Seeking Checklist Review for K-1 Petition (I-129F) - Aiming for Zero Errors!

Hi everyone! I am from Ecuador and my fianc is a U.S. Citizen. We are currently assembling our initial K-1 visa packet and I want to make sure it is 100% perfect to avoid any Requests for Evidence (RFE) or delays.

I have put together a checklist based on my research. Could you please review it and let me know if I am missing anything or if there is a specific order you recommend for the folder?

  1. Forms: Signed Form I-129F and Form G-1145 (for e-notifications).

  2. Letters of Intent: Two separate letters (one from me, one from him) stating our intent to marry within 90 days of my arrival, both signed and dated within the last 30 days.

  3. Petitioner s Proof of Citizenship: A full copy of his U.S. passport (all pages) or his birth certificate.

  4. Proof of Marital Status: I was previously married and divorced in 2023. I am including my final divorce decree with a certified English translation. Question: Do I also need the marriage certificate with the divorce annotation from the Civil Registry in Ecuador, or is the decree enough?

  5. Proof of In-Person Meeting (Last 2 Years): Boarding passes from his trips to Ecuador, passport stamps, and hotel receipts.

  6. Evidence of Relationship: Photos of us together with my family and friends in Ecuador, and selected chat logs/call history from WhatsApp covering our entire relationship.

  7. Payment: The correct 2026 filing fee (via check or Form G-1450).

  • Is it better to print photos on photo paper or can I print them on standard paper with descriptions (captions) underneath?

  • Do you recommend using colored tabs/dividers for each section, or does USCIS prefer the packet to be simple with just paperclips/binder clips?

  • For those who processed through the Consulate in Guayaquil: Did you have any issues with the specific wording of Ecuadorian birth certificates or divorce documents?

Thank you so much for your help! I really want to get this right the first time.

The recommendation to order your U.S. Passport book with the extra pages (at no extra charge) is highly sensible.

This Minor Passport Error Could End Your Vacation

When it comes to international travel, remembering to pack your passport can feel like half the battle. But the reality is that there are plenty of ways your passport can trip you up abroad and one of the most common is usually learned the hard way.

I'm talking about blank pages. Or, more accurately, not having enough of them.

Just as many destinations require at least six months of validity beyond your return date, they also mandate a minimum number of blank pages for entry stamps and visas. According to [...]

Hello friends!

Just curious if anyone here has filed recently using the new online form? Is it easy to submit all the evidence as .pdf files?

My husband can file after March 1st but I hadn't seen anyone start a thread for Jan or Feb of this year with any details or experiences.

Thanks!
