So I m paying a lawyer to file everything (yesyes I know I could ve done it myself) and he says he doesn t file form G-1145 because what s important is the paper NOA not a text message. On the other hand my I-20 expires Oct 31 2020 and for my peace of mind I rather he file it. Seriously I see no reason not to do so. Should I force him to do it? Also if I get a text notification from USCIS before Oct 31 is that my priority date or does the paper version change?

Hello everyone, I just saw a thread about a similar question but the author is waiting for the I-130 petition approval. For our case, we have received the I-130 approval and are under the NVC process (submitting the immigrant visa application and affidavit of support, financial documents). My husband is in Colombia and I am in Arizona. I'd love him to visit me for Christmas but we are afraid that him visiting me may jeopardize our CR-1 Visa Application. Can anyone share with me their experiences as the spouse of a US citizen traveling to the US under a tourist visa during the NVC stage of the process? Did you have any problems entering the USA or any kind of situation where the CBP officer commented on the ongoing CR-1 visa application? My husband has visited the US in 2017, has a B2 tourist visa, and has a job and property in Colombia (of which he can provide evidence). Thank you so much everyone.

Hi all! Had a question I was hoping to get assistance for. My wife and I submitted our AOS and EAD paperwork last August. Of course, with COVID our AOS interview has been postponed until who knows when, but we had a question about my wife's EAD and license. We got them both this January and they are set to expire in January 2021. We are getting ready to submit the paperwork to renew them, but our immigration lawyer said we probably should have done that sooner. Does anyone know how long it could take to get those renewed? My wife really doesn't want to be stuck in the house doing nothing again for another several months.

Can a LPR petition her spouse if her admission was with a K2 visa? |

My fianc , soon to be wife (literally, 4 days away ), entered the country 4 years and 8 months ago with a K2 visa. Her mom married a US citizen and she came to the US a year after. My understanding is that a LPR can`t petition her spouse for 5 years after getting her green card if her status as a resident was product of a marriage. So... does this apply to our case? Is she elegible to petition me (F-1 student)?

I am the US citizen sponsor. My Colombian fiancee has a 20 year old daughter whose 21st b-day is Feb 20, 2021. Petition has been at the CSC since May 6, 2020. It now seems likely that the daughter's K2 visa will age out, unless there is some extension on this deadline I have not heard about!? Somehow I doubt that the general prospect of losing the daughter's visa due to COVID delays is grounds for expediting? Or that I am the sole financial support so the economic burden of continuing to support two households would be relieved by getting them here? I do have medical issues and might need surgery soon. If so might be able to expedite fiancee's visa to aid in my recuperation. Does anyone have other thoughts? Getting daughter to the States on another visa type that could be dual intent?
