if she used the waiver.

So, I did spent 20 days with my boyfriend just now in my city, from the beginning of October to the 20th, and while we wished we could have married, we weren't able to.

A friend of mine did a remote marriage with his fianc on Facebook just now. He is in Australia and she is in my city, she signed the wedding papers necessary and they couriered the documents to him and he signed them when he got them.

I want to know if a similar situation is possible for me and him to do the same? Where he can initiate the wedding from the USA with witnesses and then couriers me the document to sign with a witness and I courier it back to him to begin processing at his local court? I do have a couple of people who can happily sign for me as witnesses.

and yes, before I get the flood of questions. we both talked it through. we both shared the same room. same bed. etc for 20 days. we are completely and utterly happy with each other. I searched every possible loophole i could to try and get a marriage possible here but I couldn't. So before the barrage comes in, we are both comfortable and more than looking forward to marriage.
