Well, this is the second time this week this has happened. Tuesday morning both my daughters elementary school and my sons middle school that are about 1/2 from each other were in lock-down because of reported shots fired. There was an actual shooting in front of my daughters school last week. Just heard on the radio my daughters school is in lock down again and no one is saying anything. Pisses me off. I live in a good town, low crime rate, I just bought a place close to the schools because of this supposed "good area" and now that a group of people moved in, it's going to ####### and fast. Why won't the law inforcement people just do their jobs and get the people outta here? The word is the gangs from St. Louis and KC are moving to this territory. :protest: As of right now the school won't tell me a thing and parents cannot even go pick up their kids. What the hell is this world coming to? I told my husband the other night if the law here would treat criminals like they do in Egypt....we would have no crime! Now I just want to go puke. All I want to hear is that all is ok.

I would not say what is the world coming to but what is America coming to. People seem to forget or not realize that the gangs, drug dealers, rapists, mafia, organized crime etc have same same protection under the current constitution as does anybody else. In my opinion the second someone commits a federal crime they should automatically forfeit all of their rights. Apart from having a fair trial. Law enforcement officers have about 1,001 rules to follow while the criminals make their own rules. The more an Americans quality of life deteriorates, the more adamant and determined mobs like the ALCU are about so-called protecting 'all'; which in reality is protecting the criminal's rights aswell.

The legal system and people's attitude towards law enforcement needs to be brought into the 21st and reflect the current America. Tagging and graffiti is a huge problem in Melbourne, AUS. Consequently the state there just passed a law giving 'the police the right' to search any kids on a train for spray cans or thick markers. The kids then have to prove they had them for legitimate uses otherwise they are automatically fined and arrested.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Point being that for certain obvious crimes it is no longer a game of cat and mouse by hiding under the innocent until proven otherwise mentality. People there have had enough and are applying common sense to the problem rather than just thinking it is what it is. Whereas any attempt to ratify the laws here is always followed by the usual BS about taking away someones infamous rights.

The irony is that people are worried about the government breaching their 'constitutional rights', yet seem to be oblivious to the reality that in todays America you cannot leave a child play in your front yard for more than an hour or so without a good chance of them being kidnapped. And no this does not happen everywhere.

I do not know about anyone else here but the kids safety is more important to me than some gang banger's rights..
