221g in the interview and no answer about approval or refusal visa

I don't understand what happened in my IR1 visa interview. I recently had my interview at the consulate in Rio de Janeiro and the consul was supposed to ask me for a 601 waiver, but in my interview, besides not even saying the waiver, he didn't tell me if the visa was approved or denied, he just gave me a sheet of 221g asking for a document. I took this document to CASV, the visa application service center, and there the lady said that my passport would arrive at home with my visa approved? What do you mean? Is this a miracle? But when I get to the visa tracking, it shows as refused? What's going on? And when will I get my passport back? Can they still deny it or ask for a waiver? I'm confused and distressed...

Can I receive Gifts without a Work Permit?

Hello everyone!

Well, basically the title explains it all. I'm an Alien with a K-1 Visa, arrived in the US a month ago. I am currently IN America, with my spouse. We just married and it was the best day of my life. We are filing for a Change of Status, Work permit, SSN. All that jazz. We are right in that moment where I can't really work and I have just been spending my money all over without making anything back. And, All the money that I had whilst coming here is slowly fading away.

Now, my spouse can very much cover all the basic needs and more, BUT there are still some things that I'd like to get for myself without needing to make her go through the trouble of spending even more of her money (specially given that the Change of Status fee is right around the corner and that is pricey!).

I have some folks back in my country and some friends that I know here that have said that they would like to give me some cash just to have for myself. So I can buy stuff like new clothes, food, pay my phone. Stuff like that.

Like I said, my spouse can cover for all of it. But I'd rather help her out in any way I can. That way we could more easily save up to get ourselves a couch and some other things to turn our basement into a cool living space like we've been wanting to!

However, I haven't really been able to find a concrete answer about this. Am I able to accept money from people without having a work permit? Would that get me in trouble? I am not really sure.

Thank you for reading, regardless! I very much appreciate it.

Have a good day!

My son 15 years old living outside of US is coming (tourist Visa) to visit me for about 30 days in US.

(I am US citizen through naturalization).

Can someone point me to the right direction about applying for his green card?

My specifically question is: Should I apply here in US or at his home country overseas?

What are the required forms? I-130, I-485...

Which Visa should I go for?

Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a lovely day.

I met my significant other online through a group of mutual friends on February, and, a couple months passed, i applied for a b1/b2 VISA, got denied (on the 10th of June) on the grounds of lacking strong ties to the country of origin, specifically in regards to having my own house/residence in the country.

Following that fiasco, my significant other came down here to Brazil (from 3rd of September to 16th of September) and we spent 13 days together. During this period, we decided to become engaged!

I have the equivalent of a Registered Nurse degree on my country, and I've been working as a Nursing teacher for 3 years, with some on-field supervisions here and there.

We've been looking at our options to live together. She absolutely needs to go back to America every couple months for medical related reasons, so staying here long term isn't exactly ideal.

I could go for a EB3 through NCLEX and CGFNS and looking for a job, but I believe applying for a EB3 after having my B1/B2 visa denied could be seen as a bad thing for the US government. Am I thinking wrongly?

We're willing to go for a K1, but since the time we've spent together was not a whole lot, it could be denied.

She's going to come down here sometime next year, and we could get married in here, and then go for a CR1.

Or I could go for a B2 and stay in the US for some time, and then come back here, and try again for a K1.

She's willing to be my sole sponsor, but she will need to look for a more stable job and career options to better cover the poverty line thing.

All of these options are so overwhelming and it makes me feel suffocated and hopeless at times.. Any tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

My husband has his F-1 OPT visa (he s been here 8 years already - he s 23). We got married three months ago - I m a US citizen. We are so confused about the process, but we want to do it ourselves because our case seems simple. please help if you can!!

1) What are all the forms we need?
2) Is there anything else we need?
3) He wants to work asap as well - is that a separate form?

thanks in advance!
