US Immigration from England

Hi all,

I'm moving to the US on the 20th July and am in the process of packing up my belongings.

I was under the impression that I could just send all my stuff to my Fiance's parents and then collect when I'm over there. Now i'm starting to see that the companies need my visa and also I need to be the one collecting the delivery?

Can anyone who has recently gone through this process please help out and point me in the direction for the best service?

First I would like to thank in advance all those who answer and put forward recommendations to my questions.

My Green Card will be running out in 5 months time (A little behind I know) and I am looking to renew it rather than become a resident for the time being. I am filling out form I90 and had a few questions regarding what I should enter in some of the boxes.

1. Box 6.a. In care of name

Would I put my name in this box, even though I am completing the paperwork myself with no help?

2. Box 6.g. Province & Box 6.h. Postal Code

Since I have a US address, am I right in saying that these boxes do not need to be filled out?

3. Part 3 Item 1.

Not real sure what to put in this box, can it be the same as Item 2, In my case I was granted adjustment of status at the USCIS California Service Center?

As always, I am a little nervous submitting forms with mistakes, Especially since I am hoping to go to England (my home country) for Christmas if all goes well under the current world situations we are currently involved in. I would imagine that if the renewed Green Card does not arrive in time for that trip, there would be some temporary documentation I would receive to be able to re enter the States? (Hopeful/Wishful thinking, I know)

First, thank you so much for all your wonderful help thus far. You've been incredible in my journey.

So, I'm a NJ applicant (originally new york, moved to NJ in between) and finally got my Oath interview on the 07th of July.

Everything looking good, but a few questions, as I'm panicking

a) Where exactly do I go to study the latest version of the test?

b) and most importantly: It asks that I bring proof of Selective Service Registration. I've been a resident since Feb 20th, 2014, and I'm currently 33 years old (born April 21st, 1988), which means I was about 25 and 10 months when I became a resident.. I don't think I ever registered. I just called the selective service registration and they couldn't find records either, but said I need an exempt letter which could take 3-4 weeks to get to me.. if that's true, I won't have this for my interview, hence my desperation.

Any advice here? Online isn't finding me either and I went from being super excited to super panicked

Hello everyone!!

I became a US citizen last Friday and have been trying to obtain an appointment at the dallas passport agency for a passport to be able to travel on Monday. I have been trying since last Friday and have been calling their passport hotline and checking on appointment portal and have had no luck. Does anyone know if they allow walk ins and any words of advice. I have to travel on Monday.

If you or your partner are still in the UK, what is your current (June 2021) work status? Is it go into work, work from home, furloughed with some pay? I see the official government sources still say work from home if possible. I don t really have a grasp of what is going on except for my grown kids...one working from home and the other unemployed because it was in the hospitality/catering sector that had no need for all their staff during lockdowns. Someone has recently asked her to assistant manage their posh shop in Oxford which will be onsite work.
