Hi all, I received an email from the NVC last week confirming that my IR-1 interview has been scheduled at the Auckland, New Zealand Consulate (phew! ). I have a date and a time, and I've booked in for my medical exam a few weeks in advance. At the moment I'm trying to piece together exactly what I need for my interview based on the link that was included in my NVC email https://nvc.state.gov/prep (specifically https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/ACK-Auckland.html). Some of it isn't very clear and I'm a little confused as to what to do. - One page in the link above says "You do not need to bring your Affidavit of Support or financial evidence you submitted to NVC." whereas another page says "The appropriate Form I-846 Affidavit of Support for each financial sponsor along with a photocopy of the sponsor's IRS transcript or most recent U.S. federal income tax return, and any relevant W-2s.". If I've already submitted an I-846 and tax transcript to the NVC, do I need to also bring the original to the interview as well?
- The Auckland Consulate instructions page requests that I deliver a packet of documents to the Consulate by hand a week in advance of the interview, but there's no mention of being able to courier these documents. I presume that I'm able to courier them?
- I was reading interview reviews for the Auckland Consulate and I see a few mentions of bringing a 'self addressed courier bag' to the interview. This isn't mentioned anywhere in my NVC email or in the link above. Is this something I need?
Should I expect to receive an email directly from the Auckland Consulate which will clear a lot of this up? I'll email the Consulate directly if I need to in order to get some answers, but I figured I'd ask here first. Thanks very much for your help!

So I've finally gone through the chore of changing my name - I've done my ss card and license and just sent off my passport yesterday. As the Sponsor/Petitioner do I have any paperwork that needs to be done with USCIS for this??

Hi all, It's been a while. My husband FINALLY received his green card in the mail (he arrived in June!) and we are finally starting to feel a bit settled. We recently moved to a new City/State & wondering how we go about changing our address with USCIS/NVC ? 1) is it necessary to change it or can we wait until we apply to remove green card conditions - our previous address was at my parents so I'm not concerned about not getting mail more so just concerned about due diligence 2) if we do have to change it - where do we do this, my husband said he updated his USCIS account address but I was under the impression there was a form or something that we needed to complete. Cheers

I was working in the US on an H-1B, with a company who had filed an I-140 for me. The company was acquired in 2017 and my role was restructured out. My H-1B expiry date was in August 2017 so I elected to return to New Zealand with my NZ fianc (now wife). Fast-forward to now, we want to return to the US to be near family. I ve filed an I-130 and tracked down the immigration attorney that filed the I-140 to check the status in case it came up, assuming it was abandoned when the company was acquired/I was made redundant. Surprisingly, their reply was that the I-140 was filed by the acquiring company, and was approved in Feb 2018 (6 months after redundancy and leaving the US) but that I never filed the I-485 (makes sense). I didn t get any notification about the approval, I assume it was sent to my old work email (that s on me). I have two questions: 1. Is that I-140 approval likely to have any impact on my current I-130 application. 2. Is there any chance that I-140 approval might still be able to be used if I file the I-485 for it? I m guessing the answer is an obvious no after 5 years in New Zealand, but can t hurt to ask. I m not employed by that company any more, but saw various things about if the I-140 hadn t been withdrawn by the company after 180 days there were some special cases. Thanks for any help!
