need some advice for my wife's interview

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My wife's interview is coming up in a week. I am getting nervous by the second. Our interview for K-1 failed last year. They said it was a sham because we haven't met each other very long before I propose to my wife. My wife kinda screwed up during that interview, but I don't think it would have made a difference. The said we met May 28th instead of May 24th. I propose to her on the 28th. I knew after meeting her and hanging out with her the first day that I wanted her to be my wife. Now, if she is asked that question again, does she stick with what she said during the K-1 interview or should she tell them May 24th. My biggest concern is that they have records of what she said during the K-1 and will asked her during the CR-1 interview. It's only a few days extra that we gain but is it advisable to tell her to use the actual date instead? I think our case should be stronger since I have been back to see her a total of 4 times since we got engaged. But you never know with these people. Thanks for your help. Hope I didn't confuse anyone. My head is spinning right now......

i would go with what ever date is the right date. if they ask about the other i would just try to explain it.

I agree with the above suggestion. You can always say that she misheard the question and thats why she gave the wrong date. Telling the truth is probably the best thing to do and the easiest to remember.

You know, that really ticks me off. We just recently went through the same thing. Who the hell are they to say just because you haven't known each other for very long you don't love each other and the relationship is a sham. My fiancee and I spoke for 7 months before actually meeting in person and they said that we didn't know each other long enough to be in love because we only met in person recently before having the marriage ceremony. I really wish I had some advice to give. I know that we met with ME and were told that if everything was not in order we would get denied when we reapplied. I would highly recommend getting legal assistance if you have not already. This CO seems to be very corrupt from what I have been hearing so you really want to make sure that all of you i are dotted and t's are crossed before going back.

The problem is that this CO doesn't give you the chance to explain yourself. They just automatically hand you a blue slip. That is part of the problem that we had.

Im sure you now have a stronger case. the supposed would be questions are

WHen did you first meet your husband? "say the exact date of meeting in person and date of meeting online (if its the case) make sure to make a difference between the two.

-tell your wife, if she doesnt understand the question being asked.. she can always ask again.. (she should be looking staright to the COs eyes)

They would be asking her, what do you do? and how long you have been doing it, what makes you special? when did you get married? do you have children? does she have children? can she handle taking care of your children?

This is pretty sure: Did you apply for a visa before? she would be saying the K1 of course, follow up question would be what happen to the previous application: then she should be honest that it was denied..(if ask)..

Ill be crossing my fingers as well for you guys to get it this time.. All'sl well that ends well.

Just be honest and tell the truth. They will have records from before.The problem you will have is if you did not fully address the reasons for your first denial.These reasons will still be in place.

If you can be there for the interview would be great but also be prepared for worse case scenario. As has been said before have legal counsel in place if you need it.

seems like there is no rhyme or reason sometime for approval or denial. i have talked to some who have been with their significant other for a long time and been denied and those who have known their fiancée for a short time and been approved. seems to me all denials have one common thread in them. a lot seem to have a miscommunication about dates and times of certain events. i think maybe this plants a seed of doubt in the cos mind and may make them think that something is not real even if it is. with my interview coming up i have tried to look for a secret formula , but from what i can tell there isn't one. the best thing seems to be get your paperwork in order, get all your dates of important events down with your fiancée, and have plenty of evidence. all it takes is a little bit of doubt and it seems it can cause things to go wrong.guess i will put a lot of theories to the test this July 22nd. i only knew my fiancée for about 8 months before i went to viet nam and had my engagement ceremony. we waited a week to make sure we still felt the same as we did before i came. we were introduced by her relative, even though i asked about my fiancée van first from looking at photos this could raise a red flag. to combat this i have compiled a lot of evidence. i have chat logs, hand written letters, cards, gifts, phone bills, phone card which shows me calling her, e-mails, text messages, lots of photos, even will bring dvd of ceremony if they want to watch it. . i weighed it before i mailed it and my paperwork weighed about 14lbs before my fiancee added too it.lol i pray its enough, but i don't know what else they could ask for. what ever happens i will never give up until i am united with my love again. never give up!

I was denied first time around. Second time I/we hit them with both barrows!

Comminication records, money receipts, life insurance policy, wiil and a trust.

Tons of pictures also. I made extra trips to see her also.

First time I thought you only had to prove you had met!!! WRONG! They want you to prove as best as you can you are in love BIGTIME!

MAIN thing is for the bene to sneak in how much they love you anytime they can in the interview.

Make sure you have proof of purchases, not just the boarding passes, for all your trips to see your wife. Also, it's good to know the exact dates of those visit. For my wife I just made a cover page with all the dates on the folder. During the interview, the CO asked about them and my wife just read it straight off from the list.

Go over the timeline with your wife and flesh out all your personal events. I agree with the above posters about telling the truth. Since you are filing for CR-1, it's crucial for your wife to separate events into pre-marriage and after marriage for proofs on ongoing relationship. Practice basic questions about how you guys met each other and when was the first time you met each other. The CO almost asks those questions all the time. Thanks for everyone's advice. I've been told to keep it consistent from what she said during the K-1 interview. I had only met my wife for 1 week before I asked for her hand in marriage. We had the engagement party about 4 days later. I know it sounds crazy and all but for the short time we knew each other, I was head over heals with her. It's hard to explain, when you know..you just know. I've had other relationships in the US but I never felt like that for anyone of them, even after months and in some cases, years. I did everything they wanted me to do after I got the blue form during the K-1 case, but in the end, they still denied. It has been 2 years since I met my wife and I feel a stronger bond now then ever. I have proof of all my plane ticket purchases, etc. I've been back to visit my wife 4 times since I met her. Doesn't the COs know that if it was fake, then why would i bother going back so many times. I was going to marry my wife and have a huge ceremony in the US once she got her after her K-1 but it didn't happen. So, to prove to them that I was serious about our relationship, I went back and married her. It's getting closer and closer to the day of the interview and I am getting so nervous and anxious, but I'm trying to fight it and not show it when I talked to my wife. It would only make it worse, but we have been going over any and every question imagineable about our relatiionship.

I'm sure that they have recorded the first interview (K-1). One of my friends was the same case. She said exactly what she had said in the first interview ( K-1). She got pinkslip with CR-1 visa on June 5, 2008 in HCMC consulate.

You and your wife have buillt a stronger case now. That's what is most important, that you can prove your relationship has continuied and grown. I don't think the Consulate will look at your K1 as much as the evidence, etc in your CR1 because that's the current case. The Consulate will be aware of your previous K1 so she should just tell the truth if any questions come up, people do make mistakes especially when they are nervious.
