Walk in Biometrics

We received our biometrics date today for October 3, 2007. Does anyone know if we can "walk-in" to the application service center before that date? We did that back with the I-485, saying, "we were in the neighborhood and thought we'd stop in," and they did the biometrics then and there. I'm not sure if things have changed in the past couple years and this is now banned.

Anybody have any experience doing this recently?

Thank you all for your assistance.

Nancy

All I know is that my district office has security officers that are very specific in making sure you have an appointment letter and and that you are there on the correct date/time. I arrived 30 minutes early for my biometrics appointment and they wouldn't let me in until 15 minutes before the official appointment time.

when I went, you had to be there on the date it said on the letter but the time didn't seem to matter.. I wish I had known that because I would have gone sooner....

Hartford seems to be a small, not so busy, office. Give it a try.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. We did a walk in for Jenny's AOS here at the North Houston office and had no problem. Don't know, maybe we just got lucky but we will try it again for I-751.

Good luck to all.

We "walked in" to the Nashville ASC and we ended up getting the biometrics taken care of then and there --

1)We (my wife the applicant and me) drove 3 hours to get there and the guard recognized that.

2)They were not very busy from my observations.

3)They were very nice folks and nice to deal with.

4)Our case for walking in was that we had a definite conflict with the scheduled date and in all likelihood were going to have a conflict with the next two weeks after that.

FYI-- our status was updated or "touched" the same day.

Good luck.

I did a walk in at the downtown New York ASC at Varick St. The security guard at the entrance was only looking to see that you had a letter, and didn't care about the date. Even the people in the biometrics area didn't ask me why I was there on a different date than the appointment. I actually had to do a walk in because I received my appointment letter a couple of weeks after the date of the appointment. You've got to love the US Post Office!!

14-May-2007 Filed I-751 at Vermont Service Center.

26-May-2007 Received blue receipt notice for $275 payment

23-Jun-2007 Received I-797 to extend green card for 1 year.

09-Jul-2007 Received appointment notice for fingerprints - however appointment date was July 2nd, one week earlier!!

13-Jul-2007 Went into New York ASC with appointment notice showing July 2 date, and was fingerprinted. No questions asked.
