Hello friends,

I am submitting my second post on this site. I am going to submit my birth certificate in conjunction with the I129A package and I am wondering what I should do, if anything, about the "front and back" photo copy of my birth certificate if my birth certificate, which is the long form, is BLANK on the BACK.

I don't want the government official to think that I neglected to copy the back side of the Birth Certificate and then get a RFE.

Any thoughts? At the moment on the back side of the birth certificate I have a note that says the side is blank and I signed and dated it.

Should I submit an official copy and just stop fretting about it?

Submit a separate sheet (don't do anything back-to-back) and on it write that this is a copy of the back page of your B/C and that it is blank. I would sign and date this page on the bottom too, but that last bit is just my own advice.

I-130 for Parents - 2013
Aug ?? - mailed I-130 packages for both mother and father
Sept 10 - NOA1 date
Sept 16 - NOA1s received

2014

Feb 25 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office for processing

Feb 26 - got emails saying that the cases have been transferred to my local office for processing

Feb 28 - got emails saying that the cases have been transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

Mar 18 - got emails saying that the petitions are approved smile.png

Yes, that is what I did. I made the front copy and a copy of the back and wrote in black ink, "Back is Blank"

January 29, 2006 - WE GOT ENGAGED!!

March 20, 2006- mail K-1 VISA (certified & return receipt).

March 22, 2006 - Vermont office receives our application.

March 23, 2006 - NOA1

March 24, 2006 - Check is cashed

April 22, 2006 - Receive email from USCIS that RFE is mailed for more information.

April 28, 2006 - Receive RFE in the mail. Need final divorce decree from Andreas.

June 20, 2006 - 2nd RFE (IMBRA)

June 23, 2006 - Received RFE (IMBRA) in the mail.

June 24, 2006 - FedEx IMBRA RFE to Vermont office.

June 27, 2006 - Vermont Office received IMBRA RFE.

July 3, 2006 - Touched

July 12, 2005 - Fedex request for extension for the 1st RFE.

July 17, 2006 - Deadline for 1st RFE.

July 18, 2006 - Touched

July 19, 2006 - Touched

July 20, 2006 - Touched

August 6, 2006 - Touched

August 17, 2006 - Touched and email that a letter has been sent with regards to RFE.

August 23, 2006 - Letter received, we got the extension I requested, they allowed us 3 MORE MONTHS!!!

October 27, 2006 - Papers mailed by courier from Athens.

Why a separate sheet? There is such a thing as a double-sided copy, and they're easy to make. In fact, it's a trivial exercise to make a double-sided copy when the back side of the original is blank.

My thoughts were that as all the forms are one-sided then in my mind, an adjudicator will not be looking at the back of any pages for information, and something as small as "Back of B/C - blank" could be missed.

That being said, I'm sure that there are people that did not submit a blank back page, or if they did double-sided it. I was not one of those. I decided to recycle lots of other page and waste the one page instead :P

No, all the forms are not one-sided. Order them from the USCIS and guess what?

As for the ones that can be filled out on-line and printed, they're one-sided only if you intentionally print them that way.

Before this process started, I got another copy from my city and submitted a certificated copy with raised seal. The cost was only 8$.

July 11, 2009 - Certified Mail to VSC I-751 Package

July 14, 2009 - Check cleared bank

July 20, 2009 - NOA1 & 1 yr extension - Receipt date is July 14. Case# assigned

Sept 1, 2009 - Biometrics completed

Nov 25, 2009 - I-751 is approved. No Interview.

Dec 14, 2009 - 10yr Green Card arrived !
