A Purdue University graduate student was arrested and charged with threatening to kill President George W. Bush, Laura Bush, Vice President ####### Cheney and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

Vikram Buddhi allegedly posted the detailed and threatening messages on an online message board.

Buddhi has been studying industrial engineering at the university, having moved temporarily from India to his new home in West Lafayette 10 years ago on a student visa.

In the various messages posted, Buddhi urged the Web site’s readers to bomb the United States and for them to rape American and British women and mutilate them, according to court documents. Other messages called for the killing of all Republicans.

“What was allegedly said certainly is derogatory and may be inflammatory,” Martin said. “But there’s no real serious threat more than it was chat on the Web.”

Buddhi allegedly posted his messages on a Yahoo finance board dedicated to Sirius Satellite radio, a site that receives 2 million to 3 million hits a day, Martin said. A concerned citizen contacted the Secret Service office in Dallas to report that a subject was posting threatening messages about Bush, according to the criminal complaint filed in Hammond’s federal court and unsealed Monday.

Thats got to be the dumbest that anyone could possible do. Its like telling the airline that you have a bomb in your suitcase.

I knew a guy in Sacramento who wrote across a picture of the Pres that was in the newspaper that "this man needs to die".

Sure enough someone turned him into the Secret Service (required by law if you are a Federal employee).

After being arrested and held for several days, they put his name on a list, and everytime the Pres would be in the general area, the Secret Service agents would come for a visit to interview him. He was also fired from his govt job.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

When I went to the inauguration day protests (the first time w. was handed the keys), there were a few demonstrators holding signs that had the image of a .32 pistol, that said "assasinate bush". I couldn't believe it, esp since all demonstrators were subject to search before accessing the parade route. Then again, it could've been agitators... b/c there were some there, as well as suspected police (in civvies) going around macing random people point blank in the eyes. I've seen the video.
