Applying OCI for my USC wife who has never held an Indian passport: One of the item in the checklist for applying OCI For Spouse of Foreign Origin is to send "copies of documents upon which OCI card was issued to the spouse.". Do I need to send all the the documents that I sent them when I got my OCI or they are only looking for any specific document(s) like canceled passport and renunciation certificate?

I recently moved to US with an H1B visa. I had applied for a new SSN on July 22, 2022. I was given this letter: "This is to acknowledge that you applied for a social security number on July 22, 2022. Before we can issue you a social security number card, we must verify the documents you gave us to show your alien status with the federal, state or local office in the United States that issued the documents. This may take up to 4 weeks. If that office verifies the authenticity of your documents, we will mail you a social security number card. If that office does not verify your documents, you are not eligible for social security number card, and we will inform you of this in writing. If you are not a US citizen and you were applying for social security number card for employment purposes and your immigration status allows you to work, you may legally begin employment while you await issuance of a social security card. You cannot work if your immigration status does not authorize you to do so." It's now more than 4 weeks and I still have not got any updates. I also checked my case status in USCIS SAVE case status check the and it is showing as case under review. Is this expected? I dont know what to do now. Kindly suggest.

We completed I-130 for my husband in India in which that forms also indicates his children - now 17 and 22 (when we began the process they were 16 and 21). My questions: Because they were 21 or younger when we began the process, what forms would be needed? Basically, would they be included on my husband's I-130? Or is the I-130 required for each family member? Would I indicate all 3 (husband and the 2 children) on the I-864 under Part #3? Thank you in advance for any information or assistance you can provide.

Hi, I wanted guidance for my below situation. I am on L1 visa here in US and my wife is awaiting for L2 stamping appt in India. We also have a family based GC initiated last year and her I130 has been approved 4 weeks back and has been sent to NVC. My wife has a B1/B2 from her previous employer. Instead of waiting for her L2 stamping, can she travel on B2 visa and then can we apply for I1485 here in USA instead of NVC? Is this risky and any downside to this. We need her to travel here but also want to ensure her NVC/I485 is also not negatively impacted. Any advise will be helpful. -S

I got an RFE because I missed a question asking about if I had a criminal history, since I'm sending it in I wanted to use this opportunity to also send in a letter from shaadi.com (matrimony website) that explains that website is not a IMB because I noticed a thread where someone got an RFE due to them meeting on a matrimony/dating site. They had to get a letter from the site explaining they are not a IMB (International Marriage Broker). On our application we put "No" to did you meet on a IMB, because it is not, but in the letter explaining how we met I did say we met on shaadi.com and I had a premium membership. The RFE did not mention anything about it so I am wondering if I should address it as well. I ask this because I found out it is common for them to send out more RFE's after receiving the previous RFE, so I wanted to kill two birds with on stone.
