I'm applying for an IR2 visa and I need to bring my mom and petitioner's original marriage certificate.
My interview is on February 08th and they shipped it on February 2nd. It won't arrive in time even though they paid for express shipping. (Before anyone asks why did they ship it so late, our immigration lawyer told us that we would need it for the interview too late. She forgot to tell us earlier.)
Because of Covid-19, USPS is overloaded with packages and short staffed, and besides that the mail system in my country sucks.
I have two questions:
1: I have all the documents in hands, this is the only one remaining but I have a photocopy printed out. Is my visa going to be denied because of this missing original document?
2: Is there any chance the US Consulate will ask me to mail it to them once it arrives?
