Question about I-824 form

hi everyone

my fiance recieved the hard copy of NOA2 on DEC 8 2007 & got the Alien registration number "A088 52X XXX". she said that i need to file I-824 form & send it to VSC "for action on an approved petition". my doubt is do i really have to fill the I-824 form & mail it to VSC? .

According to my knowledge I-824 is used only when "the original NOA2 copy is lost or never recieved the hard copy of NOA2.IF anybody know about this please help me. According to the K1 visa process, Once the petition is approved i just have to wait for the packet 3 from the NVC & dont have to fill any forms before packet 3

That's not the only thing the I-824 is used for but no, you don't need to file anything unless you lose the original.

It will be automatically sent to the NVC and then forwarded to the appropriate embassy. The I-824 isn't needed
