Hi All,

After submitting to the Vermont Center in June 15th, we just got our NOA2 on Dec 4th. Almost 6 months. Now we're expecting the NVC to process quickly and then send the info to the US Embassy in Japan. Crazy, my fiance and I can't believe the process is actually moving.

We have two questions:

1) What is the average wait time from now (receiving the NOA2) to getting an interview appointment? Specifically, we're interested in what people have experience in Tokyo.

2) We've spotted errors in our applications, which we don't know for sure if they were corrected. Should we contact the NVC for this inquiry, or just bring our evidence and explanations to the interview at the US Embassy?

The errors were missing "Other Name" which is her birth certificate name from another country than where she currently lives. Also, there is a wrong "City of Birth" as Hong Kong is a country, city, and we think province as well.

DMZOCT2005, looks like maybe most of your questions have been answered, my fiance and I are in the middle of all this now. He is at his medical appt right now (they're a day ahead for those looking at my timeline) My case was lost by CSC for a month but you filed at VSC and as stated earlier (I think by Marta) VSC sends them out as soon as approved where CSC doesn't. Yours should be on it's way to the embassy already. Try calling NVC and select to speak to an officer or better yet, call DOS (202)663-1225. They are very helpful and can tell you if NVC sent it to the embassy already.

He said the medical check went well considering he doesn't have his shot records. They took blood to test to see what he's had and he'll go back next week to get any shots he may need and they'll give him his paperwork. He said they were extremely nice. He ordered the police certificate in Saitama (where he lives & I used to live) and they said he get it in 7-10 days. You have to have the packet from the embassy to show before you can order the police certificate.

You can use the same proof that you used for the I-129f and you should take all originals with you to the interview in case they ask to see them. You keep your originals, but they may want to see them and give them the copies

Yes, take both copies and the originals..they will keep the copies, but the originals are proof and will not ask to keep them. Apparently there was a change recently and you have to have the police certificate and medical exam clearance papers in hand now before you can get an interview appointment. MY fiance will go back to the hospital next Tues morning to get his shots if he needs any and then go pick up his police certificate, Then he will make his interview appointment. I guess there were problems when people were setting up interview appointments and not having all of their paperwork/exams done, so they changed it.

It's difficult to reach NVC, that's why I also suggested calling DOS (Dept of State) They have all of the same info as NVC and they're easier to get in touch with.

The type of evidence my fiance and I are going to bring to the interview are LOTS of pictures (some dated some not), phone records, boarding pass/plane ticket stubs, hotel receipts, and flight itineraries. You can also bring emails or online conversation records among other things.

I think the best evidence he will be bringing is ME! From what I've read on personal stories people who had their fiance with them had a lot easier interview than those who didn't. (most of the personal stories I read were from people in Canada though, since that's where I will be going)

Whenever I call NVC, I find it is best to call them after 7:30PM Eastern Standard Time. You can usually get ahold of an operator then with a short (approx. 5 min) wait.

Looking here and scrolling down to "What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2)" can really help with deciding what evidence to bring.
