Does anyone know when the embassy in Bogota closed? Trying to figure out where we are, in terms of time, of the backlog to get maybe an idea of when my fianc might have the interview after the resumption of normal services. NOA2 was 5/12/2020, so I think we re about 2 months after those who have canceled interviews.

Hello, I am a citizen of the United States , recently I married my fianc of three years in her home country of Colombia, my wife is living in Colombia. After gathering all the necessary proof of bona-fide relationship as well as requested documents by the USCIS I sent in the I-130 application on November 13th and was received by USCIS on November 30th. Questions: Was I suppose to file the I-148 Adjustment of status concurrent with the I-130? If it was better to file the I-130 & I-148 concurrently is to late to file I-148 now since I haven't received a NOA1 and check hasn't been cashed? also is another fee to be paid? If all this is wrong what steps should be taken? what forms are to be submitted? I would like for my wife to be able to apply for a drivers license, work, travel back to her Colombia to visit family if our petition is approved and she gets her visa. Help is gratefully appreciated! Happy Holidays :-) Dennis

Hello, Hoping to get some advice... my husband was fingerprinted on Friday, December 4th after waiting for nearly 7 months so almost 2 weeks ago. He started to work on his resume and today just to go see he went to interview for a pretty good company. They offered him the job pretty much on the spot but my husband told them that if there was any way they could wait a few weeks as he's waiting to receive his work authorization card. He honestly didn't think they'd offer the job on the spot and wanted to just get out there to interview. They asked if he had a social and he said yes but that he couldn't work with it until he received his EAD. They said he only needs his social and he explained that he can't work until he receives his EAD but would love to work there and if they could possibly wait a few weeks. My husband then called me and asked if there's a way to perhaps expediate the EAD as he has a job offer? Is it even worth submitting to expediate if he had his fingerprints done 2 weeks ago and just wait for him to receive the card hopefully soon? We are doing everything the correct way but we wanted to see if we should just wait and if so what could the ETA be on the card? Or should we submit an expediate inquiry? Advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hello All, I am starting a job in the USA on January 11th. Currently, I m in Colombia. I d like to do my child's CRBA appointment and renew my expired passport before then (it expired because we weren t able to travel and the embassy shut down because of COVID). Question 1: what are the steps for me to be the one present during the CRBA interview in lieu of my wife and child? (Paperwork, etc) We re trying to avoid them traveling if possible because of the virus and I have to go to bogota for my passport anyways. Question 2: How long does it take to renew a passport completely? And is this possible for me considering I need to be in the states on the 11th of January 2021? Question 3: How long does it take to get an emergency passport from the Bogota embassy so that I can travel back to the states on time? I m trying to choose the best option for me in order to make it to my job on time. I've emailed and called the embassy but keep getting very vague answers that don't help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Walt
