US Immigration from Pakistan

Hey all,

Does anyone happen to know if spouse needs a passport (she doesn't have one at the time of writing, but is in the process of getting one), to begin the ir-1 visa process? I am using the online tool on the USCIS website and it allows me to skip the questions (47-50) and it doesn't fall under the documents we need to provide with the I-30(A) forms so was wondering if this would hinder the process later down the line.

I had interview n July 30th, 2020... after the interview, the interviewer told me that all documents from my side is ok and that there's a delay on paperwork from Embassy side.... additionally I had already uploaded all necessary documents on CEAC before the interview... I got 221g and they took my passport... does that mean they intend to issue me a passport or something else?
