US Immigration from Australia

Hello forum,

I made kind of a minor screw up that is turning into a major one.

we submitted the AOS I-485 + I-131 + I-765 with the appropriate filing fees using a credit card.

The credit card got denied because it wasn't activated for those kinds of transactions (annoying)

I resubmitted a new packet and sent it out with the corrected information (different credit card)

Today (same day I sent the new one) I received the old file with a green rejection notice

On the notice it says "PLACE THIS LETTER ON TOP OF YOUR NEW FILING PACKAGE"

because I didn't want to delay, I just re-compiled it all and sent it. I didn't add this green letter

can anyone advise on this please

if anyone has had this happen to them, please let me know what can be done.

We mailed our marriage-based g/c application in, it was received on 29th Sept (from FedEx delivery report). My B2 runs out here on 5th November, I know it's taking longer right now for them to send out the case numbers, confirmation of receipt etc, will it be a problem if I still don't hear from them past my B2 expiry? Or is it as case of once it's received it's all good? Checks haven't been cashed yet either, not sure how long that usually takes with USCIS?

I have a question about getting a driving permit in California without a SSN with AOS processing.

I just got turned away from the DMV because they advised that if I apply for a drivers license it will void my AOS application and I have to wait for my SSN. This is the first I have heard about this.

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of issue?

Looking for any recent successes in being allowed to fly MEL to SYD in order to connect to a flight to the US.. or anywhere internationally really ! I am an Aussie citizen living in the US (LPR ) so I don t need an exemption to leave Australia ... but in order to fly out I need to fly through Sydney. Has anyone been successful in getting the NSW border exemption ? I m booked to fly into Sydney in a few weeks .. will quarantine in Sydney then fly to MEL to see my 92 year old parents who are finding the long lockdown really tough going. Appreciate the on the ground wisdom and insight Thx !
