Dealing with HR

Its a long story, but this skank likes my best friend here at work, and he doesnt like her. Well she kept blaming me for it (like i have a husband i dont care what Kurt - the best friend does),she told him he had to stop being friends with me and my husband and choose her, and he said no, bc his friends are more important and she verbally attacked me last week, and threatened me in 3 different ways. HR still has not confronted her about this issue. i feel like i dont matter as an employee and she has even begun harrassing me again this mornig. ####### can i do about this HR and skank thing?

Well, I have to retract a bit here. The whole 'best friend' angle of this seems so childish on her part...however, I didn't completely read the end of it re:threats.

I agree with everyone who said document, send in writing, etc. However, if the threats are bad enough - and perchance there were witnesses around, I'd actually call the police. Or write a letter to HR saying if they don't take action, the next time you are threatened you will call the cops. Or even tell the woman directly that if she doesn't cease and desist, you will involve the police. Of course, if this woman is really a complete nutter, then I'd think at how calling the cops is going to possibly have her lash out at you harder. Kinda like the hand that rocks the cradle woman.

HR needs to provide you with what they plan to do. Initially it is just you said she said so they need to investigate. If they don't tell you anything or do anything they can leave the company open for a law suit

i understand, but the fact is its not a he said she said deal, me and 4 others wrote the complaint on what happened to me last week, and they havent even spoken to her yet about this. so theres the frustration.

Unless she threatened you physically (& even then I doubt much will happen) you can't file a police report. They will tell you to go to HR. Be careful what you do, making the workplace your enemy is a slippery slope.

Unless she threatened you physically (& even then I doubt much will happen) you can't file a police report. They will tell you to go to HR. Be careful what you do, making the workplace your enemy is a slippery slope.

I agree to an extent, but if she is being threatened physically, and HR is not doing anything about it, she should go to the cops. If Tara has even the slightest notion that this woman will act on her words, worrying about how her job's gonna take it is irrelevant...
