US Immigration from Colombia

I am very worried about my status situation.

11 May 2020 : AOS was recieved by USCIS

However, by then we did not recieved the letters (NOA's), so I requested again our notices to be mailed.

2 June 2020 : Letters were recieved and case status changed to "Duplicate Notice Was Mailed"

All of these months have passed and our status have been stuck on "Duplicate Notice was Mailed. On June 2020, we sent you...."

Surprisingly, two hours ago our i485 check status changes to

Notice Was Returned to USCIS Because The Post Office Could Not Deliver It

"On January 11, 2021, the Post Office returned a notice we sent you for your Form i485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust of Status. Receipt Number MSC......, because they could not deliver it. This could have a serious effect on your case. Please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice inmediatly. If you move, go to ....".

I called USCIS and they told me to enter to that website, uscis.gov..... to request a copy of the notice ASAP. I did it. However, the system asked me what notice was not recieved. The options were:

- Appointment

- Approval

- Denial

- RFE

- Other

I clicked Appointment as it is the one I assumed to recieve. I do not know if they meant to send me a RFE and I just messed it up.

Also, the question "Provide Last Action on your case". I wrote: Duplicate notice was mailed.

I wrote that because that is the last thing I knew about my case (other than the last minute returned notice...)

After I submitted it, it says to expect an answer by february 2. I am very scared about my status and I don't knnow what will happen.

I'm hoping to receive some insight. We received our notification for our interview for Feb 2nd (finally) however my husband hasn't received his work permit. He was fingerprinted on December 4th. He has been interviewing and was offered a great job with a good company. He explained he's waiting for the work permit and they absolutely understood and said they will wait for him to receive the card. They said they wanted to at least get the process started and would like to do a background check on him while he waits for his work permit. The job said they just want to run his background and they will give him a tentative date once he gets his work permits. They're aware of the time delay as well.

Is this something he can get started? Will a background check be any problem? He won't be working at all but they do want to get this part out of the way. Is this something he can provide? They're asking for his SNN and License Number to run it for now.

Hey guys, just wanted to give my Colombian K1-ers some hope. We attended an interview on January 7th and was approved! We previously had an interview scheduled on December 6th but it was unfortunately cancelled 5 days before (wasting a plane ticket). I had been checking everyday after that for any appointments and it just popped up one day. We really didn t hold out hope that it would happen. So 3 days before the appointment I contacted the Embassy and they confirmed it. They did say that it s basically a ####### shoot because it depends on what s going on with Covid in Bogota. When my fianc was waiting at the gates of the embassy he said a total of 12 people were there. He thinks that s all they were doing that day. He was also told by a friend of an Embassy guard that they had not been doing any interviews at all and he was surprised this one happened. So keep the faith and keep checking the website for appointment dates!

Hello, my Colombian girlfriend has a multiple-entry B2 tourist visa, which she has used several times over the past few years to visit the US and return to Colombia. She has never overstayed or done anything else contrary to the terms of her tourist visa (like working illegally, for example), nor has she been given a hard time at customs. She is hoping to do a "work and travel" J1 cultural exchange program in the US this summer, but is concerned about the possible effects (if any) this could have on her existing B2 visa. My question is: Is there any possibility of her B2 visa being cancelled or revoked as a result of her application for the J1? Either in the case her J1 application is approved or for some reason, denied? Thanks in advance!

I just wanted to ask if anyone else is also having a delays with their biometrics appointment being scheduled? I have been waiting since May and due to covid-closures since October 13th which was their re-opening date. I have a friend that submitted his petition a month before me and he already did biometrics and received his new EAD card (I-765). Any advise?
